She brought back the perfect pair of pants that not only fit my hips but also didn't gap at my (may I say...?) tiny waist. And, in a size two sizes smaller than I would have chosen for myself?! I could have kissed her! Instead I bought two pairs... and got her name for you.

The cashier was very rude, and what upset me most was how dismissive she was toward my 1-year-old daughter while she was having a tough moment. The selection was decent though the prices were noticeably higher than the other hardware stores I had been to earlier in the week. I also thought it was very odd that there is no public restroom available. I can't remember the last time I've been in a good size store that didn't have a restroom. Truly strange. When I asked the employee at the register about it, she looked at me like I had grown an extra head. Lol~ I'm not looking for a day spa, just a single room toilet, sink and mirror. Apparently, that is too much to ask. Given the lack of friendliness and the higher prices, I would recommend going elsewhere.

Had one of the best interactions here…read more The cashier that attended me was cool, I bought a bunch of incense (to my friend's disdain) and when they asked me to count the incense, they were patient with me going bag my bag, counting each stick. When I responded with the number, they gave me a discount of 1.25 , "for being honest." That was really sweet of them, for real for real. They had a convo with a customer that was complaining of how different the shop looks - mind you, this was the first time I've ever been to a Hot Rags - and they just shrugged with an, "oh well." I replied with, "for real, for real" and their giggle completed my night. But anyways, thanks for the free extra 5 incense sticks, employee with the cool laugh and energy.

This place reminds me of the old school Spencers that is also in the mall, except that it has some pretty cool stuff. You can find anything for a Marily Monroe shirt to a toaster that will imprint Jesus or the Mother Mary on your toast. Yes, it can't get any more bizarre then that. I love the fact that bizarre is still up and going here and that you are able to find the "strange" and still have fun and afford it well. The staff is really cool. They are a mixture of punk and new wave kids who really know there stuff. And if an item is not in (say the color of contacts you want), just give them your number and you will be called as soon as the shipment is in. This is how they get me to come back over and over vs me always visiting and chancing that they have the color I want.
