Maybe it's just me, but the first feature I take notice of when I look at a face are eyebrows. That is also why I was hoping, for the past nearly 3 months, that it was indeed just me who takes that weird, initial stock of a stranger's brows, as I was praying that no one was paying any attention to mine. I decided to grow mine out after my last crappy wax at the local nail salon visit. For the last 2 years, depending on which waxer I was (un)lucky enough to get, there were times I walked out of there looking like Drew Barrymore in Mad Love, and other times like Gaby Hoffmann in well, anything. Before that, I was having them done by a wax specialist on Ditmars who had a serious overbooking issue, and I often found myself waiting for an hour in a cramped room with other displeased clients whose various waxing appointments were all scheduled at the same time as mine. So, I decided it was time for a change. I had read good things about the Benefit Brow and made an appointment with Dana at the Queens Center Macy's a few weeks ago. I concur with all the other glowing reviews. My initial impression was how sweet and personable she was, and I felt so comfortable with her right away. She asked me what my concerns were (yes, my eyebrows often times come with concerns!) and what shape I would like them to take. She then meticulously mapped them out for me, showing me where they would start, arch and end. I was hesitant at first because I feared they may come out too thick, but she reassured me that all would be fine. And it most definitely was. She was detailed and thorough as she highlighted my brow bone and filled my brows. It was a Friday night, and the place was pretty busy but that didn't deter her from taking her time. I also liked that she didn't try to push any products on me- she just told me which ones she had used and I felt no pressure to buy. I did however purchase the Benefit brow gel because I loved how it looked on me, and I have since realized that it works much better than my usual Laura Mercier brow filler. The wax was definitely more expensive than the ordinary nail salon one ($21 + tax), but SO worth it. I have received several compliments on them since my visit. Apparently, I'm not the only one who notices eyebrows. I will definitely be back. read more

So after years of having my eyebrows over tweezed , waxed and threaded I decided to grow them out. It took me 5 months but I finally began to see my natural eyebrow again. I vowed that the next person I allowed near my eyebrows had to be not only licensed but would take the time to truly understand my true eyebrow shape. After reading amazing reviews about Nicole I decided to call and make an appointment. First of all this is not your local nail salon.......this is a professionally run business with licensed personnel who are super knowledgeable about the services they offer. Nicole gave me a 15 min consultation before she even waxed my eyebrows!!!! I loved that. She gave me the opportunity to tell her exactly what i wanted. I was a little nervous just because of all the bad experiences that i have had but once i meet Nicole she put all my fears to ease. It seriously doesn't get better than this place! Without exaggeration I can have anywhere from 5-10 strangers stop me a day to ask me where I get my brows done because they are always perfect. Ever since I tried them out for free on my birthday week years ago I've been hooked. Everyone takes the time to understand what you're looking to achieve with your brows and seriously pampers you. No more walking out a salon with redness having to hide behind sunglasses, since you get filled in and concealed. And best of all Benefit uses a specific pearl wax, that's WAY better than the ordinary type at wax spots. Shout out to Dana, my go to girl! I've always been picky about who does my brows and what they do to them but when I go to the brow bar I have no worries. I get my brows done by Nicole and she's absolutely AMAZING! If you're picky like me, I highly recommend you go visit Nicole. She won't do anything you don't like and I always leave with perfect brows. The Benefit Brow Bars are amazing. Yes, it is pricey ($21 for "brow mapping," trimming, waxing, tweezing), but I think it's worth it. I have received the best services at this location, and I'm now a regular here. Marjorie does my brows. She is patient and asks you how you want your eyebrows to be done. She is very gentle and doesn't fill them in too harshly. I only have to go once a month - I used to go every two weeks at this other place that messed up my brows :( highly recommend! I've been growing my brows out for awhile because I was sick of salons over-tweezing and waxing them. Nicole did an awesome job on my brows, she started with brow map to show me where my brows should start and end. While she was doing my brows she showed my some sparse spots where they needed to grow in but did not over tweeze and got them to look full. I liked that she showed me what they looked like before and after filling them in with makeup and showed me some eyebrow products but was not pushing anything on me! I love Nicole! She's a true professional! She definitely loves her job and it shows! She is extremely skilled and patient, and makes every appointment feel special. I'm glad I'm found her!!! I wanted to say what I great experience I had at the Brow Bar! Nicole was so helpful on getting me in on New Years Eve I had no appointment but she accommodated me as soon as she can. I get my eyebrows done here every 2 to 3 weeks. Yes it is 20 dollars which is pricy but I was spending 7 dollars every week at the nail salons and they looked horrible! Get your eyebrows done by Margarie or Dana. They will take care of you. The new manager isn't the nicest but pay no mind to her. The girls that work there are great!! My eyebrows don't need to be touched for almost a month now! I would recommend this place definitely. The makeup is also great. read more
