Wish this could be positive. We had very high hopes when going to Dr. Hyman's clinic. We honestly…read morefelt so blessed to discover they were located within the same state as us. However, our experience has ended on a negative note, after working with the clinic for seven months. The only way to summarize all our complaints into one is to say that the care my daughter received was not patient centered. The care is clinic centered. There's a lot of gatekeeping as far as access to the professionals. It takes days to weeks to get responses in the portal, which the clinic prefers you use as your primary means to communicate with the team. I will provide three more examples of how this clinic put what they wanted ahead of what my daughter needed. The first example was when the team initially decided that my daughter's issue was an eating disorder, not a medical issue. Her assigned doctor and team had decided this before even waiting for her lab results. And when they decided this, they had someone we had never spoken to before, Kelly, call us over the phone and tell us their opinion while my daughter )was sitting with me. they also said they need to pause her care because of this .It was not handled with any kind of care or compassion. however, when the lab results came back and showed that she was actually suffering from a medical condition, our main doctor said he understood why "someone" would've diagnosed her with an eating disorder even though she doesn't have one. however, that "Someone" was him. I also found after a discussion with Kelly that she had been led to believe before talking to us about the eating disorder that we had already been approached about it by the nutritionist and doctor. This was 100% untrue. When she contacted us to talk to us about it was the very first time either of us had heard about it. The second thing that happened that stands out, was when my daughter's doctor accused her of lying about what she was eating. When I actually confronted him on the phone about accusing her of lying, he then backpedal and called it "food amnesia". It's not that I don't believe food amnesia exists, but that's not what was happening here. My daughter lives with me, goes to school in our house, doesn't really go out socially because of her illness, and I'm telling you right now as someone who has a long history of battling these illnesses and who also has OCD, she does not lie about what she eats. And after he accused her of that, our trust in him pretty much went out the window. In the same conversation when I told him I wanted to talk more about the role her mental health was playing. he said he didn't want to. So I guess that means the doctor gets to only discuss his own agenda. The final thing that happened, was when we requested the Center to assign us a new doctor, because my daughter no longer trusted her current one. There was a lot of back-and-forth meetings and discussions and at the end of them all they made us stick with the same doctor. And as a social worker, as someone who works daily to advocate for my patients, I feel very strongly that the clinic did this for their own benefit and not for my daughters. if I had found out that any of my patients had a doctor that accused them of lying, I would've reported that Dr and denied him from providing future care for my patient. Not only did he insult her, but he didn't even reach out after our complaint to apologize. You know this was a 17 year old girl they were dealing with, not a 50-year-old woman. I could bite my tongue if I had to and try to move forward with trust, but I don't expect my daughter who's been through four years of these accusations to endure that. Anyone who's been suffering from her kind of conditions knows that you go through lots of traditional doctors before you find out functional medicine is the only hope. Those traditional doctors look at you and tell you there's nothing wrong. They make you doubt yourself enough. We didn't need the functional medicine doctor doing the same. I believe the only positive this place provided was that it ran a slew of tests that no other doctor prior had done. Those tests were helpful in getting us a diagnosis and providing us with some direction on next steps. I will also say that the dietitian, although she didn't really succeed in helping my daughter, at least tried and had a very good heart and was patient with all my daughter's questions and concerns. Meanwhile the doctor eventually told my daughter she just had to live with the situation and she would eventually grow out of it. "It's not gonna kill you." My daughter has done a ton and tons of research on her own and we know that's not true. We are now moving on and trying to find a different clinic that can truly help her. And we did spend a fortune getting care here, but we knew we would ahead of time. We just hoped that price tag would've produced better results.

Some equipment out of order (SaO2 machine, scale), water cooler empty and no cups, magazines out of date and sucky, the new practitioner is just that; new. Green at the gills - ex: I work in healthcare and out of habit, often write medical shorthand/acronyms. She didn't even know TBI. Hm. And asked questions redundantly, like she wasn't absorbing it the first time. All in all, good experience. Practitioner really listens (although the second time around!) and doesn't interject her own opinion of past methods of care. When you move as much as we do, that's a plus.

