Stood there for maybe five minutes researching my options for paint store locally and posted my checkin. Decided to head over to Ace and picked up paint there. Not really my preference, but the lovely Mrs had left for the day and kind of wanted to surprise her with painting the room. The staff are helpful and the prices are definitely reduced, but the items in the store usually have scratches, dents, or other flaws. That being said, you can often find items that you can easily patch yourself or display in a way that minimizes the damage, if you're okay with that. I was nervous to visit during the pandemic, but we wanted to visit since we've been remodeling our house during the lockdown. The staff greeting shoppers outside were friendly and had hand sanitizer for everyone. They provided recommendations for social distancing in-store and explained when large item pick up would be. Once we got into the store, however, the idea of social distancing was out the window. Everyone had a mask on, but there were constantly people all around me, in the narrow aisle ways, squeezing past instead of taking a way around that was clearly available but would require a few more steps. I felt relatively uncomfortable and unsafe inside. As far as the products for sale go, they have a great variety -- chandeliers, lamps, sheets, curio cabinets, chairs, sofas, dining tables and chairs-- you name it! The prices are deeply discounted and the store even runs sales on top of the low prices. I found a unique lamp, a dining room chandelier, a laundry room light, and a chandelier for our rental property. Overall, my experienced at the Ballard Designs outlet was successful in terms of shopping, but the social distancing was lacking, so I felt nervous being there.
