They carry the best brands: Benjamin Moore, Graham and California Frescoat. If you follow the coverage of paint in Consumer Reports, California was the highest rated brand last year, and Bennie Moore is always close to the top. They can make your paint job last 10 years, rather than the standard five to seven years. The staff knows a lot about paint. They can tell you what kind to use and how to put it on. They'll warn you about problems you might encounter with the preparation and painting, if you can manage to get to the store when they are not too busy and talk to them about your project. They have a great selection of tools and supplies, and everything is well organized. I never end up wandering around wishing I could find the right thing, which does happen at Lowe's. Yes, the paint sells for $30 to $65 and per gallon, but that's what real paint costs. You can get paint for as little as $16 per gallon at Lowe's, but I wouldn't use their paint outdoors; indoors it can probably hold because it doesn't have to stand up to the weather. Anderson's also has a store on Stadium Boulevard, north of Stadium and Liberty, and that's the store I've been using since they closed the downtown store. But I have been into the Washtenaw store a couple of times and the staff is every bit as good as the other store. They did a good job putting together orders for different kinds of paint, including a couple of tough custom matches.

I bought the Ben, and now that I have more confidence in my painting skills, I want to buy Aura to paint several of my bedrooms. When the associate brought out the items, two of them were incorrect. After the associate verified the mistake, I was asked to wait while he retrieved the correct products. The customer service issues I experienced include: Incorrect items were provided despite the order confirmation indicating they were in stock. I waited while the associate attempted to retrieve the correct items, during which multiple other customers were able to retrieve their orders without delay. After being told the items were not in stock, I asked to cancel the order and was directed to Customer Service at the front of the store to process a refund, instead of resolving it at the pickup counter. Manager escalation did not result in any solution or goodwill gesture for the inconvenience; I was told nothing could be done. No alternative solutions were offered, such as shipping the items to me, which would have prevented additional trips. This experience reflects a breakdown in order accuracy and basic customer service. I hope this feedback is used to improve the pickup process and customer support. The purpose of choosing this location was the online indication that the items were in stock and ready for pickup.

I hear a voice from the service counter saying I'm Joe and I can help you design whatever you need. I smiled and said yes pleas and thank you sir. Before I knew it we finished both designed and I had the materials list and design drawing printed out and ready to submit to the city. I love how Manards has everything I need for any project. Plus the 11% always saves some cash for other projects. This Manards is well organized and well stocked. Plenty of parking and the service keeps me coming back as well. I brought along a couple of old Benjamin Moore paint cans that were about seven years old assuming I'd need to replace them. Instead of trying to sell me two new gallons at $50 each, the staff inspected the paint, found it was still in good condition, and offered to strain, thin, and repackage it into new cans. The total cost to me was about $10. I also had a few basic questions about how to properly retouch the walls, and the staff took the time to explain everything to me in detail. It's rare to walk into a business for the first time and encounter such a customer-focused approach. I highly recommend supporting this store. It also felt great to give my business to a local paint shop rather than a big-box chain.

We had tried a few simple home solutions, weather stripping and adjustments to the hinges. We had some slight improvement, but it became clear the doors were in need of service. We had received recommendations to contact home depot and request an evaluation. The estimator cost forty dollars. He came out and they've provided us with useful information about our home. He left us feeling pretty good, even went so far as to offer that they could rehang the same size doors in the space, and that it might be of interest to save our trim because it was obviously high quality and expensive. Enter "Luna." Luna is the upsell agent that works inside home depot for the ordering and installation process. She called while we were on the road. We weren't able to have a complete conversation, but what she did impart was that the doors would need to be custom ordered. This created some confusion. Over the series of the next six emails, I asked, why. Each time the answer I got back was "trust me bro." Finally, I stated that the estimator had clearly given us different information and asked for the measurements. The terse reply I received was that the measurements are for in store use only. And would not be shared. Literally "trust me bro." So I'm out $40 for a bogus estimate that I didn't actually receive. I've taken time out of my busy schedule to allow someone into my home with the promise to do work for me. And i've received nothing. I can see why home depot has a two star rating from this location. Fortunately there is a Lowe's nearby. And I can always file for fraud protection on my card. I will also contact the better business bureau and the state of michigan to report that I was denied an estimate in writing for work.