I have never dealt with anyone more unprofessional!!! She was constantly interrupting me, yelling at me and telling me I was lying! Outrageous behavior! This is what had occurred ... After many friends and acquaintances had told us about the wonderful treatment they had received from Dr. Stephen Kisiel, DO, I set up an appointment for our daughter who is dealing with functional scoliosis. On July 31, 2013 my daughter was seen by Dr. Kisiel. She had her new patient visit as well as an Osteopathic manipulation. We were very happy with the treatment! Dr. Kisiel told us to come two more times before he was going to be out of the office in August. The front desk was having a hard time fitting us in when Dr. Kisiel came out and told them to give us the appointments. The receptionist told us that she would have to look at the schedule in more detail and call us in a couple of days with the appointment times. When she called I was told that unfortunately they couldn't fit my daughter in to the schedule. I was not happy with them scheduling a new patient visit with out being able to follow up with treatments. We were told that she might be able to getting at the end of September. I asked why they waisted our time and my money when they couldn't follow through on treatment? I also told them that I would expect the previous appointment to be null and void and we could start over when they could actually fit my daughter in to the schedule. Then I was told that they didn't operate that way and they were doing the best they could. Well that might be there best, but I'm not willing to pay for mediocre service and I expected them to comp the first treatment. I was told they would call me back. Never heard from the office again until I got a bill in the mail. My insurance company paid for part of the bill, and I talk the office and told them again what I expected. I never heard back until I called them again today. Never expected to be called a lair and to be yelled at...That office lacks integrity

EXTREME WARNING - DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE…read more Your personal and private information is absolutely NOT safe at Berkshire Medical Center's HR Department in Pittsfield. I went in expecting professionalism, but instead overheard the front desk secretary, Linda Fenn, openly gossiping with another HR employee about a staff member's highly personal details. This wasn't just harmless chatter--it included things like addresses, names, and even appointment information. This is a gross violation of privacy and completely unacceptable in a medical environment. When I raised my concerns, I was brushed off with, "Linda has been here forever, we take her word over yours any day." Translation? Complaints are ignored, and employees' rights to confidentiality mean nothing here. It's a toxic, unsafe, and unethical environment. If you value your privacy, your dignity, or even basic respect, STAY FAR AWAY from this HR department. Linda Fenn has no business handling sensitive information, yet she continues to do so unchecked. What I witnessed is not just unprofessional--it feels illegal, and it should make anyone question how many people's private records have already been leaked. Bottom line: Berkshire Medical Center HR in Pittsfield is dangerous. Your personal data is treated like gossip fodder. Don't risk it. Don't trust them. Don't go here.

I had a traumatic and very difficult delivery, which I attribute to many factors, one being Dr. Service's lack of attention and hurriedness. I expected a difficult recovery, but as my pain became more and more severe as the weeks progressed, I became concerned. I called her office more than once a week for a six week period and was continuously told my pain was normal and was to be expected. I knew something wasn't right, and was hoping another doctor in the practice would be able to shed some light on my issue. I saw another physician for my 6 week postpartum checkup and a growth was discovered. I was told I needed to have surgery, and it was scheduled for the following day. I can't help but wonder if this surgery could have been avoided, had Dr. Service paid any attention to my complaints. I have filed formal complaints with multiple people regarding the lack of care I received. Since this incident, I have (unfortunately) had to phone the after-hours line at her practice, and spoke to her when she was on-call. Instead of acting professional, she immediately became combative and insisted on discussing why I felt it was ok to write a formal complaint. Her behavior is unprofessional, immature, and totally irresponsible. The type of behavior she exhibits belongs in a 5th grade classroom, NOT in medical setting. Please, think twice and do your research (a simple internet search will bring up multiple negative reviews).
