I went to see her for the first time a year ago and she was amazing. She explained without being condescending. She has a wonderful bedside manner. She calls with test results herself. And she personally calls at times you wouldn't expect to hear from a doctor, to answer questions I asked about. She gives honest and good advice and makes suggestions for what the primary can do and what she can do. The best possible referral I can give about her... I absolutely panicked at the thought she might retire!! Where would I go and how could I possibly find another doctor like her? I went to Dr. Chmiel's practice on the recommendation of a co-worker. I went for throat pain I'd…read morehad for a year. I had had a sonogram and nothing was found. I went to Dr. Chmiel and within 15 min I had my diagnosis. Using a scope up my nose and down my throat which took 5 min in office, he showed me the video of the scoping. He showed me my septal bone spur, which caused pus to drip from my sinus down my throat, which caused my throat pain. Dr. Chmiel never pushed surgery. He advised I think about it. I said I wanted the surgery. So off to a CT scan so he could see my sinuses. Good thing I did because he found more things- enlarged adenoids and a polyp in one of my sinus cavities. I said I still wanted surgery and managed to get a date in two weeks. Dr. Chmiel removed my septal bone spur ( that's what's in the photo), removed my adenoids, and roto rooted out the polyp. I had no pain, no visible swelling. The follow ups were the day after, then one week. I found Dr. Chmiel attentive, answered all of my questions, and had a good sense of humor. If you need a septal bone spur chiseled out, Dr. Chmiel's your guy!!! The staff was great too!

So the dentist wanted me to see an ENT doc before deciding if the offending tooth needs extraction. Dr. Sobie gently scoped the sinus area, and when that was inconclusive, ordered a CT scan. He was considerate and concerned and thorough. I recommend this otolaryngologist to anyone who requires this type of medical attention.

I went to Paul Young, didn't see him, which is fine, but the NP that I saw didn't do anything my PCP didn't do and immediately suggested a nasal ablation and went on a sales pitch about how Dr. Young does them in the office. Felt like they "sell" that to everyone. She also couldn't see anything concerning- so why suggest this procedure? And for the plugged ears, she suggested I get a hearing test but they don't perform them. What kind of ENT can't do a hearing test in the office? Long story short- useless and total waste of time and money. Just got a $350.00 bill, after insurance for literally nothing.

This office needs to work on Communication…read more Dr Young diagnosed me with a nasal condition and told me that I needed surgery and to contact the surgical coordinator at the office number. He didn't elaborate on *which side* of my nose, how long the recovery would be, or what the risks were. Just: 'You need surgery, schedule it.' (I did have the surgery, and still don't know which side was even operated on). Sometimes, I think that medical people forget that we 'regular' people don't see the same things that they see each day. For us, none of these things are 'routine' and we don't know what to expect. Communicating which side of the nose is affected, how long the surgery takes, how easy the recovery will be, and what risks are associated with the surgery would really help people. I've also been tested for allergies here. It was determined that I need allergy shots - great, I've been going here regularly for them - but it was never communicated to me how long I'll need to do this for. So I just keep going every week and scheduling for the following week, with no end in sight. Again: communicating this to the patient would be nice. I met another patient who also has been coming here for allergy shots, and that patient said she began with 2 visits per week to 'get ahead / make progress faster.' I was not told that this was an option. Their phone system/call-taking procedure really needs a tune-up. When you call, you're sent straight to a phone tree- no human answers the phone. You have options to leave a message for an appointment, or for a nurse, or for the surgery scheduler/billing department. But if you don't press '3' after your message (or maybe it was the # key?) then your message doesn't get sent/delivered and so you won't get a call back because they apparently don't even know that you've called. It would be nice if a *person* answered the phone, and then transferred you to the appropriate department if need be. Communication at this office, phone-wise, is really lacking. The patient portal also needs more communication. I requested an appointment and never received a notification in the portal about it, nor did I receive a phone call. Then, about five days later *while I was at the office getting an allergy shot* the receptionist called my phone about my portal appointment request. Hello? I was *just* standing in front of you, checking in, 10 minutes ago! Do you really not know I am in the building, actively receiving a treatment? The waiting room is decorated nicely, there's coffee & water and a cute little area for kids to chill. I've been taken 'on time' each time I've been there, except one time. I suppose I keep going because: 1) their hours jive with my schedule, and: 2) it is relatively close to my home. But I'd be willing to switch allergists, even if the new place was further away, if I could find one with the same hours but with much better communication.

Enough where makeup would pool. I waited over a year to let things "settle". Dr. Sherris put a stitch there to fix the issue. Indent is still there. I went back after doing research for people with a similar issue. I thought the area was "tethered" due too tight of a stitch and scar tissue. The doctor told me it was due to age. Funny, I don't have that issue with my right eye. Dr Sherris offered filler as a resolution AT MY COST. This indent is extremely noticeable and I see it every day when I look in the mirror. Makeup does not help. So I will be going to someone else to correct. Long story short, buyer beware.​ This customer is not happy with the results.
