My visits were 2 years apart and I needed the exact same Venetian plaster I purchased the first time I had a hard time finding it so naturally I wish they had more staff but everyone can't be a quality employee at this place so I def rather a few subject matter experts as opposed to 100 ex-Home Depot employees. Anyway I went to the counter to pull up a 2 year old purchase and they found my purchase and made it for me again (it was custom) I also needed a protectant for it and one of the guys pointed me to the aisle and shared with me the difference between each and which one was best for my project.

But this shit hole deserves the effort. Every time I've been to this place, the guy has been EXTREMELY rude and unhelpful. I brushed it off as him having a bad day before, but it turns out he's just generally an asshole. Today I came in looking for an outdoor finish for a wood sign. I explained my project to the guy at the counter, and asked him if the lacquer that they had would last a long time, or would I have to re-finish it often. Instead of a straight forward answer, I got an eye-roll, and a "what lacquer?" "The only one you have over there", I said. Guy: "We have many." Me: "Okay, I only saw one, come, I'll show you which one I'm talking about" Guy: "So show me!" Me: "You're going to have to come there, because it's locked up, I can't bring it to you, and I just have this one question about it" Guy: "I answered your question!" Me: ??? At this point, with another eye-roll, he walks the 10 feet to the spray paint, and aggressively pokes his finger onto the acrylic door, behind which stands a spray can labeled "Household Spray Paint" Me: "Oh, I didn't realize this was lacquer, it just says "spray paint". I was talking about the one next to it. Would it last a long time if I spray it on wood, and hang it outside?" He mockingly points to the can where it says "Interior/Exterior" Me: "I understand that it's for exterior, I just want to know how long it'll last. Have you used it before?" At which point he snaps, starts walking away, and goes "I can't keep up with all your questions, do you want it or not?" Me: "I just wanted my question answered before I get anything." Guy: "I can't keep up with your questions, do you want it or not?!" I said "nope", and walked out in shock. Asked the same question at the hardware store across the street, where the guy suggested the lacquer I should use, made some jokes, rang me up, and I was out of there within two minutes. It was like night and day. I don't know what I did to this guy, but nobody should be treated with such disrespect and animosity, especially considering the fact that I was probably going to be one of like 2 or 3 customers this day. Unless it's a drug front, I can't see them making much money in the future.

They just want to sell you whatever they can and then when you need to replace something that didn't fit for a bigger part (A part they recommend) they don't want to give store credit. I'm pretty sure that's not legal considering their receipts only says "No Cash Refunds" which many stores have but that means you should be able to replace a part that's still new in the same store. But no, apparently this owner thinks he knows everything and expects his customers to be stupid. BBB will be hearing from me as well. This store needs a reality check.

Sometimes with old locks and old keys they will make you a key that doesn't work but they will work on it and adjust it till it does without any attitude or anything . They know what they are doing . They have a lot of odd items that are very useful and if you have a project they have a lot of stuff that's pretty hard to get . Their prices are very very reasonable .

If you don't see it in the store, ask the man at the desk. They speak English. Actually, upon going in, ask the man at the desk - he knows his stuff. I last went here on 1/16/2011 to buy a snow shovel. It was $14.95 - the handle was made of very sturdy laminated wood and the shovel was made of steel. My neighbor bought one 2 weeks ago for the snow storm and they cleaned up their sidewalk in a jiffy. We've also purchased BEHR paint. The man behind the counter was happy to point me in the right direction to find what I needed as well as answer my questions. He didn't hover over me or try to sell me things I didn't need, and when I came to the counter he even offered me a less expensive product that he felt was better performing! Their paint samples section has a chair and table where you can sit and plan your color schemes and it's near a window so you can view the samples in natural light. I would definitely recommend this small local store to a friend over the big chain stores like Home Depot any day!

East Coast Hardware is a dishonest vendor. I bought this through the walmart website marketplace…read morefrom East coast, they shipped one instead of 5, then lied to me and said they have no more stock available so they would not have to pay for there own error meanwhile I waited forever for delivery, plus four days after I contacted them about the error with no ability to take a shower. I will be leaving this review on every single site. On walmart marketplace they had 5 pieces for 40 dollars. So this is also grossly over priced for a piece of plastic.
