My husband and I went there with friends on a Saturday. They were busy and we had to wait for our food, which was no problem. However, our burgers and dogs were cold, not warm at all. After waiting 10 minutes you would think the food would be freshly cooked, but not at all. Will not return for cooked food, may only return for cake. read more

I have been going here since the 70s and loved it but my visit a few days ago was a turning point. My double burger was dried out and cold with two peices of cheese slapped on it just like you take it out of the packaging, also the waitress was rude. New workers have been hired and they seem to be running on top of one another. I hate to see this place go downhill but as they say, "all good things come to an end". GOODBYE SHERRY'S as this is my last visit! read more

UPDATE: I had my daughter's birthday cake made, here. IT WAS AWESOME! The lady even went to a lot of extra effort to make sure her name was spelled correctly, and also that she had the Peppa Pig cake she really wanted. We LOVE Sherry's! Thank you for making my daughter's special day even better!!! read more

I have been all over the state of NC and I have tried many, many doughnuts, but these are the best hands down! "Best in the State" Also while your there order anything off of their menu and I promise you will love it! read more

Sherry's bakery is a great find! The cakes, cookies and doughnuts are delicious. My sister swears by the oatmeal cream cookie (which I like too). I love the doughnuts and red velvet cake. I've also eaten at the diner here, which is pretty cool. Reminds me of an old-fashioned lunch spot. I would definitely go here for the baked goods, as they are a treat. read more

I've only every eaten their doughnuts, and I have to say, they are pretty darn awesome. The ladies that work their are pretty cranky most of the time. read more

Great bakery items from cakes to doughnuts. Diner style food is good too! Small town feel. Customer service lacking across the board. Been here twice and had the same rude service experience. read more

Best Donuts in the area!! Just make sure they don't squeeze in an old donut when you buy a dozen. The staff is not very friendly though...

Best donuts, donut holes and pastries in the world. Period. The longtime owner Mr. Freddie Williford is one of the kindest people I've ever met and the staff is friendly and the service is fast. And the place is always packed, which should also tell you how awesome this place is. I would love to sit in to listen and observe the members of "The Wisdom Table" just to hear their stories. Sherry's is one of my favorite places in the entire world. read more

Homemade, incredible food - and ridiculously low prices. I was just passing through there today. Hot dogs were two for $2 - and soooo good. I'd love to find that kind of deal anywhere in the Triangle. I don't have a sweet tooth but I just had to bring some goodies for my wife - who said it was the kind of cake that old Alabama church ladies used to bake when she was growing up. It's that good! If I'm ever passing through again, I will certainly go there. read more

We enjoy the doughnuts here a lot. Each time we are always greeted rudely and the customer service is lacking though. It's unfortunate because this is such a great place for Dunn. I hope this improves and the demeanor of the employees can match the quality of the menu. read more

Five Stars for longevity, nostalgia and the delicious delicious cream filled calories. Mmmm Calories

Awesome desserts, good cheap food, if you're looking a tasty cheap meal this is the place in Dunn!

We had lunch, fresh ground beef hamburgers. Best cakes and doughnuts ever. Line moves very fast

I never knew it was there until a friend of mine told me about it! I love fresh baked goods and I must say they do it very well!! Homemade, incredible food - and ridiculously low prices! I plan to go back next week! Keep up the great work! read more

A friend invited me to come try Sherry's Bakery today. I was hoping to try a piece of their 9 layer chocolate cake. When asked about the "by the slice cake" the lady behind the counter said she would have to go in the back to tell me what they have. She disappears for about 5 minutes and comes back with about 20 slices of cake that are individually plastic wrapped. She drops them (literally) on the counter and asks what flavor I want. I say 9 layer chocolate. She tells me they don't have that in the by the slice. My wife snags a piece of lemon cake and we move on to donuts. Instead of helping us, the lady moves to the fridge and places the 19 slices of cake in the fridge one at a time prior to coming back to us. Another lady starts helping us pick out 6 donuts when the original lady returns. The second lady tells the first to put our donuts in a box. We also remind the first that we would like a box. She instead wraps them all in wax paper and pushes *PUSHES* them into a bag and squishes a majority of them. Wow, thanks. The donuts *taste* good but they're squished now. The desserts are excellent here. The customer service sucks. I hope your service is better than mine but judging by the reviews on yelp this seems to be a repeated problem. You have been warned. read more

