Such a lovely home style restaurant! The people here are so kind and caring. I got to try the combination plate (a tad oily but still yummy), thali (definitely would recommend, this is pretty much a tasting platter), lamb kebab, and mango lassi. They were all super tasty!! Highly recommend this place, it's such a lovely dinner. Looks like they have good lunch specials too.

During a 4-day jaunt through Boulder we chose this to be our last meal, a Sunday late lunch based on many 5-star reviews... and we weren't disappointed. The establishment was only 1/4 occupied at this odd hour we chose and the gentleman/owner greeted us with such alacrity. He offered the table of our choosing and then returned minutes later to give us guidance on his menu. I requested something less traditional (i.e., no vindaloo or biryani) and he immediately recommended the Tandoori Momo ($18 + $2 with ground chicken) and the Rogan Josh ($19 + $1 for lamb upgrade). We agreed that the lamb was "good" in that it was mild (not gamey), very lean, and without gristle... but it could have been a bit more tender. Overall, this dish reminded me a bit of the more traditional Indian/rice dishes... and that was still a-ok. The star of the show was, indeed, the Tandoori Momo. I had initially hesitated when the owner made his recommendation because I (errantly) pictured pieces of reddish chicken from the Tandoori oven. I was so wrong. They are actually large reddish "pot-stickers" filled with seasoned ground chicken inside. I had never seen anything like that before. Bonus: they arrive with a big ruckus - 10 of them on a loudly sizzling platter which you can hear from 30 feet away. The couple of sauces and grilled/sliced onions that accompanied them were terrific and all was quite filling. The waitress that took over service for the balance of our meal was polite and attentive. Overall, an excellent last meal... and leaving me craving that vindaloo next time Lol. Note: one little critique is that their bill adds the tax in And Then calculates the proposed tip amount to that enlarged total. Not cool but I've now seen this happen at a couple of other restaurants.

I placed a to-go order at the bar for fried chicken momos and plain naan. The proprietor greeted me warmly and invited me to sit. There was only one table of customers being served. I wish he had told me my order would take 40 minutes; at the thirty minute mark he mentioned that the momos take a long time to prepare. Before my food was ready, restaurant employees had begun eating their own meals. When the food was ready, my daughter and I ate it in the car. Everything was very hot temperature-wise. The momos were surprisingly spicy but still tasty, and the chutney was a nice balance to those flavors. The naan was delicious. I recommend the food but be forewarned to expect a long wait, even if you are the only customer.

Had the opportunity to eat here several times while working in the area and really enjoyed it. The food was always fresh, delicious and as ordered. Some of our favorites were: steamed vegetable momos, chili vegetable momos, tandoori vegetable momos, johl vegetable momos and samosa chat. Looking forward to trying some more things off the menu.

Indian and Nepalese food are my favorites and after carefully evaluating all of the restaurants in the area, Sherpa is the winner! It was not even close. I had never tried Josh Rogan bc to be honest it has always sounded like Americanized food. But I got the lamb and it was phenomenal. I think I'm going to be there at least twice a month from now on. The hostess is just the nicest person and makes you feel so welcome. I can't say enough good things about this place. Apparently it's where the chefs from the other local Indian and Nepalese restaurants come when they want to enjoy great food. read more

My boyfriend and I went here recently and it was by far the best Indian food I've had in Colorado. I got the chicken thali special and a banana lassi, he got the chicken mahkai, and we split Punjabi wings. Everything was great, I can't count how many times I said mid-bite "we're definitely coming back here". The hostess was very nice and the atmosphere was perfect. Definitely go to Sherpa Kitchen! read more

The momos were good and delicious chai. But something very unethical happened. My bill and tip amount totaled to $24, but my credit card was charged to $27. I would have returned but I am not so sure now. It is a small amount but it is not ok. read more

It's a long story, but I was supposed to go somewhere else for dinner and ended up at Sherpa Kitchen instead. It was honestly one the BEST decisions I have ever made. The food is mind-blowing good! Some of the best food I've had in Boulder. I ordered chicken momos, garlic naan, vegetable samosas, and Chicken Korma. Highly recommend them all. The service is great too, everyone was really nice and welcoming; I felt like a "regular" there even though it was first time at the restaurant. I can't wait to go back here again! read more

My husband and I happened upon this spot while taking dance lessons near by for our wedding and we continue to frequent in when we find ourselves in Boulder. Atmosphere is inviting, the staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and the food is delicious every time! I highly recommend the vegetable samosa, the samosa chat, chicken tikka masala, sagg paneer and the mixed vegetable curry are all some of our favorite dishes we keep coming back for and the tandoori chicken momo's are absolutely to DIE for! My husband swears he could eat 3 orders all by himself LOL. Definitely one of our favorite spots for sure! read more

