Mayfair has truly passed the test of time in the city. It keeps evolving with the trends and aesthetics. Even the food court has hooked up with The Times. Plenty of options for all ages in both shopping and dining options. It is my go to in the area. The evening has Security for under age and they even have wristbands once they are checked of age so they are not bothered again. read more

As malls go this one is alive! In a day and age where we are seeing the demise of the mall this location has managed to stay relevant, up to date, and just busy! Great selection of stores, clean environment, lots of parking, a descent food court, and well just a safe environment. When I was here the place was packed! I haven't been to a mall in more than a decade so I was shocked when we visited Brookfield Square and found it practically deserted and then pleasantly surprised when we visited Mayfair Mall and found it alive and well. Mayfair Mall is a nice and clean mall. They have a large selection of stores and I didn't see any retail spaces empty. The food court has a nice selection of foods, as well as a few other food options elsewhere in the mall. They also have ample parking. If you come to this massive old hunk of an enormous, outdated Mall in the west burbs of Milwaukee, then you may fare well... or you Mayfair not so well. It depends on U. It also depends on the other 4 vowels. If you don't fare well, then I may suspect someone of vowel play. But let's hope it doesn't come to that. You can tell that they were going for a fancy mall, here but having been to a lot of malls because of the person I'm dating lately (hi) I honestly have to say this is up there with the more fancy ones I've been too. It actually feels a little bit - well, a lot - antiquated in some ways and the little out of date but then so do all but one of the malls in the Milwaukee area. The shiny one is the outdoor one in the north burbs, in Glendale. This one is probably just as busy as that one, and better to wander around in cold weather, which lasts 77 months a year in Milly Wore Kay. Thanks to Alice Cooper for that. They do have a Victoria's Secret store in here and that's what I came to check out but I didn't really find anything. It was close to closing time (blame Semisonic) and the Mall employees could not wait to lock up (I wonder if they lock up their daughters with such vim and vigour) (wait did I say that out loud) (on to the next one). read more

Cant tell that C19 is a pandemic from the super packed parking lot and how busy the mall was on this days visit. I was looking for a pair of nice shoes, no gym shoes or boots so I thought that I would finally for the first time ever actually go into the Mayfair mall and shop. The directory listed several shoe stores and the anchor stores to look at. The first couple shoe stores were not geared towards pricey casual shoes so I checked out Nordstrom and I didn't like the selection either. After my short visit to the mall I left in search of a dedicated nice shoe store with a wider selection to shop from. read more

So I don't go to malls very often. No one I know does. Maybe that's why they're struggling. But I needed bras and sneakers, and I wanted to try them on! I came on a Monday afternoon and had a wonderful experience. Parking was a breeze - I entered through the Barnes & Noble; my favorite place. It was quiet and clean. Natural lighting was nice. There were a lot of new stores since I last came here. I was able to get fit for my bras and buy a great pair of sneakers that fit perfectly. I also bought a few presents for vday and a new shirt for work. I remember the food court having better options, but it gets the job done. PF Chang's, Cheesecake Factory, Maggianos, and Elder+Rime are all close by. If you haven't been to the mall recently, pay a visit. I think you'll enjoy yourself! read more

