I don't usually leave bad reviews I just stop going to the location and thats it but I cant hold my tongue for this. I went today and there was one lady and a man at the cash register. I went in for threading and tint, the only lady there did my brows ok and then for tint she told me to sit in another chair so I'm just thinking the tinting supplies is at that station. The man from the cash register comes up to me to do my tinting (caught me by surprise) but I said well I guess he knows what he is doing. He DID NOT! He spread the tint on not following my eyebrow shape. I thought he was going to clean it up and carve it to be neat but he didn't. I felt that it was sloppy but when I looked in the mirror I couldn't really tell if it was clean because it was a distance away. Do NOT come here. I live right down the block and needed to get my eyebrows done so i decided to come to Renu. I've been growing out my eyebrows for a month and a half now and i told the lady this and said "I'd like them arched and to stay thick". She did the total opposite. First of all, she took off way too much. Second of all, she made them round instead of arched like i asked her too. Third of all, she made them TWO DIFFERENT SHAPES! They look awful to say the very least. I've attached a picture for you to see. If you have sensitive skin - I do not recommend threading. Been threading my eyebrows for a longgg time...and I never get comfortable doing it! Treading is painful (so is waxing) but it only lasts a few minutes and your eyebrows come out beautifully shaped versus waxing. I've tried both and waxing never gives me straight clean looking eyebrows. That's my opinion and if you have a different experience I'm happy for you! At this location you can find a few ladies who do a great job. They are very friendly but you have to explain what shape you want. It's no different than getting a haircut. Tell them what you want and dont want. Because eyebrow shapes can change and you have a vision in your head - just tell them exactly what you envision! There is street parking but it gets busy on the weekends so come on an odd night and you will be in and out in a flash! read more

Going on 5 years and it's still the ONLY place I trust with my brows. The staff are super nice and they truly take their time perfecting their brows. This is the only place that actually listens when you tell them you only want to CLEAN your eyebrows or shape them. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. I can go any day of the week and the waiting area is always packed. Come prepared with quarters for your parking or just download the parking app and pay through the app. There's parking right in front of the salon, on the side of the salon, and also in the back once you make the right turn into the parking lot. They are the only place I will get my brows threaded. They do an excellent job and are pretty quick, considering the volume of clients that come in. I have been coming to Renu to get my eyebrows threaded since 2005 and pray they never close their doors. They are simply the best!

I've been coming to Renu's for some time now and refuse to go else where. I really do love this place however I gave it 4 starts for the following: There's no real system in place to keep track of clients waiting. So it's your job to come in and ask who's the last person waiting. If it's your first time keep a careful eye for who's waiting, walking out, and coming in. There isn't a large waiting area so people are standing and sitting all over the place. If your waiting for someone in particular ask that person how many people they have ahead this will save you time if you're unable to wait long. You can't include gratuity on your card so take cash if you plan to tip. I've had the gentleman who sits at the register on one occasion charge me more purposely in order to get cash back so that I may tip, their card services doesn't provide the option to add gratuity after services have been paid. Although the gentleman did it for me he seemed annoyed by my request and stated "next time bring cash for tip". Which honestly bothered me, so save yourself the smart remark and ensure to bring cash for tip. read more

Great for eyebrow threading. They are one of the few places in Westchester to do threading, which I prefer over waxing. They do get very crowded on weekends and before holidays, so be prepared to wait and also make sure to scope out who is ahead of you and who arrives after you to keep track of your place in line. No one uses the number system. It's a small salon, they don't offer many services and I wouldn't recommend doing anything other than threading here. read more

I've been to a bunch of threading places and this place has actually been the most disappointing. I read the reviews on here to go the first chair, but my eyebrows pretty much looked the same as when I came in. Maybe she cleaned up the strays, but there was no nice shape to them...no flow. Usually I'm amazed after I get a threading done, but I was left wondering what she actually did. This is the first time I've ever had threading done that I have ever been disappointed. This is a hidden gem for great brows. All of the women are great at what they do here. Do not expect any bells and whistles because It is not he most aesthetically pleasing looking joint. But hey, that's not what you're coming for right? The one thing I'd change about this establishment is the inability to make appointments. I have had issues with getting perfect eyebrows since young when I had an incident that left a small scar on my left eyebrow. No one could actually shape it right due to the scar. Sometimes I would get lucky and get someone that did a better job than the previous, but wouldn't last long. This was a great experience. I didn't have an appointment, on a Friday Morning, but I didn't have to wait long to be attended. Neither did the rest of the walk-ins. I had the lady at the last chair (forgive if i can't recall her name right now) she was very courteous, I explained the situation. She shaped them perfectly but too thick for my taste, so I asked her to keep the shape but make them slightly thinner and she did a great job at that too. Unfortunately I don't live in the area but whenever I am in town, I will make sure to drop by with each trip. read more

I love this eye brow threading salon. I've been coming here for the past 5 years and they are amazing. I've gone to the same woman every time. When I first came here, my eyebrows were thin and not too shapely. She helped shaped them so perfect that my friends and coworkers always compliment me and ask me where do I get my eyebrows done. I even started to thread my upper lip. The woman was so sweet because I told her I was scared of the pain for my upper lip and she told me not to worry. So she waxed my upper lip first and then threaded it. I felt no pain after. Fazila is who I go to everytime but these women are all wonderful and have lots of clients. I love them. read more

They've gotten popular since my last visit, the last two times I have come in to standing room only and a long wait. There is no sign-in or any other way to tell who is next. I've visited this salon about six times being that I am new to the neighborhood. They do great work on eyebrows. However, they are not friendly and do not greet or communicate with their customers. I live in Yonkers and this seems like pretty much my only option for those desperate times I need to get my eyebrows done but I would not go here if I had any other option. I have been to many places in the city as well as in New Jersey for a much better price and service. The people here need to learn some customer service skills or at least greet people as they walk in. The problem is, since they have a monopoly on the eyebrow threading business in Yonkers, they couldn't care less. Every time I go here my eyebrows come out in a different shape. Clean, but not satisfyingly better. I have been to places in Edison, NJ where I came out feeling better about myself! Just got my eyebrows done, I rated then 4 stars because they do a good job at the threading but not so much of the customer service. But that's alright with me. You come in. They look at you. You sit down. And as soon as the next available chair is open they say next. You get your eyebrows threaded. No exchange of words they kinda just point you to sit down. Then give you a sound and tap your forehead so you hold your eye and brow apart. Then your done. You pay and tip. And you're on your marry way. This place is terrible...the girl at the register took me and I sat there literally 20 minutes telling her how to do her job. After the bicker back and forth she left with an attitude. I will admit that I am writing this review with a great deal of anger. I told my threadist that I was growing out my brows and that I would like to keep them thick for now and if she could please just do a little clean up. I walked out of this place with two wisps of nothing for eyebrows. I feel like crying because I grew them out for almost 6 months in order to correct a mistake made on my brows at another salon and now I am back to square one. Not for nothing, but if the workers cannot understand directions that their clients give to them, whether it be a language barrier or that they are too busy watching their soap opera on tv while they do your brows, then they shouldn't work there. Ummm. No I will not be going back to this place. The young girl who worked my eyebrows had no idea what she was doing. First she started threading from the ends of my eyebrows making them very short. Then she took off some hair off from the top and made a wide gap in the top. Thankfully my eyebrows grow quickly. read more
