Diamond is the rough! This place is authentic in a small town. Excellent food and friendly service. The portions are big and flavors are delicious.

Such a great meal! We were passing through the area and wanted to eat dumplings and noodles. Saw this place on Yelp and decided to try it. We were greeted by a gentleman who smiled with his eyes and had the kindest demeanor. We ordered the beef momos, Tibetan noodles, chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. Everything was delicious! We don't live in the area but if we did this would be a regular meal spot for us. Would absolutely return if we pass by Salida again!!

We loved eating at the Sherpa Cafe! The food was delicious and authentic. We would recommend doing family style and sharing several dishes with friends or family because the dishes aren't really stand alone ones. We got the saag panir, which was very flavorful and definitely a favorite. The Sherpa stew was also very good but the flour dumplings in the stew took a second to get used to. The momos were great--we got the combo but the beef ones were the best. The staff were really amazing and friendly and the atmosphere was great. The decor was all on theme and the place was very clean. Definitely a unique place and if I lived here I would go back.

Service was good but our curries didn't have much flavor. Mine was vegetarian so only veggies in it, my friend got the chicken one and it was full of chicken and not one single vegetable!

I stumbled upon this place while looking for a decent place to eat later at night while passing through. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the inside is actually quite nice. It's a small family owned place that just opened last year. The mom and daughter who run it are very friendly. The service was pretty quick, portions were big, and food was delicious. If you're a fan of this type of food or supporting a family owned restaurant you should definitely stop in!

These are great people who know how to cook. You won't meet nicer people. The Tibetan Noodles were incredible - taste, temperature, ingredient ratio.

Dined on a Monday evening. Place was bustling but not too busy. We were greeted and seated right away. My wife had the Sherpa Stew and I had the Tibetan Noodles. The flavors were robust and delicious. Service was attentive and friendly. Loved it!

We stopped in Salida for the night on our way to Denver and were very impressed by this restaurant. It was really cute inside, with lots of fun decorations and the ambiance was top tier. The service was phenomenal, our server just seemed like a really cool guy, he was very attentive and the food came out really fast. We shared the garlic chili momos, Sherpa stew, and garlic naan and they were so delicious! We would've ordered a second round of everything if we weren't so full. We were shocked in to silence by how amazing everything tasted, no joke. We wish we were staying here longer just to return and eat everything else on the menu. So jealous of Salida locals right now, don't miss out on this place!!

Didn't expect to find delicious Tibet/Nepal/Indian cuisine in Salida, CO! Friendly and quick service. We liked the chicken masala and garlic naan bread.

One of my favorite places in Salida to eat due to consistently excellent Nepalese food. A must try.

This is hands-down one of our favorite Nepalese restaurants anywhere in the area. We're a ski…read moreracing family, and every time we're in Aspen, we make a point to carve out one night to drive over to Carbondale for dinner here--it's become a tradition. We've been several times and worked our way through a good chunk of the menu, and everything has been consistently delicious: deeply flavorful, authentic Nepalese comfort food that feels both special and soul-warming. The owners always seem to be there, greeting everyone with big smiles, and they're genuinely gracious and welcoming. The space is cozy, warm, and inviting, with thoughtful touches that beautifully reflect their heritage. 10/10--and then some. If you're craving incredible Nepalese cuisine, do yourself a favor and go. You'll be planning your next visit before you finish your meal.

This little place is located next to the gas station and it was easy to find a parking spot. When I…read morewalked in their was a delicious waft of spices so I was excited. The gentleman that assisted me was SO nice and helpful. I had an opportunity to look over the menu online so I went in knowing what I wanted. I ordered the Chicken Momo with a side of Garlic Naan. Everything arrived quickly and the lady who gave me my food also gave me a sample of their rice pudding. I thought that was so nice and a very kind touch. As for the food, my review is based on my experience only. The Garlic Naan was nicely wrapped that kept it warm until I got to my hotel. I was so excited to see all the garlic that was added. This is what I wanted. It was crisp, light, and delicious for $5.00. The Chicken Momo was a little different. The skins were nice and thin and allowed the filling to shine. Unfortunately, my chicken filling was very dry. They do provide 4 different sauces to dip the dumplings in which was a nice touch. However, there wasn't enough to go through all the dumplings. The win for this meal was definitely the service and Garlic Naan. The miss was the Chicken Momo for $19.95.