On Thursday, May 16th, my friend and I visited Mayfair Mall with our four children, ages seven, nine and twelve (2). At approximately 06:45 PM, we entered Claire's. We let the children look around the store while we waited at the front for them. This is our normal practice and has never been questioned since our children are not noisy, do not run around like wild animals, and have never showcased poor behavior in stores. After approximately five minutes of being in the store, we noticed a mall security guard enter the store. We didn't think anything of it, as it looked like the security guard was coming into chit-chat with the store associate. After about seven minutes, the security guard signaled us to come over. I got up and walked over by him, and he mumbled something to the effect that one of our children was stealing. The four children gathered around because they were interested in hearing what he said. Since he (this was "Officer" Stanley, #202) didn't say who exactly he was accusing or who did what, I said who, who exactly are you talking about? The security guard randomly pointed to my friend's daughter. And I asked what exactly she did (my friend was making her way over at this time). The security guard once again mumbled something (my best guess is that even he didn't want to hear his nonsense?!) and said my friend's daughter had a bracelet on her wrist. Okay, I'm pretty sure many people do this in a store like Claire's- they TRY ON jewelry products. If that is illegal there should be a sign posted so that all customers are treated EQUALLY. I immediately said then let's have the child take off her sweatshirt so you can see there is nothing on her wrists... and let's also have her show you there is nothing in her sweatshirt pockets. The security guard wanted nothing to do with a logical rebuttal and then he said "just leave". So. This security guard is ACCUSING A CHILD OF THEFT, but when we offer to show him she has nothing on her (and never once did she attempt to leave the store)... he won't have any of it. Makes absolutely no sense. Bizarre. Pathetic. Sickening. After my friend walked over from the front of the store and once again asked the security guard what he was talking about, he quickly became more defensive and asked us to leave. The situation was so bizarre because we continued to offer to show that this child had nothing on her, and he wanted nothing to do with any form of rebuttal. We also asked to see the video footage from the store. Once again, the security guard told us to leave. The entire situation was just that- BIZARRE. Finally, after we did leave the store (yes, we overstayed our welcome while trying to understand the issue and trying to show the security guard that the child was not trying to steal anything- isn't that what any parent would do?), then the security guard called the Wauwatosa cops on us to eventually escort us off of the property. Also of note, at one point, when we reminded the security guard that someone could have searched the child, he replied that we had never given him a chance to call a female officer to do so. Again, WHAT? He almost immediately asked us to leave the store, and in doing so, I guess he was encouraging theft because, allegedly, one of our children had a bracelet on their wrist?! If you become the target of discrimination at Mayfair Mall by the security guards from Andy Frain Security, SPEAK UP! Contact the Mayfair Mall Security Office, contact Andy Frain Security, contact Mayfair Mall Management, contact the company that owns Mayfair (Brookfield Properties Retail Inc.), and contact the MEDIA! The media will be our next step. One instance may not be a big deal; however, I highly doubt we are the only group of people who were discriminated against at this mall. If everyone treated in an abhorrent fashion by Mayfair Mall Security speaks up, maybe something will be done to rectify said situation! This isn't the most convenient mall for me, or even my favorite one in the area, but it is where the AMC theater is and since I have the A List subscription, this is the mall where I find myself most often. When I've got time before, after, or (let's be honest) in-between movies, I often hit the Macy's, Backstage, Barnes and Noble, and American Eagle stores to see what deals there are to be had. Unfortunately, like most malls you can't do all of your shopping here (no pharmacy, grocery store, or hardware stores) but you can still make a dent in your list for the most part. There is a good variety of stores and Security keeps a public presence so you don't tend to see incidents here. If you can snag a covered parking spot in the winter or summer, that's a nice bonus, too! read more

As this seems to be one of the only shopping centers to shop in -I am a frequent shopper at Macys- I have always been helped in many great ways. Its great when the people who are there a lot recognize me-a great and friendly feeling. Last week I had to go into for a return- when I was finished I went out to the parking lot on the North side of the building only to walk into a cloud of weed smell from a bunch of kids by the door. Mayfair is probably the "best" mall in the area...but that doesn't say too much. For a long time, Mayfair had a lock on upscale stores in the area (Pottery Barn and the like) but many of those stores have opened a location at Bayshore too. The anchor stores here are "meh" at best. Boston Store's Brookfield location is superior in terms of product, size and organization. Macy's just flat out blows. This mall really needs a Nordstrom or something to set it apart from other malls, since Macy's is opening at Southridge now and Von Maur is headed to Brookfield. On the plus side, the mall management tries hard to attract businesses and keeps the common areas clean and fresh. They've responded to past incidents with a security program that really appears to be working, so kudos to them. read more

Took my daughter to the mall I used to go to in my late teens. Something about nostalgia that is nice to share. It's a nice and clean mall with plenty of stores. There is a Nordstrom and Macy as their anchor stores. The food court is ok and a few restaurant on the outside. read more

