Don't buy anything from this shop unless you want to not have the option to return it. Or, in my case, don't let anyone else buy anything FOR YOU from this shop unless you want the option to not return it. My husband bought me a pair of earrings and a bracelet/cuff on Mother's Day (May 8). He gave me the earrings on Mother's Day (I didn't love them but decided to just keep them anyway) and he gave me the cuff on my birthday (June 19). I really was not into the cuff - it's not my style at all. In fact, even he said he didn't think it was my style, but my mom/the saleslady pressured him into buying it. So, a week and a half later after receiving it (towards the end of June) I tried to return it for a store credit. The salesladies who were working there were very nice and were going to take it. Then the owner walked in. She has super bad energy. She inspected the bracelet and said there was a speck of dirt on it (for all I know, that's how they sold it to us, as I hadn't noticed it before and had only worn it to try it on). She said she wouldn't take it back. She angrily said to me, "why didn't you bring it back before? I could have sold it!" (What a way to treat a customer, right?) I explained that yes, my husband bought me two items on Mother's Day but he just gave me the bracelet for my birthday a week and a half ago. (Also: I had my second baby on May 2 and was not getting out of the house that much at the time, he was only 8 weeks old at this time.) So she refused to take the $390 bracelet back and I'm just stuck with this item I don't like. I will NEVER patronize this shop again. And I've spent plenty of money there on brows, a facial, makeup and jewelry. I've told my husband to also never buy me anything from there again. The brow services are not even that good. I normally see Elke Von Freudenberg in the city for brows, who is much better and charges the same price, but I was not able to go to the city for brows due to the new baby. read more

I have been shopping for my wife here for years and Patricia and her staff are absolutely marvelous.

Patricia (Patti as I call her) is so nice and funny, it's hard to believe that she is an AMAZING make-up artist. But that she is. Having worked for Laura Mercier for many years, she knows her stuff. But despite her expertise and extensive experience (she has done make-up for photo shoots and is known throughout Westchester and Manhattan) she is extremely down-to-earth and low key. On the morning of my wedding, she effortlessly applied foundation that blended so perfectly into my skin and was of such high quality, that I couldn't even feel it on me. And although she obviously put a lot of make-up on my face (enough to keep it in tact from 12 in the afternoon to 5 o'clock the next morning), it looked totally natural and very elegant. She is a wonderful person and an extraordinary make-up artist. read more

One of my favorite stores anywhere. Patricia is amazing. I am from area, but live in San Francisco. Every time I come home, I visit Patty. She is an amazing makeup artist. She knows how to glam me up and make me look beautiful. Yesterday, she did a smokey eye and I got compliments all night. She's a funny, warm, wonderful person. Love her. She's also fantastic at brows. Am about to make an appointment with her for New Year's Eve.... I have been shopping at her store for many years and will continue to do so. The owner has the most amazing aura--I have known her for over 15 years and she is not only a good-hearted person but also a kick butt make-up artist. She's also the BEST at eyebrow tweezing! She does photo shoots and fashion show work too usually in NYC so it's a treat to have her in Bronxville. She did my make-up for my wedding and it was amazing--didn't budge yet looked natural. So talented! And the store is so much fun--you have to really look around because there are beautiful items everywhere! read more

Just had my first experience at Maison Rouge. Loved the staff and Patti, everyone was friendly, gracious and professional. However....I really didn't enjoy having a great facial and a fabulous eyebrow grooming (and both were outstanding) - sitting up in a straight chair in full view of 20 other people and passersby - There is absolutely no privacy for services. A small curtained nook would add to the place. The products for sale are top of the line, you won't generally find them in a dept store, ALL are super expensive, and there are no prices on anything. You could pick up a teeny tiny jar of some cream and it will be $300 when you get to the register. I guess in Bronxville, prices don't matter. Finally, blasting rock music detracted from the atmosphere. read more

I used to really like most of the staff here, which is why I was a return customer. However, there is a new staff member, with a french accent and whose name escapes me, who sold me a dried out, expensive liquid eye liner. Of course, there was some left, so at first, it seemed ok to the casual observer. Lasted about two weeks, so I used it about 8 times. It was probably a sample (yuck)!. I will never buy from her EVER again! I will be ordering online or going to Nordstrom to find what I need. Also, whenever I go in to find something, it is never in stock. Bottom line: deceiving, expensive and inconvenient! read more
