It looks sort of small for a paint store from the outside, but they have paint, paint samples, a mixing and storage room in the back and (of course) a very helpful staff in the three times that we have been in there to choose paint colors for our contractor for partial painting of an 8-10 year old house. Colors galore! Almost too many for me to take in, for example, in the white shades there must be 10 or so of various shades of white. So, for other interior and exterior colors it blows the mind. Oh, and did I say that the staff was helpful and great? Recommend.

He let us take our paint chips outside to view the colors in different lights and gave us advise on a primer color to go underneath. We chose the paints and then we left to grab lunch while he made them up for us. They were ready for us when we returned- no problem! Later in the day, my husband decided he wanted one other color and we called Brandon and he made it up for us while my husband drove over there. They also keep all our purchases/colors in their computer. Great service!! Tip: Sherwin Williams has the best selection of "Historic Charleston" colors, but you have to ask for the chip selection because they don't keep them out in the main display.

I bought a brand-new front door lock from the James Island Lowe's and within weeks it completely…read morefailed. Not only did I have to pay out of pocket for a locksmith, but I was also told I would need to remove the entire lock from my front door and bring it into the store for help. That left my brand-new home with no lock at all, a huge safety risk. I spent over 2 hours on the phone with multiple Lowe's reps, being transferred around, hung up on, and told different things each time. The store manager even suggested I drive to another Lowe's an hour away, only for them to tell me they couldn't do any more than the first store. So after 3 plus hours on the phone, 2 separate stores, and a 2 hour round trip, I ended up right where I started with no working lock, no help, and wasted time and money. To make matters worse, all of this happened while my home sat completely unsecured with no one inside. This is unacceptable. Lowe's should be standing behind the products they sell and providing real solutions, not pushing the problem onto the customer, forcing unsafe situations, or making them jump through endless hoops. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, avoid Lowe's. Their customer service is beyond broken, and their treatment of customers in urgent situations is shameful.
