I have owned many homes in my lifetime. I dealt with all kinds of service people…read more The good pro,s always cost me an arm and a leg. Now, let me tell you about Lyons heating and air in Flint, Michigan. I hired a handyman to put in a few ceiling fans and to change out a thermostat. The handyman did nothing right. Rob was the serviceman. He rewired my thermostat so it worked and he checked my total HVAC system. In addition he was concerned about my electrical problems. Turned out I had 27 volts to my security light instead of 120volts. Rob told me that one or more ceiling fans was miswired. He also told me that my security lights may have bad sensors The kicker is I only paid for the changing of the thermostat...very reasonable charge. People ,there are a bunch of greedy crooks out there ..I guarantee you Lyons heating will treat you right. Roberto c Gayton

Rheem is the best furnace we have ever had I recommend everyone to get a Rheem.

These guys at Fralick were top knotch. My furnace went out during winter with a baby in the home,…read moreand they tried everything they could to fix the old one before finding out that I would need a new furnace. The price was very fair considering the fact that it included the work trying to fix the old furnace and the installation of the new one. Tom is one of the guys who tried to fix the old furnace and he is fantastic! A great experience working with this company. They were fast and made us a priority. Fralick made sure we didn't go without heat especially with a baby in the house. Highly recommend these guys!!

From:…read moreFralick Heating fralickandsons@gmail.com To:Gregory Ivory Sat, Mar 19 at 6:13 PM I made you aware of it from the beginning that the permit was an extra charge and you never discussed any objection to me personally. Second the thermostat that caused the problem and contention was something I asked from the beginning as far as changing or not you said you were good Davison caused these problems ive had extra cost and additional time due to problems no fault of mine which I will eat as long as invoice is paid in full sincerebates cannot be processed through consumers until contract is settled and paid for if you have grievous take it up who caused your issues in the first place we solved your issues in the quickest time possible thank you have a nice weekend Above is the poor attitude that the owner of the company (Dorian) gives His customers! Out of 6 quotes taken to replace our furnace, 4 of the companies did mention that the mandatory Building permit would be drawn. Fralick, is one of two that had not, nor did he intend to; I discovered this the morning of the installation. When the installation had been completed the unit would not produce hot air; after running for two hours, it could only warm the house to 68 degrees. Outside temp was 20 degrees that day. I called to make Him aware, have it looked at and corrected. Hours later he showed up and made a few changes to the settings on the unit and said give it some time to correct itself. My Wife and I expressed our dissatisfaction with the fact that we still have no heat, His responses were disgusting! His first reply, "This is new technology, and you may have to get use to how it works". C'mon it is a furnace; it is supposed to heat the home! Second reply, "70 degrees is not so bad". Then thirdly, to add insult to injury he say's" This is still better than the kerosene heaters that you were using". All the time being too full of pride to admit that there was a problem; one that he could not identify. He was done, He left! The next morning my Wife had me call Bob Cookingham, the representative from Blessing Heating and Cooling. He had been out and had given us a quote; this was my wife's' first choice. He took the call and said he'd be at the house in 30 minutes. He was at our door within 30 minutes and after 10 minutes He knew something was not right. It took another 20 minutes for Bob to identify that the AC was running simultaneously with the heating unit; cooling the air down to 68 degrees. He isolated the trouble to the thermostat which was likely damaged by the previous failed installation. Bob was a total class act; He never spoke badly about Fralick and Sons. He even complimented their work. Bob refused any compensation for His efforts, He recommended that we not mention His visit to Fralick and Sons nor that He isolated the problem, but only point them in the right direction. After telling Bob what was said by Dorian (the owner of Fralick and Sons), the news that someone else identified the problem that he failed to, would not likely be received well. The next evening without getting a follow-up call from Dorian or anyone from Fralick and Sons to check on how we were doing, I texted Dorian, and informed Him "It appears that the AC was running as well as the furnace. I turned off the breaker to the AC unit and now we are getting good heat". The installer came out and began to trouble shoot. He pinned it down to the thermostat. He was apologetic and said, "I am sorry, that's something I should have caught". Hearing the installer (Patrick), accept accountability made all the difference in the world! Thank you, Patrick. Dorian did show up. He seemed a bit giddy. Probably because they didn't cause the problem and got to make a few bucks on the sale of a thermostat. Dorian did say that He never heard the AC running when He was here the night before and missed the issue. And as you can see from His response above, that He had no part in "our issues". With sarcasm I say, Thank you for your "absolute Professionalism" Dorian!

I really wanted…read morecentral air-conditioning, but knew it would be problematic because of the plaster ceiling and walls. Not only that, but I have a boiler and radiator heating system system and I wasn't willing to replace it in lieu of a furnace for central air and heat. I did get one bid and that was for mini splits only and then only in 2 bedrooms upstairs and one unit in the dining room. The price was astronomical and I thought I would be resigned to using portable air-conditioning units during the hot months. That was, until I found Jeff. We scheduled an appointment for a free estimate, and he determined that he could install central air conditioning in all four bedrooms and the bathroom upstairs by placing the air-conditioning unit in my attic. The other company I had give me an estimate never even thought of that concept. The possibility of having central air downstairs wasn't an option because of a number of different obstacles. I have two mini splits downstairs, situated in rooms that will allow for maximum cooling of every room on the lower level. Tyler, Ethan, Hunter, and Jeff, himself, were meticulous and took pride in their workmanship. They went to great lengths to ensure that my flooring was covered and everything was cleaned up at the end of the day. I've had a lot of work done at my house since last June, and this crew was the most polite, thorough, and hardworking as I've seen! I would give Optimal Heating and Cooling 100 stars if I could!

It is inconvenient for them to deal with home warranties, and they aren't very gracious about that. I understand that it takes them extra time. At the same time, I am paying them money (and it will be quite a bit given the problems in the home we just bought), and it is best for my family to be reimbursed as much as possible by our home warranty. We can afford to fix more and hire Coates more when we are reimbursed for approved services. What we love: the men have done good work and have been polite in our home. They don't leave a mess. They answer questions thoroughly and patiently. They have pointed out problems that aren't necessary to fix immediately, but will come up within the next 5 years, and even gave us a written estimate for those repairs so that we can plan for those expenses and not be taken by surprise. They walked me through how to use and maintain plumbing and HVAC systems in our home that we were unfamiliar with (whole house humidifier, whole house water filtration, water softener, well pump, sump pump and drain, etc.) and it was a huge help!

I explained that the unit needed to be replaced, but they said a technician still needed to assess the situation first. The technician was there for about 15 minutes, confirmed the unit was bad, and wrote up a proposal -- then I was billed an additional $312. None of these additional charges were disclosed to me in advance.