If you want a quick, down home meal of some of the best sweets available to man, Sherry's is it! I always go for the double cheeseburger combo and an oatmeal cookie. DELICIOUS. My only downside is that they regularly miss my lettuce and tomato but charge me for it. The staff (apart from Ms.Sherry herself) could use an attitude booster but they're still great! read more

If you want breakfast in Dunn, Sherrys serves it just like they did years ago! Best doughnuts, and baked goods in town. I'd eat here every morning if it were physically possible. read more

The only thing I have had here are the doughnuts and they are amazing. If you've ever heard of Sandra's Bakery in Sanford, they are identical to the doughnuts there except the shape. I'm glad I don't have to drive all the way to Sanford to get some good doughnuts now! read more

There are usually two lines here, one to order your food and the other to order pastries! On Saturdays expect a wait for either line. Food includes burgers and fries and hotdogs along with breakfast. The hamburgers are fresh and pattied out by hand. Food is about three and a half stars while the baked goodies are five stars! read more

The food is pretty good especially the sweets but the service is horrible (with the exception of one lady). Don't think if you call in an order to go that it will be any quicker than dining in because it won't. Your order goes in line with everybody else's. I called in a to go order of a sausage biscuit and a bacon biscuit. I arrived 15 minutes later and waited in line to pay for them (I had absolutely no problem with that at all). When I got to the cash register I told the lady what I had called in she said "Oh yeah it's ready" called another number and walked off. She was going to get the other two customers orders cooked and out before she would ring me up. I politely told the nice woman who works there what was going on and that my son had a doctors appt and that's why we called in the order now over 20 minutes ago and it was ready. She told the lady who was helping me that I needed to be checked out and the hateful lady yelled at her in front of everybody that she only had two hands and had two more orders to get out first. My son had a doctors appt and we couldn't wait so I told her to just cancel the order. read more

In a town where the choices are McDonalds, Hardee's or Bojangles, skip the fast food joints and head to Sherry's for a delicious thick, juicy double cheeseburger. Fries? How 'bout fried okra? Best of all, the bakery carries one of my favs: their oversized oatmeal cream cookie. Every time I come in from Los Angeles to visit my parents in Dunn, Sherry's is a must-stop. read more

Taste is great, customer service not so much. I ordered a cake for my daughter's birthday. When I arrived to pick up my cake, the wrong cake was placed on the counter as the associate started to ring it up. I told her that was not the cake I ordered, she responded with... they couldn't make the cake that was ordered because someone was not there and they tried to call me and tell me. I looked at my phone and saw I had a missed called about 30 minutes before time to pick up my cake, no message left. The associate waited until I told her that she had the wrong cake, instead of explaining why or apologizing before hand. Why would you not have management or an owner/co-owner come out and let the customer know the cake ordered was not the case that was prepared and offer a discount or AT LEAST an apology. I understand that there are extenuating circumstances and I have no issue with that. This should have been handled in a different manner. read more

Awesome donuts. Layered chocolate cake is really good. I have never eaten at the restaurant part though

Growing up in Dunn, Sherry's is a corner stone business in the area. I have been visiting the establishment since a little girl and it has improved over the years. The ladies, some of them have been working there as long as I can recall, which is why maybe their demeanor, as noted in other reviews, is not very friendly or outgoing towards customers. However, that does not take away from the food but does take away from the experience. The bavarian cream filled long johns, oatmeal fruit bars, holes, fritters and other items are the real reason you go for the sweetest smelling corner in town. Support local! read more
