Do you ever wonder the frequent occasions in one's lifetime we would face the challenge of choosing…read morea paint color? As a homeowner, I have been mystified by the quest to find the perfect paint color. It seems there are just too many paints color options. The reason I believe it has become so much more difficult is because there are too many shades of colors. Such as the color white, one would be surprised the number of shades of white one can explore. Once you have decided to refresh your homes appearance with new colors, the next challenge is all the various retail stores to choose from and the choice of manufacture. Our retail paint store choice has always been Aboff's Paints, and our paint manufacturer Benjamin Moore. The service that we have received from Aboff's has always been outstanding. Our problem has always been choice of paint color, not paint manufacturer. Unfortunately, Benjamin Moore, has over 3,500 colors to choose from, which is incredible. Aboff's has been complimentary in most cases on our final choices, which does help a little bit.

They are racist, sexist, rude, and incompetent…read more I needed white paint for a bedroom, and they sold me an eggshell finish. When my painter saw the two gallons of paint, he immediately asked why the finish was in eggshell and that the walls would be super shiny. This is more for a bathroom. I called Aboff's and told them about the situation and asked if there was any way they could take it back as the paints totaled $98.00. Instead of apologizing about the inconvenience, the worker started raising his voice and said eggshell is his most popular finish and that's what he would use on his walls and that if I wanted a flat finish I should have said so. But I do not work at a paint store and do not have knowledge on this stuff, and that is why I specifically told them that it was for a bedroom and asked them what to get. Even if the finish is a personal choice, the way they spoke to me and handled the issue was horrible. Never going back.

OMG, how am I the first one to write a review for this place? I believe they've been around for a…read morecouple of years at least and they already have lots of reviews on Google (c'mon, Yelpers!) I believe I discovered them over a year ago while driving through Newtown on the way to another event. They were closed at the time but I remembered the name on the sign. I was able to go back just last week. My only problem with the store is the hours- I'm not entirely sure when they're open but they were closed both times I passed by in 2018. However, just about everything else is great. This is a consignment shop filled with (traditionally men's) items such as tools, home decor, electronics, camping gear, etc. The prices are clearly marked. The prices are decent if you make sure you set your expectations correctly. I like yardsale prices, but when you have a store to run (with the requisite expenses and returns), the items have to be priced a bit higher. The staff (appears to be a married couple) are very nice and not at all pushy. In fact, I got a great deal at checkout on two items that I got for the price of one. The woman at the register was super sweet. The tools and other small items are meticulously organized and presented, and while there are lots of used items, everything looks clean and in good working order. There are some bigger items out front (generators, wood chipper, etc). I definitely had a good experience here and would come back if possible. Google says they are open Tuesday through Saturday, but I am not sure.

There's an upstairs with a coffee table, a bean bag chair and two chairs (and lots of artists wares for sale on the wall). There are a few tables outside, so waiting until it's warm enough or ordering To-Go would be my suggestion. I shared pictures of the beautiful breakfast plates we received. The food was delicious! The sausage I asked for in my Eggs Benny was delicious! They were clearly homemade sausage that had a nice rosemary flavor. My husband's breakfast star was the chef made ham steak slices, and the rosemary sourdough toast. Yes, I recommend the food here! We were rather disappointed by the temperament of the person we assumed is the owner... when asked if they would please lower the music a little, because I'm healing from a traumatic brain injury (and it was blasting commercials and music; it wasn't a pleasant music track or album), said with an attitude "Sorry I can't control where the speakers are", and from that point seemed a lot less friendly. Her attitude didn't ruin the taste of the food, but this was a special outing (my first in 3 years since falling on black ice), near Goodspeed Opera House. This is a touristy area and people that run breakfast/brunch spots are usually friendly and eager to help with small requests. Often interactions with the restaurant staff adds greatly to the experience. Her sour grapes and refusal to help me feel comfortable by lowering it a smidge (I was already wearing noise cancelling ear buds, just so you understand how loud it was and that she didn't turn it down even a tiny bit), made breakfast less nice. We won't be returning ~ there are so many restaurants struggling to survive after Covid, we'd rather spend our time and money there.