I was the only customer and the staff just sat around and talked the whole time. Never followed up. They forgot my Mango Lassi and still charged me for it. The food was average and not memorable. There are much better options in CO. read more

I eat a lot of Indian food, both from restaurants and homemade. I ordered the vegetarian Thali and hot chai. The food came out hot as did the chili. I loved that the chai was served with a big mug and a small pot so I could have two servings without asking for it from the server. Unfortunately, the food was too salty and did not allow any of the spices to really shine. The Dahl was bland- either my palate was so overwhelmed with salt from the other food that it could not detect any salt in the dahl, or there was no salt in the dahl. Normally, I like to take some of the meal home with me but this was not good enough for that. The server was very good and had a nice smile! read more

The food was plentiful and delicious! The menu is large and varied. The Thail specialty dish was large and impressively presented. It was enough for one and a half people unless you are famished. I liked the Thai iced tea too. We will be back and we will recommend it to friends. read more

Truly delicious food, even compared to what we get in San Francisco. The saag paneer, chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan were as tasty as I've ever had. Solid sized portions that come with rice. The mango lassi was also delicious. I do not have any photos to share because we devoured our food immediately! Would happy return. read more

This is an awesome Indian restaurant. The lunch special is perfect and reasonably priced. If you want to order through menu also, you will not be disspointed. I've never been dissapointed. If you want to try regular Indian home cooking try the Okra and Roti. It is awesome! read more

The Sherpa Kitchen is the finest in Indian and Nepalese cuisine. There's a real Sherpa in the back who guides your culinary senses on a journey unparalleled in boulder. Do you like spicy? This place gets it. I'm formerly from New Orleans and if my mouth ain't burning at the end of a meal, I wonder what was the point of eating? Do you like mild (like my girlfriend)? Sherpa expertly crafts dishes for all spice tolerances and they do it with the smile and grace of a Sherpa leading you up some tall mountain. Kindly support this local business as they have worked really hard to offer the best food in boulder (even with the craziness of covid). Enjoy the family atmosphere and when you're done.... We have eaten delivery food from Sherpa twice in the last month. Absolutely FANTASTIC!!!! Papadum is crisp, not oily. Saag paneer has a nice flavor twist. Chicken tikka masala & shrimp tandoori are the best in the area. Nice to be able to have truly mild or more spicy. read more

Highly recommend.

I was expecting your normal soft, pillowy, melt in your mouth steamy naan and I got what felt more like a crunchy pizza crust with no toppings, not that it was bad but it was wildly outside of what I was expecting and personally didn't like it, my daughter will eat any bread product and ate it instead. The service was incredibly nice, friendly, accommodating, and helpful, our food came quickly. I do wish they had some way of dealing with delivery drivers since they just loiter in the entry of the restaurant near the kitchen which happened to be right next to our booth and more than one large sweaty delivery driver was essentially leaning against my daughters side of the booth while waiting for pick up, kinda gross. They also need to replace their carpets and bench cushions but otherwise I loved the decor. Overall they need to step up their spice game, this is Indian food bring your A game and all other faults would be forgiven, except that crunchy naan. They also don't have Chana masala??!!? This is my go to and I've never seen this not offered at an Indian restaurant in my area. As a person spoiled by incredible Indian food this sadly doesn't hold up but it's good enough and better than other places we have tried in the area like Kathmandu II.

It never arrived from either of the glum mortuary attendants. I settled into the AYCE buffet Tikka Masala, watery, bland and depressing. I sat down in my duct tape repaired seat, wishing I could leave sooner.

Lunch portions was massive, the taste was milder, closer to Tibet style spices which was amazing. The lentil stew was amazing, naan was cooked perfectly. I got a Himalayan spice chicken, not sure how I feel about it. Tasted fried which I'm not used to. Decor and ambiance was warm and inviting, with decor from Tibet. Would definitely return next time in that next of the woods.

I've been to tandoori kitchen in Lafayette but this place was a great nearby choice! Right in a big plaza, easy parking and access. Staff was friendly and greeted me well. I went on a Saturday, and to my delight there was a Jazz Singer group there! They added so much ambience and charm to the meal. She plays every other Saturday so try and see them! A mango Lassi was excellent to sooth my sore throat from talking all day. I got the classic Paneer Tiki Masala, with a Garlic naan on the side. Flavors were all there and naan was warm and soft. I'd heard wonderful things about Sherpa Kitchen from multiple friends and finally tried it and couldn't have been happier that I did. Everyone who helped with my order was incredibly friendly and the food came out quickly. After the first bite it had already become one of my favorite restaurants in Boulder.
