Store is always clean and well organized. It's big. A lot to look at while you shop. My most recent order was an online purchase that was delivered by door dash. Delivered the next day as requested. Cashiers are so nice. Management is soooo rude. Went to return something and waited in line. I understand stores can be understaffed at times, so I was trying to be patient. The cashier was struggling to deal with this line by herself, and I clearly heard her call for help multiple times, but no one came. She ultimately needed a manager, and one came down for her. This manager had the rudest, snarkiest attitude I had ever seen and berated the cashier as to why the line was so long. This is not the first time I've seen her be rude to her employees. She's also very rude to customers. She has an attitude and talks to everyone as if they're stupid or beneath her, and I've heard from other employees that she's made people cry and is always yelling. She wears glasses and has an accent. Menards, do better and find management who values employees the way they should be valued. When the associate brought out the items, two of them were incorrect. After the associate verified the mistake, I was asked to wait while he retrieved the correct products. The customer service issues I experienced include: Incorrect items were provided despite the order confirmation indicating they were in stock. I waited while the associate attempted to retrieve the correct items, during which multiple other customers were able to retrieve their orders without delay. After being told the items were not in stock, I asked to cancel the order and was directed to Customer Service at the front of the store to process a refund, instead of resolving it at the pickup counter. Manager escalation did not result in any solution or goodwill gesture for the inconvenience; I was told nothing could be done. No alternative solutions were offered, such as shipping the items to me, which would have prevented additional trips. This experience reflects a breakdown in order accuracy and basic customer service. I hope this feedback is used to improve the pickup process and customer support. Joe was the man. I was waiting to design a deck and a fence for a house in Livonia I'm flipping. Manards has 2 self design stations to use but today was busy and I was waiting patiently. I hear a voice from the service counter saying I'm Joe and I can help you design whatever you need. I smiled and said yes pleas and thank you sir. Before I knew it we finished both designed and I had the materials list and design drawing printed out and ready to submit to the city. I love how Manards has everything I need for any project. Plus the 11% always saves some cash for other projects. This Manards is well organized and well stocked. Plenty of parking and the service keeps me coming back as well. Do not order anything from this location. They demanded a 25% restocking fee, even though it was entirely their fault for selling the wrong sized product. We clearly presented the order showing what was supposed to be delivered. We were told the restocking fee was going to be over $ 70. And the assistant manager was rude and refused to waive the restocking fee from the beginning. He suggested it was our problem. So we asked to speak to the GM, which is who we started the conversation with in the front of the building, but she made us move to the back to Speak with the Assistant Mgr. Eventually the GM returned. She said she could not waive the restocking fee, but suggested she was going to make it right. She stepped aside and took and made several calls from other people, making us wait for quite some time and then changed her mind. After making us waiting the whole time, she then told me she'd be back in a minute, but walked away instead and left us with the assistant manager Ron, (a.k.a. Ronald McDonald), according to another employee. Ron was argumentative from the get-go and told us there was no way we were getting out of the restocking fee. Which is what he told us once again once she left. I went back up to the front to talk with the GM and asked her why she didn't confront us instead of leaving assistant manager (Rude Ron) to do her dirty work. Before we left a different employee, apologized for what was happening. He said, Ron is always stubborn and rude to both customers and employees. PS - I never raised my voice and was never Kurt with anyone. I simply tried to make our case for not having to pay the restocking fee. We simply wanted to return the item and get the proper size that we originally ordered. Sadly we were told that wasn't possible. Delivery Service- " Zone One" is terrible- they were supposed to deliver 9am- 2pm, at 2:30 no delivery came- so I called they girl in the office sent me a text message that it was 11-4, but my original text said 9-2. then I get another text saying 4-5 pm. Even the manager at the Livonia store told me they are looking for another transport delivery co- due to numerous they have been receiving from customers over the past few months. Return policy is awful. I bought an Ariens lawnmower. It worked fine the 1st time. By the 3rd time I used it, the self-propelled front left wheel barely worked anymore and it took me 3 pulls to start rather than the 1 it took the first time. I noticed a rapid decline in overall performance after 3 weeks. I didn't want the piece of garbage anymore so after 3 weeks and 3 uses, I decided to return it. Menards says that if you put gas in gas powered items, you can't return them to the store. Seriously? So how do you know if it works if you don't put gas in it? And how do you know if it's going to keep performing like it should if you don't use it a time or 2. So now I have to go through the process of taking it to an authorized dealer, either getting it fixed or filling out a bunch of paperwork and whatever else it takes to return the piece of garbage of a lawn mower. I asked the manager what am I supposed to do about my lawn while I go through this process of possibly getting it fixed and she said I could always buy another lawnmower. Seriously? And not be able to return that one either? That's the kind of people that Menards hires as managers? I almost have to laugh at this whole situation cause it's so ridiculous. I used to be a fan of Menard's though after my experience today I'll say it's a cold day in hell if I ever go back. First I placed an online order for in stock merchandise at the Warren location. Then they backordered it. I needed the stuff ASAP so I looked at other stores. This Livonia location was the closest with inventory. Another online order, another clusterfuck. I drove the 30 miles to pick up my shit, waited in line, waited for my box, and the box had been opened (missing pieces). They couldn't find the other into they showed in stock AND weren't willing to adjust the price for the stuff I'd have to buy. The best part is they couldn't just cancel my order. I had to go to the customer service desk and wait in line again to get a goddamn refund. And I still need to go to Warren to get a refund since I can't cancel the online back order. read more

