On each and every project they executed superior results that surpassed my expectations each time. Over the past 7 months Color Wonders Painting has transformed my house. Tony along with his assistant Adam have painted almost every room in my house including the garage and basement ceiling. Tony is honest, trustworthy and quoted me a fair price for each project. But more importantly he made sure the job was done correctly. Tony treated my house like his own and ensured a high quality and complete job on every project. Tony always gave me sound advice and I trust his painting expertise. I'm thrilled with all the work Color Wonders Painting executed and the amazing transformation of my house. Thank you very much Tony and Adam for the excellent work you did! I would highly recommend Color Wonders painting for anyone looking for high quality painting inside or out and at a fair price.

The crew arrived exactly on time, was highly sensitive to the surroundings, maintained a professional work attitude and cleaned up thoroughly when they finished. In eight hours, the crew expertly finished the ceilings, trim, doors and walls of a mud room, laundry room, two lavatories, a full bathroom and a great room. The finished product is a perfect job, clean, and fresh. High recommendation for their business. They truly are exceptional and by far the best paint contractors I have hired in the past forty years.

They are a bit more than some other guys but I never once did I feel something was going to be stolen or the job wasn't going to get done as best it could be. Did I mention fast? Some other painters told me they'd be there for about 4 days and the Keider guys knocked it out in a day!!! It was great not to have to come home to tons of dust in the air and painting supplies all over the place. I hear they do exteriors too, I can only guess the same quality is put forth there. If you're anywhere near the Livingston County area, you should give them a try.

We were new in US and bought a house in Troy MI beginning September 2021. Due to shortage of labor…read moreit was difficult to get a good painter to paint our newly bought house as we were getting appointments only in October whereas kids schools had started from Aug 1st and we were to vacate temp accommodation by Sep 15th. My wife found on Yelp , Jason's contact and we called him. Very next day he came all the way to Troy and we discussed colors and high level pricing and requested Jason to come after 3 days for on-site check and final discussion on colors timing cost etc. in the meantime Jason adviced us to visit paint shops and select color shades and also advices his recommendation on colors for ascent wall. We met on day of possession on-site finalized colors cost timing. Jason asked for 2 days to start work and he could give us following 5complete days out of 7days. Work was completed on time with almost no complains everything was on time other than a day partially lost because of no electricity in the area/ sub-division. Color schemes came up very well. Jason also promised that he will come over in next 2 months to touch up if anything requires touch up though we did carry inspection. But as one understand due to weather , temp changes or roughness on walls there can be areas where you see different shade of color. We didn't get time to call him as got occupied in other settling issues but will call him soon and feel sure he will be cooperative to give us 2-3hrs for touch up. His on time delivery of work to our satisfaction was key for us to move to our home before temp accommodation expiry which was 2 weeks from possession and without Jason's help would have been difficult. Strongly recommend Jason and team for painting work and we will be in touch with them soon for touch ups and then after 8 months say in April-May for basement painting finish.

The crew that came out to the house was fantastic. They made sure we were aware of everything going on. They cleaned up everything, and were really enjoyable to work with. we really look forward to using MacFarland again for our next project.

Two stars is frankly generous…read more We chose MacFarland based on their portfolio and salesperson Tom, who provided a detailed quote for shadow box wall trim and painting in our living room, archway trim and casing, and raised wainscot paneling in our dining room. The work order clearly specified the materials and scope of work. Before the project began, I was told the crew would arrive Monday, April 20, 2026, and that I would receive a phone call confirming the start time. No call ever came. After receiving no response to my email, I took the day off work, only to learn late that morning that the crew would not be starting until Wednesday. Because of the uncertainty, I ultimately cancelled appointments with 25 clients for nothing. Poor communication became a recurring issue throughout the project. On at least four occasions, I had to proactively contact the office to determine whether the crew would actually be arriving as scheduled. Early in the project it became apparent that communication between the sales team, design consultant, and installation crew was poor. The installation team appeared to have a very different understanding of the work than what was described in the signed contract. While reviewing progress photos of the dining room, I discovered the crew was installing decorative wall trim to simulate wainscoting rather than the raised wainscot paneling explicitly listed in the work order. I contacted the office to point out that the work being performed did not match the signed agreement. I then received a call from division manager Nic. Rather than acknowledge the discrepancy, he repeatedly deflected responsibility. Among other things, I was told that Tom "shouldn't have written the order that way," that the AI rendering showed decorative trim, and that the company preferred its method because it was "more flexible." None of those explanations addressed the central issue: the signed contract clearly specified raised wainscot paneling. When Nic eventually stated that paneling could be installed but would take months, I concluded there would be no accountability for the mistake. Rather than risk extended delays and continued conflict, I agreed to let the work proceed as-is. My primary concern at that point was simply getting the project completed and the crew out of my house. To the crew's credit, they were generally friendly and returned for touch-ups when requested. However, there were numerous quality-control issues. Newly installed electrical outlets were painted over (I had to use nail polish remover to remove the paint), paint ended up on floors and fixtures throughout the house, and some visible areas were left unpainted because it was assumed they would not be noticed. After I had laid down additional drop cloths to protect my hardwood floors (I ultimately decided to paint the ceiling myself), those coverings were removed by the crew and paint was subsequently spilled on the floors during the final touch-up work. Worst of all, there was sanding dust everywhere. I live in a 1930s home with lead-based paint. The company ultimately removed the archway work from the invoice after recognizing I would not be satisfied with the proposed approach. I will be purchasing an archway kit and completing that portion myself. My neighbor is a retired contractor. His take on the discrepancy between the work order and the work actually done? "That's bullshit." Two weeks later, I am still waiting for the follow-up phone call I was told I would receive on Google. I've never worked with such an unprofessional contractor. Consider the second star as a concession for the excellent work of the salesperson, the design coordinator (for her color and trim recommendations), and the friendliness and diligence of the crew doing the install and painting.