Mall was very crowded (Christmas holiday and all). Most of the shops had great sales, and there was a lot of entertainment in certain areas. Food lines were long in the food court, but that was to be expected. It looks like they are adding new stores, which will help keep in business. Well, as one might expect from a sprawling structure flanked by The Cheesecake Factory and chaotic parking--it's a shopping mall. And, while shopping malls generally make me feel vaguely homicidal and occasionally philosophical (to buy or not to buy, that is the question), sometimes, as one's holiday shopping spree begins it's inevitable exhausted wind down--the idea of one-stop-shopping sings like caroling siren. And, then, there you are. Standing on the precipice that is mall shopping. Or, something like that. As far as shopping malls go, Mayfair is a-ok. They've stayed true to the 80's style shopping mall (single, large, shop filled structure), veering away from the current fashion of town center style malls. I'm not complaining. The 80's style is functional when it's cold out (if a bit dated). Mayfair offers your standard mall stores (Boston Store, Bath & Bodyworks, The Body Shop, Macy's) and obligatory movie theater with no real standouts. I guess if there's a standout, it would be the two-storied lit filled Barnes & Noble. There's just something about a store so filled with books that it requires an escalator that makes my heart sing a little. One odd note: the second floor is carpeted. It's weird, but actually kinda reduces the echo-y mall noise--so, consensus? Cool. An important note: Maggiano's Little Italy makes a decent whiskey old fashioned for when you reach the point of shopping liberation (ie: you've purchased all you need to and now, frankly, you need a drink). There's not a log of shopping in this mall. I guess i've been to better places If your looking to buy tennis shoes this is the place they seem to have more shoe store than anything else. They will have a few additional stores coming 2015 I think but nothing any time soon. Somehow this mall has been holding on and evolving for many years. There was certainly a stretch of years you could say they let themselves go, like when department store after department store closed - it was looking a little scary. But as businesses learn, you either evolve with the times or get left behind. I think Mayfair brought in some key businesses, starting with having Nordstrom build a brand new store with covered parking the back side of the mall. Plus there have been numerous other new companies signing leases that helps lend an air of optimism to the mall. They also have an AMC upstairs if you care for a movie. That movie theater hasn't been updated in far too long, but that's a different review. When I feel like shopping in person, I know there are many shops at the mall I would gladly stop into. I definitely couldn't say that about Mayfair Mall a couple of years ago, but I'm glad they have been vigilant about staying relevant! read more

I was very disappointed walking through the mall today. There was a confederate flag shirt on display and I asked the kiosk owner if he understood that this could be offense. He replied he did not care and that I need to mind my business and find something better to do with my time. I complained to public safety about the confederate flag on display and they were very nonchalant about the issue. I was brushed off and told I could submit my issue online. Over the years, I have visited Mayfair mall too many times to count. In the past, I have been unhappy with parking issues and access to the mall itself, mostly due to construction projects. Today, 12/23/15, I visited the mall and was happy to see no construction issues, blockages, barricades and no problem parking; i.e., on the east side parking area, there was no parking lot grid lock with other drivers and I found a parking space relatively quickly; again, two days before Christmas! I was also happy not to see a bunch of rowdiness in the mall, something that I have witnessed from time to time here, but I believe the powers to be finally got a handle on it and with a compliment of security patrols, both inside the mall and the high visibility cadre of security vehicles on the parking lot, it looks like thinks have calmed down in that area quite a bit. read more

Security tends to keep obnoxious teenagers at bay, for the most part, and there's a good selection of the usual stores and some that are less common. There's an Allen Edmonds outlet store and a South Asian grocery store nearby so I can be tricked into coming here. I suppose I may also come back after the apocalypse if I get infected with that zombie virus. read more

This is probably my go-to mall, next to Bayshore. I like Mayfair because it's all enclosed and it's nicely laid out. Mayfair has a Body Shop while Bayshore doesn't. However, Bayshore has an H&M, while Mayfair does not. I like the AMC theater in here the best because they offer a $5 matinee on the weekends. I always find it gross that Abercrombie pumps out atrocious music and sickening cologne. And for a while (maybe not now?) a sausage kiosk was situated right outside of it and it was the most nauseating experience to walk by. I rush past that area if I have to. read more

Yesterday the player piano outside the Nordstrom store was playing a selection of tunes. I am not a fan of this trend to have two competing background sounds -- in this case a player piano and the piped in Mall music. However, today the list of tunes included a longer rendition of Rock of Ages. Huh? Who the hell decided to do this? I get that in the build up to the holiday shopping season I might get more than my fair share of Christmas tunes, but Rock of Ages? Is this a Mall or a bible camp? read more

The mayfair is the only mall in the surroundings but personally I do not really love it. I miss a nice and quiet place to have some coffee. The Starbucks stand doesn't have any seating and the foodcorner only offers fastfood without a cosy atmosphere. The offer of stores isn't super but you'll find what you need. The big ones like victoria's secret and forever 21 are present and some smaller shops like garage do make a visit worth your while. There's also a cinema and a hairdresser. Overall I go to mayfair when I need something but not really just to spend a relaxing afternoon. read more

I visit Mayfair based on the location and the shops inside (a solid 4 stars). However, it is increasingly more stressful to visit Mayfair due to the insane road construction and the fact they keep building onto the mall and into the parking lot. It is so annoying!!! (the parking situation is like a 2 star) Don't even try to visit this mall during traditional busy shopping periods such as Black Friday or Christmas time, it's nearly impossible to find a parking spot. I do like the curfew that keeps the wild kids out but get frustrated when the barley 18-yr-old security asks for my id. I am clearly over 18 and not a trouble maker but they don't hesitate to let their acquaintances that appear to be about 15 years old go by without a check. The "free" wifi is very spotty. The mall is generally clean and the bathrooms are actually pretty decent for mall bathrooms. I'm looking forward to the addition of Nordstrosm, except that it took up more of the parking spaces in the back where I was generally able to find a spot. If they could get the parking situation under control I'd bump my rating up to 4 stars, but with the continuous additions and renovations, I do not see that ever happening. read more