I'm definitely a fan in comparison to home Depot - they are truly winning. Customer service is great in helping figuring out what you need for your project. Let me give you a sample example: (A) I went to home Depot and I asked where something was, then she replied and pointed. (B) I went to Menard's and I asked where something was, then he replied and said I'll take u to make sure you find the correct item. I also love their displays - there's multiple actual examples instead of a poster board showing a picture of the example. Please note - large pickup order can be retrieved from the rear of the building; either walk through or drive to the back. Awful delivery services. Ordered a washer paid $100 for delivery. Delivery driver told me it was a garage delivery and that for $20 additional they'd take the washer in to the basement. Get yourself some bulk deals on Mixed Nuts, Proctor and Gamble Shampoo, and a pair of Ansell ActivArmor work gloves to do that work you've been postponing in the garage of your split level, mid century ranch house in an inner ring suburb. Superior points on Home Depot include better selections of hand tools, fasteners, finishes, trim, and most household hardware with a couple of minor exceptions. I went to Menards today to pick up my nephews birthday gift. This particular item as well as the girls version was marked via the sticker on the shelf under the item from $39.99 to $34.99 in the clearance section of closet organization. We get to the register and much to our surprise it rings up at the original price of $39.99. We notify the cashier that the amount isn't correct and the front end lead comes to assist. First she doesn't listen to me about where we picked up the item and calls over to the wrong department and says its still on the shelf as regular price. I offer to go over there with the front end lead to show her the tags and she says "I can not leave from up here". Finally she listens and calls over to the organization department where the lady says that the item next to it was the one on clearance. How could that be when there was TWO stickers, one for the pastel and one for the primary version? The front end lead then says well the person is in the department and you can meet her over there. I walk all the way over there and guess what? BOTH OF THE CLEARANCE TAGS WERE REMOVED! I go back up to the front clearly upset and ask for the corporate number where the person at the help desk was also no help at all, and said "Just so you know the corporate number is an automated system". I will be calling first thing in the morning. This is the absolute WORST customer service I have ever received at such a large business. Who in their right mind REMOVES CLEARANCE TAGS?! This would have NEVER happened if the front end lead walked over there with me to the department when I offered! Was told about this place by several relatives. This store is a cross between Petsmart, Home Depot, Lowes, DOT, etc all rolled into one. As with any Canadian shopping in the states, do your home work as prices are on par with what you'd pay at home. E.g.- a bathroom vanity light fixture was $95 at Costco in Windsor, here it was $119 US. However, some items are definitely cheaper, even with the exchange rate. I spied a deep sink laundry room vanity, with sink and faucet, on sale for $179US...cheapest I've seen in Windsor was around $300. Family members buy pool supplies here. They have Menards cash days, where you get 11% of your purchase back in Menards cash...definitely worth the trip over. Barn door tracks were $99...while they're well over $180 at home. Great place to wander around...wish we had one in Canada. read more

Do not get anything delivered from this location. You won't actually receive it! I ordered decking online. I paid for the decking and the delivery fee. About a week later, I got a call from Menards to schedule the delivery. We picked a delivery date which was A FULL MONTH LATER. The delivery day came, I had arranged my schedule around being able to do my deck on that day. By noon on the delivery day, when I still hadn't gotten a call, I called the store, only to find out that they had no plans to deliver my deck on the date that had been scheduled A MONTH PRIOR. The soonest they could do was the end of that week. My deck is still sitting open, getting rained on and exposed to the elements. I am out all the money that I paid for decking that I did not receive, but I do not have a deck. read more

This place is FANTASTIC! I cannot believe all that this place has to offer, some health and beauty, some food, some automotive, some some and more some. This is a home builder and lumber type store first but it's really so much more! They sell appliances, and furniture, and pool supplies, and even beds. They have a drive thru lumber yard that they will load into your vehicle for you. We spent an hour in there and was only able to scratch the surface. The workers were very helpful, friendly and willing to go the extra little bit, which for me is a big plus. One worker we chatted with, extended his hand and introduced himself and said if we needed anything to let him know. I know they are new, but I never saw this when other large stores opened in this area. I think my 2 favorite things I saw, was a self-serve automatic key maker, and a self-serve propane tank swap station, so you can come at any time and for just over $17 can swap out your tank at any time. Cool store with a lot of real estate that I think it will do very well. A little something for everyone. Would definitely recommend. read more

