Great marketplace space with lots of amazing food and beverage vendors and stores. Very spacious.

We absolutely love everything about the Sherman Phoenix community w/ all the businesses inside 1 building. My daughter & I came to visit this establishment a few years ago on her Spring break to make a day to eat delicious food, view all the beautiful artwork, visit all the shops & just relax while having great conversations w/ everyone that came across our path. We tried many places such as: Buffalo boss (which is all chicken w/ fries), Funky Fresh Spring rolls (different varieties of springs, quinoa & more, Purple Door ice cream, Lush Popcorn (many varieties of flavors of popcorn & drinks), Sauce & Spice (many pizza & breadsticks selections) & so much more. Inside the building it offers so many services from food, massages, painting, healing, hair, nails & many more. We will always support the businesses anytime we are in the area. read more

I feel so good after a visit to Sherman Phoenix. Other reviewers have done a great job outlining the various different businesses and restaurants in this amazing food hall. The community-focused atmosphere makes everyone feel welcome and the food is delicious. My personal favorites are the buffalo chicken spring rolls and the popcorn (cookies and cream for me, maple bourbon for my husband), but everything is worth a try, so you'll have to make more than one trip! The different spaces are available to reserve for events, whether you need a smaller space upstairs near the Vibez bar or a larger space for more people downstairs or using both spaces. The catering process is very easy too, since the vendors are all available to work with. I look forward to my next visit here! read more

Sherman Phoenix - Exterior before patio renovation (in progress as of November 2019) - Food Near Me - Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Love, love, love this place! Hearing about the concept almost brought tears of joy to my eyes. The building was created out of the BMO Harris bank building that was burned during the unrest in Milwaukee. Like a phoenix rising out of the ashes, this building is more than just a place to eat. It's a sign of hope and a beautiful meeting place for the community. I tried the turmeric, ginger apple shot and apple pineapple juice from the coffee place which were both tasty. Also got a pizza from Sauce and Spice. The pizza is big for the price and you pay by the number of toppings you add on. Got a pepperoni and jalapeno pizza which had really good flavor and a nice cracker thin crust. Had a bit left over so offered some to my coworkers who all thought it tasted very fresh Luckily the building is right next to one of the clinics I work at so I will be checking out different places every time I work there. Such a gem!!! read more

I really great location to search for unique finds. A really neat pizza shop inside that has their own special blend, and one firm makes healthy chicken & kale rolls that are out of this world. Hair care, barbers, and even a sweet shop that makes specialty cakes, and cupcakes. Worth a visit for sure. read more

Update! I've since been back to the vegan spot as well as the spring roll stand. Both were excellent and highly recommend! The vegan 'chicken' wrap at Next Level Vegan is something I'm planning on coming back for! read more

This place is a hidden gem! Wow, if you are looking for a way to support local, small businesses of color look no further than Sherman-Phoenix. There are nearly 30 tenets within a a single, eclectic, clean and bright space. We visited at 5pm - one hour before the building/shops closed for the day. Not many shops/food stalls were open, so I recommend visiting earlier in the day. Also, we parked at a metered parking spot across from the building. We had to pay for parking via an app. While we paid 63 cents for 30 mins there is free parking on site! This place isn't located in the best part of the city, but we never once felt uncomfortable or unwelcome so don't be deterred by the location. What this place has transformed into after a tragedy is something worth seeing and experiencing first-hand. We already can't wait to get back out there to try some of the food vendors which seems to be a big hit with visitors. read more

There is so much to love about this place. Such a great spot in the community to support local businesses.

