I was very happy to stumble upon this little ramen shop while wandering around the neighborhood. I had been craving something hot and soupy for days as a result of being a little homesick by now. The ramen really hit the spot, The shop exterior drew me in because it reminded of the storefronts in Japan. The interior space was small and intimate just as it would be in Japan.
Menu is small making it rvery easy to make a choice. I decided on a ramen featuring a local favorite, the boquerones, which also came with a perfectly cooked soft boiled egg. The noodles had a perfect bite to them; not too doughy or soft. Broth was nice and clear with well balanced flavor.
Staff was friendly and attentive. The waiter was happy to repeatedly pour my cider the Basque way which requires a lot of arm motion and coordination. Apparently, the cider has to hit the glass in order to reach maximum potential.
This little spot was a refreshing break from the tourist crowds in Old Town, especially if you are craving some Asian flavors. read more
