There are a ton of flooring places to choose from - don't risk using this one!…read moreWasatch Back Paint and Floor installed laminate flooring in my home in Midway In July 2024. About a week in, the floor started to buckle so my husband informed them and they said they would come to the house, take a look, and get whatever the issue was fixed. Several weeks went by with repeated calls texts and an in-person visit from my husband without them coming to the house. He was finally too upset to ask anymore so I went in, and they arrived the next day (weird but okay). By this point the problem had spread to every room in our home. I think they thought they had messed up the measurements and the floor was too big and that was why it buckled (at least that was what I overheard). When they began pulling up the laminate, there was mold growing underneath that had not been there. This was not NECESSARILY their fault - we have an old home sitting on hot pots and had only ever had carpet, so when we put the laminate in humidity got trapped in the crawl space and wrecked the floor (and the subfloor). We are now doing a costly repair out of pocket. However, it's likely this may have happened with a different company and was just one of those things. But - if they had come out sooner, it would not have spread to the other rooms in the house and there would be less damage to repair. In addition, when we realized the repair would be out of pocket, I spoke to the owner Dan and asked if he would work with me on a new floor cost-wise, and he said yes. When we got that bid, his version of "working with us" was to reduce the original cost of the floor and install by 300 dollars, making it 9700 instead of 10000. Thanks? I went to a flooring company in Orem and got a bid for the same carpet and luxury vinyl plank for 6600. It appears to me, who is not necessarily educated about this stuff, they may have raised the bid by upcharging the install. I am not alleging that they definitely did this - but, it appears they MIGHT have. One basis I have for this is that they installed a cork layer underneath the laminate that I have since discovered is one of the most expensive options for this sort of install. Again, not wrong, but just very willing to take advantage of how dumb I am about this stuff. We were told it was a moisture barrier, but its not clear that it is. It also seems that since the floor is over a dirt floor crawl space, a more conscientious company may have chosen to put a different kind of vapor barrier down. Especially one that works in the Heber Valley. Again, that's just a maybe. Lastly, being dumb about this stuff, I thought I purchased and installed LVP aka luxury vinyl planking. I actually bought and had installed laminate. The cost is roughly the same, and I'm sure the various salespeople we worked with thought I knew what I was purchasing, so I take responsibility for that. But a more conscientious company might have taken the time to explain that laminate is really hard and temperature sensitive and expands and contracts, as well as being a very hard floor to put over my particle board sub-floor which also expands and contracts. Had I understood that, I would not have chosen it. Of course, they may not know the difference themselves, but if they do, the other option is that they thought we knew or didn't care if we did. None of these things were illegal or even necessarily unethical, but with so many choices for flooring in heber and Utah, it seems really risky to use these guys, based on my experience.

I feel these guys are unethical, the sales guy Nate Washington cares nothing about people or your…read moreproject, but rather dollar bills. The owners son was running the company and was doing an ok job until his dad the owner had a heart attack, then he left and went to a different carpet company, while his dad was in laid up in the hospital !!! One of their main guys is a tall viking who has a disheveled appearance and smells terrrible( i told him as well) and does just enough to get by. All of this is just surface stuff. Ive seen them cut corners quite often at the customers expense, make promises they know they cant, or wont keep. I would not choose this company as it is ran by the second oldest son who does not want the job ,and is often loathing about his responsibilities.. I also feel this company does not manage their finances well, as employees waited more than 5 weeks to get a paycheck , and still owed 2 more full checks. I was sent down to a vendor in slc with a check for 13,000 while employees were not even paid a dime.I would steer clear of this company at all cost, but go ahead and roll the dice , you may have good experience , but with weak, lackadaisical leadership, finances and workers you are just risking your money!! You can do alot better. I have seen a lot of great ,completed ,finished projects but lately with all that has happened there has been a sharp decline in performance. My brother inlaw was going to sign a flooring bid, but after learning of alll of this he wisely declined, He got a bid on paint for $49,000 dollars which is severly inflated thanks to Nate, that bid should have been under 25,000 easy. The sales and operations team do not communicate welll, or at all. they are using an app called floorz app that a lot of people there dont know how to use or want to use as it is verty hard to use and counter- intuitive. This app is deemed the"God of App" yet know one is proficient in it. My neighbor got flooring through them and it was hell, they treated her like nothing, except for the owner who did care, and delayed her project for weeks, and it still is not alll the way completed. the commission on a sale of 3600.00 project............110 dollars!!!!! In closing I may sound disgruntled , it is because I am i seen a lot of shiest underhanded stuff in this business. Im not willing to sell my integrity to just make someone look bad, no you would have to have earned it .

I had previously called and asked which plants would be the most suitable for beginners. (They are very responsive on the phone, which is great!) They told me that there will be people who could help me out at the store. Yet, when I arrived nobody greeted or helped out. When I asked for tips from two workers, they said they were not sure. So, I had to walk around to ask different workers. I was quite disappointed with the help and knowledge of the workers. As I was mainly looking at house plants, I must say that I was quite disappointed with some of the plants that I was previously eyeing. There were leaves that were broken off and wilting. Yet, I also managed to find other plants that looked so pretty! I love the selection of the pots and think that they are a good price in comparison to other online stores. I loved how they also helped me repot my plants for free as I purchased the pot AND the plant from the store (their requirement for free potting).

Some plants did and a lot did not. There were no workers to be found. It was like a ghost town. when I did find the price of the plants they over charged. I go to plant nurseries all over Utah and can find the same plants for half the cost and way more healthy. Shades used to be way better maintained but every time I've stopped by it seems like are becoming less and less maintained. I use to brag about this place but after today I just won't be back until they start to be organized, maintain their plants and have more affordable pricing. They are pricing out their customers.