I've grown to hate shopping centers. None of the popular shopping areas in the area are convenient for me, although Mayfair is about the least inconvenient for me. My formative years coincided with the rise of the suburban shopping center (Bay Shore, Capital Court, Southgate) and as centers morphed into the shopping mall (Southridge, Northridge, Brookfield Square.) When Mayfair was built, it was waaaaaaay out in the country and people scoffed at anyone foolish enough to build something like this in the middle of (relative) nowhere. Mr. Schroeder got the last laugh, if he had lived long enough to enjoy it. Mayfair has gone through a lot of changes. It started as an outdoor shopping center that converted to an indoor mall with the rise of Southridge, Northridge and Brookfield Square. There used to be a skating rink and a McDonalds where Starbucks is now. A second floor was added, along with a food court and now a Nordstroms. Mayfair was originally more upscale and seems to be headed that way again, the trendy (junky) stores of the past are gone. While Bay Shore has converted to a town center and Brookfield Square is headed that way, Mayfair has remained a traditional shopping mall, although outlying stores have clobbered the once spacious parking lot. IMHO, town centers are the most miserable places in the world to try and buy something. Even with all Mayfair has going for it, parking at peak times is miserable. Getting in and out from both North Avenue and Mayfair Road can be frustrating. The truth is, traffic is even worse at the other aforementioned centers. For that reason alone, Mayfair is the one shopping mall I tolerate having to go to now and again. read more

Generally, Mayfair Mall is a cool place with some very nice stores and a very nice environment, however, I am temporarily docking their rating because of how appalling their security personnel had treated me along with a Wet Seal employee. Yesterday, I was shopping at Wet Seal and tried on some items. Apparently a security tag had fallen off one of the items, but I didn't think it was such a big deal. I returned all the items I had tried on to the employee and walked out the store. Halfway through the mall, I was stopped by that employee and two mall security guards because of this incident. The employee checked my bags and found nothing, but banned me from the store because the security tags were "hard to get off" and I was supposed to tell her something was wrong when she kept asking me if everything was okay. I was also ejected from the mall for the rest of the day. I was clearly upset by the situation since all my merchandise had been paid for and filed a complaint about the store. Throughout the situation, I remained as polite and reasonable as possible. I also plan to file a complaint about the mall security since one of them talked to me in what I felt was a rude, accusatory tone and that it was security's responsibility to be checking my bags, not that employee's. More important was that I had asked for that employee's name repeatedly and the security personnel either dodged or refused to answer my question. I also feel upset about the ban since I was also the only Asian shopper in that store. Although I cannot be certain, I felt the employee had targeted me because of my ethnicity and I felt that the security may have been treating me badly because of this too. From what a colleague told me, that particular Wet Seal store has a manager who particularly targets and cause problems to Asian shoppers as well. On a positive note, I hear no issues with the other Wet Seal stores in the Milwaukee area. Overall, I find this situation to be both humiliating and hurtful. I hope that Yelpers take this aspect into account the next time they shop both at the mall or at that store. Footnote: I am innocent in the matter and I happen to be a well-dressed college student in her mid-twenties. There was no reason for them to be suspicious at all. read more

There are things I like about Mayfair mall and a few things I do not. It is not the most child friendly mall. There is no play space such as Southridge and Bayshore. My daughter is very disappointed that there is not a Disney store located in the mall, neither is there a McDonalds in the food court. As far as eating establishments, I would say that is one of the strongest things that Mayfair has going for it. In and outside of the mall you will find any genre of food in almost any price range. In the second floor food court you will find your basic food court options - pizza, Chinese, fast food. For the kiddos Hannah can be placated with Burger King in the absence of McDonalds. Mid-range priced food options include Panera and Applebees and on the higher end you will find Maggianos and Cheesecake Factory. If you are hungry you will not be lacking in options. Another great aspect of Mayfair mall is the Barnes and Noble. This two story Barnes and Noble has a great selection and a very informative staff. A staff in the children's area was able to tell me the complete history of My Little Pony from the 80's till now. :) Mayfair is more expensive then some of the other malls, possibly the most expensive mall in the greater Milwaukee area. This is not a bad thing, Mayfair is able to offer a greater variety of shops and specialty stores. There is a policy (PGR) that is in effect Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays after 3pm for guests age 17 and under. No guests allowed under 17 without a parent or guardian. If you get on Mayfair's email list you periodically receive free $10 gift cards to the first so many customers. read more

