Clean facility and the units appear to be very new. I was greeted and helped by Theresia at the Chestnut Ave location in Kansas City. She was very friendly, knowledgeable, and knew the business inside and out. She was especially accommodating to make a last min change for me when a stored item appeared too large to make a turn inside the facility hall and she quickly found another unit with a safer egress. Only 4 stars because despite the 5 star performance of the staff on location, the numerous phone calls and extra effort required to coordinate with this branch through the larger call center slowed things down considerably. I felt the very capable staff on location was being micromanaged and overworked (just 1 person for the entire facility including front desk, janitorial work and phone reception along with actually handling the units being rented...????) Also they were waiting on a gate repair which remained open, certainly a security issue which I would think should be resolved same day. It was still open 3 days later when I had returned and I'm unaware if it has since been fixed. read more

Mrs. Theresa was absolutely amazing hands down best customer service. Went over the policies and rules. Explained everything clear where there was no misunderstanding bout the lease your signing. I need a storage unit fast and called around got high prices all around KC but called shield storage they had exactly what I need at a unbeatable price. Wen I got there i knew I choose the right place to put my belong not only is the place safe it's extremely clean. Our home caught on fire there were a few things we were able to salvage. I one place I knew I could go to get a safe, clean and affordable storage was the Shield Storage. I was greater with the door being opened for me and very friendly staff. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Tarisa was hands down one of the sweetest Reps. I believe this company has ever had. She knew I had limited funds and she was able to accommodate with out sacrificing quality. I have been coming to this Storage facility since they first opened. read more

This is the best facility I've been to in the downtown area. The woman I met with was very nice and punctual didn't leave out any details and has a very high standard for the facility.
