I went here for a haircut and style. Worse experience. I was sitting in the stylist chair for 6 hours. No one in the salon just Shi shi and her trainee. Her trainee did not know what she was doing. I was tired hungry and frustrated I can't believe as an owner you would allow a trainee to work on someone hair for such a long period of time and you have no consideration for that client sitting in your chair from morning to evening for a simple cut and blow dry and you offer no discount no food no drink nothing!! The salon is truly a Diamond In the ruff of Worcester. There is ample parking near the shop and it is easy to find as you drive down the street. The shop is clean and brightly lit inside. Dina Jean Noel did an excellent consultation and I felt confident about my hair styling options. They have amazing communication via email, phone and text. I was going to a barber! Went in to Shi-Shi's for a wash, trim and style. The owner took her time with me and talked about my hair and my options. I can't remember the last time an owner bothered to do my hair. Amazing! I had a fantastic shampoo with products that were tailored to my hair perfectly. Then a great style to finish. The stylist even put me under the dryer so I wouldn't be cold with wet hair outside. Prices are reasonable and service is prompt. Great menu of services. Shi Shi's should be a model for other salons.This is the salon that I've been looking for! Reasonable prices, clean salon, professional/talented stylists, free parking and they value my time so I don't have to sit in the salon all day! Here's a summary of my Shi Shi first experience. I have natural hair and I visited Shi Shi's for a press & curl and trim. I had a few questions before booking the appointment and Eurayshia quickly responded to each of my emails. The ladies at this salon are super friendly and professional. I loved being seen on time and that the stylist (Rosa) got me in and out (1.5 hours total for a press & curl and trim)). Not that they rush you but they only book you for one time slot so your stylist is not working on other people--only you! I also loved that the stylist didn't ask 50 billion questions while doing my hair. I've always hated salons that are too nosy/chatty. The salon is clean and parking is easy. I found the prices to be reasonable (so I can afford to go back, yayyy!). The outcome of my hair was BEAUTIFUL! I was shocked to see how straight, soft and silky Rosa was able to make my hair. Ray Ray the owner is the only person I trust to color and or straighten my hair. My hair is natural so I come in for a press and curl and sometimes full color. I don't know if it the Paul Mitchell products she uses or her technique but my hair will stay bone straight until I decide to was it and little to no heat damage. I went here originally for a consult and weave. I changed my mind because my hair was damaged when I took the weave out (the weave was not done by this salon, but one in my area), so I just decided to get a wash and condition to try to revitalize my hair. They did a great job. My natural hair smelled wonderful and was really soft. I only give it 4 stars not because I had a problem, but because I didn't get my original style so I can't really be a good judge on whether or not it's the best salon I've ever been to, but I can say they were very accommodating and flexible with my last minute change in plans. I will come back to update my stars if/when I decide to professionally style my hair again. When I do, I will definitely be going here. I went to Shi-Shi's last year for a relaxer after having braids in for 7 months. My hair was rough! I went to the consultation and I was blown that I couldn't get my hair relaxed that day. But no worries I got a press and curl to last me through the weekend. the next week I went for a relaxer and was treated right. The salon saw to my needs and made sure I was comfortable. I gone back twice and the experience was good. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking to leave a friends kitchen and really get your hair done. read more

Owner is rude and unprofessional. She basically allowed her student to use me as a practice dummy and it took a long time. Long story not really short I was robbed. I didn't even get the hairstyle I wanted. They literally went off for 20 minutes doing something else and just left me in the chair after the amateur blow drying. She gave me a press and curl. I didn't ask for that. They were very unprofessional while doing my hair and didn't consider the fact that I have a life and things to do and the student asked me what I was doing that day to waste all my time and f up my hair and my mother was waiting outside for me for hours and the hairstyle turned out garbage. The student was very very nice but she burned my scalp and gave me heat damage. I literally was crying while she was doing my hair. What's insane is that it was so obvious the student knew the hairstyle was hideous. It was so bad I got rid of the hairstyle the same day and got a barber to cut off all my hair cause the owner didn't wanna even my hair out with her lazy trifling self. the owner burned my edges that were already thin with the iron even tho I was showing I was in pain. In the washing process (took way too long) they added a chemical in my hair that I wasn't aware of cause it's supposed to be wash and condition but she did three different things in my head and during the third process which was conditioner cause I could tell the second process was shampooing the left side of my head was burning and it left a stinging burning bump on the left side of my head. It was and still is stinging. I know how to do natural hair and nurture it but I wanted a nice cut to even my hair out and they definitely did not nurture my hair but damage it. I learned how to do and take care of natural hair for 6 years. I never leave reviews but I don't want someone to experience what I did. I was scammed!! I'm calling my bank to get my money back. I have been coming to Shi-Shi's Lounge since it opened. I love coming to a salon where the atmosphere is quiet and the people are professional. I commute from Boston and come there not because there are no stylist in Boston but because the owner Eurayshia is about hair care and won't just do anything to my hair. I fell in love with the product Round Trip a Paul Mitchell product that brings out the natural curls in my hair. I use it all the time for the summer to the point that I replaced my bottle twice over. I recommend the salon to anyone who compliments my hair and tell them that the commute is worth it. Besides the good pastries, tea, coffee and one on one service. You are always made to feel welcome and its a great place for intellectual conversation that makes you feel as though you are with your girlfriends. read more

I needed my hair done and was ecstatic to see such a welcoming staff and relaxed atmosphere at Shi-Shi's Lounge. I am very picky with my hair and Eurayshia (owner) listened and gave great advise as she styled my hair. The stylists are very knowledgeable about skin care as well as their quality products. I have received many compliments on my hair and recommend this place to all my friends. This salon has the convenience of being close to a local college and off a major street. You would never know it though because it is so quiet and not a lot of traffic. My hair is healthier since going to Shi Shi's Lounge, I plan on being a regular. read more

Ray Ray is very knowledgeable and is willing to work with you in order to get your hair where you want it to be and keep it healthy. I searched high and low for a black salon in worcester and was so happy to find Shi-Shi's. The salon is also very professional and uses high end products. The prices are budget friendly. I would recommend Ray Ray to any woman regardless of their hair texture! read more

I really wanted to love this salon. I went a few months ago for a trim and press on natural hair. Ever since that trim, I've had the worst split ends that I have ever seen in my life. My hair is always breaking, and it's in terrible condition. I want to go back to give it another try. The ladies seemed knowledgeable and nice.