This is a wonderful, joyful space that EVERYone in Milwaukee, and EVERYone who visits Milwaukee should experience! It's right off Fond du Lac and 35th, and is a tiny bit tough to spot, but so worth it. First impression - ample parking, despite the crazy snowstorm we'd had the night before the visit. On entry, employees are quick to greet you and offer help in navigating the space. Immediately at the main entrance is a vegan BBQ spot and a Buffalo Wings spot - both local. Enter the main area, and you won't know where to look first! Also, all of the food being prepared smells amazing. On your right, you can climb the stairs to a gallery showcasing a local artist's work, a sometime paint/sip studio, that also offers open studio time for families and groups to come and create art in the space. Again, welcoming, friendly guides to orient you quickly! (follow Vibez art collective on Insta!) On the main floor is a pizza place, a spring rolls place, a gourmet popcorn shop, an artisanal candy/bakery counter and I think a clothing store (there was so much to see, that it's already hard to remember). All locally owned, produced - no chains here! If you walk down the small hallway, there is a barber shop, and a homeopathic/health care/tea/crystal/sage/happiness shop. Also home to Shindig! coffee and juice - I had the blackberry detox lemonade - amazing. Free wifi, ample seating, and large glorious windows. The lower level features everything from a nail salon to mental health care to physical therapy. This is a wonderful collaborative effort, a jewel in the Sherman Park neighborhood - go here, eat lunch, get some work done, and appreciate what's possible in our city. read more

What a great new place in Sherman Park. Enjoyed Mac and cheese and a vegan gyro at The Next Level Vegan, followed by some great popcorn at Lush. This place has it all- several food options; pizza, rolls, vegan, chocolates, popcorn and coffee house faire. Soon to open a bbq joint as well. Will definitely be coming back to enjoy the art studio space. Several area businesses in the building as well and an overall laid back vibe. Would be a great place to hang with friends or sit down to work with your computer. Plenty of parking too. Don't miss this great addition! read more

This is a beautiful community space with multiple restaurants, salons, barbers, jewelry and clothing stores, an herbalist apothecary as well as a paint and sip, and artist spaces with gallery areas. It's an awesome concept that is fully realized. The space itself is beautiful, bright and airy. The food is really good, and there is a lot to see in this cool old bank building. Restaurants include a vegan spot, pizza, wings, egg rolls, ice cream, popcorn, and more! The paint and sip has beer, wine and cocktails. The building has an amazing mural outside, indoor and outdoor dining space, and a private parking lot. The energy in the Sherman Phoenix is very welcoming, and all of MKE needs to come out and see what can be done as a real community in the face of hardship and adversity. THIS is how you do it. The Sherman park neighborhood and the Sherman Phoenix are an inspiration, and this idea needs to be a model for more areas in our city. read more

Lots of great black-owned businesses to support here. Everybody I came across was very friendly. I especially recommend the caramel cupcakes from the Confectionately Yours bakery (so, so, sooo good!). There are restaurants, bakeries, salons, shops, creative spaces, counseling, and a lot more. Parking both on the street and lot on the side of the building. I was able to find parking during the week around lunchtime easily. read more

All the food and people are amazing. It feels like a family reunion every time I walk in the building.

If you're looking for the perfect mix of food options you've found yourself the perfect stop. Come in the morning for some outstanding breakfast and caffeine at shindig coffee or take on the perfect opportunity to prank your friends and cleanse your body of a late night of drinking with a ginger shot. For lunch, enjoy some funky fresh and delicious spring rolls. For dinner, have some outstanding brick oven pizza. In between, after, or during each meal, take advantage of some legendary purple door ice cream read more

I literally like live here everyone is so nice lush is literally my second home , hospitality is great !!!

I haven't been to the physical location, but I have heard good things, and there were cookies from Sherman Phoenix in the break room today. I tried oatmeal raisin, Snicker doodle, and gluten free chocolate chip. I have never had a gluten free cookie before, but these were excellent. Crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. 10/10 would eat again. read more

This place is beautiful! Awesome employees and amazingly positive energy!!! Great food too!

Bravo new place for working (free wi-fi, & I didn't see any time limit signs), EATING, meeting friends, or hanging out for coffee (in a central place with individual vendors)!!! Pizza, desserts, coffee, gorgeous space, laid-back, (kid friendly), and THE PRICE IS RIGHT (and other types of foods and services)! Their pizza and coffee were GREAT, and I have to get back for their desserts (they also have salads, egg rolls, and spring rolls, etc). I hung out there for about 2 hours in the middle of the day, and LOVED THE PIZZA and coffee! Everyone was friendly, and welcoming (and also supports community). MUST TRY!!! read more