"My holiday" pictures with Santa! A wonderful way for kids to experience their childhood with pictures of them with Santa in such close distance to home; the mall. The experience is not worth the cost though. For $39.99 you get 10 seconds with Santa and the smallest pack of pictures. To a lot of people that is a lot of money & in most scenarios with only a hi & bye encounters with Santa I would say it's very unaffordable for all families to afford such a thing especially or the short time. Now...we had a different situation with our time so it was definitely worth the $45 (after tax) but only reviewing this due to the fact that the workers who are taking the pictures/printing the pictures weren't able to print the ones that the family chose to do. They give you a few options and then you go on your way since they get sent to the printer. Due to the fact the staff is very uncoordinated with eachother on telling the person the right photo to print at the printer the few couples in front of us noticed that right after they were printed those were the wrong ones. So that stopped us from finishing our shoot and stalling the waiting line since the moms wanted the correct pictures (understandable) & they needed the sd card from the camera to find the picture which made them not be able to keep going with other customers. I think there should be a better solution when it comes to making sure all customers are satisfied in these situations especially after spending $40+ dollars and then having to wait for your photos to be re printed off and looking through the choices all over again, while holding up other people in that situation. Hopefully next year it's better. Last year they had a better system and different employees which when I was there everything seemed to work out. It's sad to come and take pics with Santa and see that the staff looks like they don't want to be there, they don't care about there job and kind of moping around especially since there in Santa hats & working with Santa! read more

This is a mall. It has a lot of stores. It also has food and a movie theatre. The other day I was here with my partner and she asked to go to the Mac store. I got excited then realized that it wasn't the... Apple store... but the MAC store. Much to my chagrin, I quickly realized this was a make-up store. Be sure to have an escort if you're under the age of 18. Mall security will stop you if you don't look old enough or if you're lingering around. Bathroom are clean-ish. Pro-tip: Don't fall asleep on a bench. Mall security will ask you to leave. read more

I like Mayfair more than any of the other major malls in Wisconsin. I am lucky it is close to my house. Since they have implemented PGR on weekends, the mall is much quieter. I don't think it has ever been unsafe and I am not afraid (I go alone frequently), but there used to be a ton of obnoxious mall kids there like at Southridge. Be sure to park on the east side of the mall. It is super easy to find a spot and sometimes you get one under the roof if you are lucky. I like the wide variety of stores at Mayfair. The upper level is mostly kid/teen shops with a few assorted stores for home or beauty mixed in. My favorite stores there are Alterra, Soaps and Scents, Teavana, Godiva, Apple, Victorias Secrets, Sephora and Restoration Hardware. I never eat at the food court. But there is a PF Changs, Cheesecake factory, McCormick & Schmick and Maggianos to name a few decent restaurants to dine at just outside the mall. I didn't know about the wi-fi. It kinda ticks me off because I bought several iPhones from that specific Apple store. They couldn't tell me the mall had wi-fi?! Grrr. read more

As far as malls go, Mayfair is A-Ok. What's best here is the curfew. It is hilarious and wonderful watching the little kids get thrown out. That being said, the mall is clean, not obnoxiously crowded, and has all the stores you could desire. The parking lot could definitely use a redesign (which I believe it is currently undergoing), but I don't know of any mall that is easy to park in. read more

A-Ok pretty much sums it up. Closest to my house and a good mix of stores, but so busy as to make parking a cutthroat competition. The management is great about trying to keep the place friendly to everyone and not overrun by teenagers, but it can feel militant at times. Visited this mall a couple of times as it reminded me of malls back in Dallas. It was nice to find lots of stores I had been looking for in one place. There was Lush, Sephora, Aveda, Nordstrom, AMC theatres, then McCormick and Schmick's plus the cheesecake factory and others. Mayfair has come a long way from where it used to be. I remember a time when it was riddled with fights and unaccompanied kids but it has really worked hard to improve its image, and successfully I might add. The shops are nice, and it has a few hidden gems in its side hallways. The food court could honestly use an update, especially in its selection but it has your typical mall food. My favorite shop is Lush. It always smells nice and the employees are really helpful and nice. There is also a great candy store on the first floor that has a cool customizable candy jar that makes a fun gift. My favorite is to buy a book from Barnes and Noble and sit in their starbucks with a coffee while reading. Have fun exploring! read more
