Ten to twelve years ago I had the place painted by my Contractor's general workers. These workmen provided an excellent paint job at a reasonable cost. Unfortunately, this time I hired A G Willams. I did so because of A G William's reputation for excellence and superior work provided by skilled painters. The only thing "superior" about A G Williams is the high prices they charge. Beware.

I needed a dark grey color and went into this peace of crap store and showed the woman at the front desk the color I needed. I actually showed her my car. I took a look at the paint and said I wanted this one, "she says well it looks like it's a metallic grey and that I should take another color." Her suggestion was one that was more expensive, but I tried to trust her because maybe she actually knew something about the colors that I didn't. I decided to buy the color she suggested. She does not give me a receipt, I decide to say no big deal because I knew that I would need to test it before officially using it. I took one quick spray of the can to see if it even matched as she suggested and brought it back to the store to ask for the spray paint that I originally wanted. The woman without any concern for me as a customer says "We can't take it back if it was sprayed." What?!? Nice policy, but would make more sense if you gave me good advise as a customer service rep! You suggested this item, it's wrong and you won't even take it back. I could understand if I asked for my money back and or had used a ton of the paint, but a spray to see the color? Give me a break! I will never come here again.

Cruz, was incredibly helpful in helping me figure out how to touch up my railing with the small amount of paint I had left in the bottom of the can, which was buried under a crust that had formed over the past decades. Accordingly, I was able to complete my touch up without having to buy a quart of new paint, and to finish the job with a minimal amount of work and without having to repaint the entire railing. Jill Jurgensen a Color Consultant at Janovic on the Upper East side was exceptional. I am moving into a new apartment and had a color palette in mind but was not certain. After spending endless hours on pinterest and looking through design magazines I walked into the Janovic store without a decision. After a warm greeting Jill asked me some questions and looked at photo's of my new space and of the tear sheets I had. I showed her the colors I originally thought I wanted and within minutes she gave me other options explaining why and how the colors look saturated on an entire wall vs a small sample card. She gave me the new swatches, marked which room each was for, her card and offered additional assistance if I needed more information. I returned a few weeks later to re-assess and Jill was on her break. Although the other consultants offered to assist me I decided to wait for Jill. We reviewed the previous color options and again after some questions she was able to narrow the option to the colors that are now on my wall and I absolutely love. My only criticism was that it was somewhat hard to reach them at times. This was frustrating, especially because we wanted to get a quote on another 2 projects. After more than a week of trying to get a quote, I gave up. That said, the owner has a lot of knowledge about landscaping and does a good job and that goes a long way.