Menard's is a little known secret from my parts as I always think of Home Depot and Lowe's for anything home related. I went at the advice of a friend and found a great assortment of products. They carry patio furniture, toilets, sinks, beds, washers, paint, garden supplies, food, truck rental and everything in between. With that being said, you'll be in the store all day because it is huge. I typically don't make it in and out in less than one hour. There is a map, but I find it helpful to just ask a staff member. I have had them volunteer to walk me to the aisle for the product I was searching for. There are also some great rebate offers that they have regularly. The latest was good for shoppers who were buying big ticket items as it was an 11% rebate on total purchases for 2 weeks. If you go plan to do some walking, wandering and have a list to task. The bathroom is not in a convenient place as it is toward the cash registers on the other side of the store. The best part for me is the return policy. It is standard, but they have a kiosk in store that you can pull up your receipt with your credit card if you lose it. I've had to use it and it was fairly simple. Overall, Menard's is now my first stop for home items. They are also open late many days until 10 and have early hours. read more

Wish I could give ZERO stars. purchased HORRIBLE quality wood floors from them, called Great Lakes Wood Floors, Saddle Oak 3/4 x 3 Solid Hardwood Flooring throughout entire house. Bought it because of 50 year warranty. It's only been 5 years, and the floors are worn completely out. I've lived in homes with natural hardwood floors (80 yrs old house) , and Bruce brand hardwood floors (20 yrs old) and both held up BEAUTIFULLY. I chose Great Lakes because the warranty was better, and the price a little less, and I trusted MENARDS' to stand behind the stuff they sell. BIG mistake. They will not stand behind their warranty. Menards says all they can do is forward my claim to GLWF. (Thanks - NOT helpful). GLWF won't even send a rep out to look at the floors. I have had 2 experts out and both said it's just worn out from poor quality. GLWF says they're worn out from water damage. How can they say that without coming over to look? And, btw, there has never been water damage on my floors. Again, I've lived with wood floors for 40 years total, and I know how to maintain and clean them. BEWARE - horrible quality, you WILL be sorry - and Menards will not stand behind them, nor will GLWF (manufacturer). read more

The first time I stepped into Menards it was out of curiousity. Has the appearance of a mish mash between Home Depot and Walmart. Couples and families frequent the aisles together - perhaps brought in by the 'little something for everyone' that Menards offers. I came to purchase some cleaning goods, Menards carries a vast selection. On aisle ends they offer discounted goods like iPhone cases ranging from .99 to $4.00. If you're looking for iPhone 7 cases you're out of luck. If Menards gets a deal on a case of goods you get a deal! They carry books @ 31% discount for popular authors, John Grisham included. There are about 5 aisles of food. Looking through this section I tried to see the relevance. Canned spaghettios, large bags of dried fruit and nuts, all kinds of spam including some pretty unusual flavor like hickory and chipotle -- how are these things alike? Things people take on camping trips! I picked up a 7 in 1 screwdriver I really needed for 2 bucks. There is also a vast amount of candy, placed at end caps in assorted areas. For camping or tailgating they carried coolers as big as refrigerators. It's fair to say you could satisfy your need to have an item right away versus order online if you stop at Menards. They aren't just stocking 2 or 3 of anything they have. Menards is cool with me. read more

I step into Menard's in Livonia today. I ask where the gas grills are. I find them in the rear of the store. I wait 45 minutes for assistance. I ask several people wearing Menard's uniforms. Finally I get a great idea; I use my phone's internet connection, order and pay for the grill, go to package pickup,receive the grill. Walk to the front of the store and this idiot cashier tells me it's her job to check my purchase even though the receipt is taped to the box, AND my name is blazoned across the receipt. Guess what? Also was surprised to see a little mini grocery area, pet supplies, home things like blenders, bowls and a section of "as seen on TV" . Got a partial refund to my credit company after reporting them and the other payment in their "rebate aka store credit". There is no customer service phone # for online purchases it is all done via email. After reporting them to the BBB, the company response was " they could have charged a 25% re-stocking fee. Hard to do when they never had it in stock. The whole idea of a 11% rebate is to mark up merchandise 11% higher than the other big box stores and make you come into the store to spend it hopefully making a larger purchase. I usually go to the Mernards in Belleville or Wixom but the item I wanted was only in stock had the Livonia store. I went in and waited 30 minutes to talk to a gentleman who said he was plumbing not bathroom so I waited another 20 minutes to talk to someone about a bathroom mirror. He could not find the item and was swamped as the only person in the department. I worked with him to order the item for in store pick up so they could pull it over night and I could pick it up the next day. They showed 2 in stock when I purchased with 1 of the 2 being the display. Later in the evening I was notified my item was ready for pick up. I made the drive in again the next day and went back to order pick up. After 45 minutes of them looking for the item they claimed they had 4, presold 3 of them and had the display. I explained 1 of the 3 presold was mine. They stated they couldn't find it and I could have the broken beat up put together incorrectly display. I said no. They offered to order the item with a delivery date of 9/11/21. Yep over 5 months delivery. I asked for a refund. They made no offer to do right by me, no offer to remedy the issue, and would not even give me paperwork showing the return. 8 times out 10 I love Mernards. The other 2 times I am at this horrible store with horrible staff that all hate their jobs and their customers. read more
