Who wouldn't stay in a hotel that looks like a castle, right?! Although the outside looks like a castle, which is cool, the inside is pretty modern. A couple of things that weren't the best for our stay: We asked to get moved because the a/c in our room was extremely loud and gave off a weird smell, plus the adjoining door had a broken lock. We only had 1 room so this was definitely a safety concern. Something we noticed in both rooms is that the front room door was not flush; had a gap (see pic). Outside of that, the staff was friendly and the rooms were clean.

First time in NH. Upon driving up to the hotel, it's hard to not be impressed by what looks like a castle. Let's go over the basics: Room: Spacious and comfortable. I love the stand up desk function on the round table in the corner. It made my remote work easy. The bed was great; the pillows were too soft for my personal liking. The bathroom was spacious and the view from the 4th floor wasn't bad at all! The fridge came in handy, as did the USB outlets on the headboard/nightstand. Food: Breakfast service was a little slow, but Hannah (I believe that was her name) was incredible and made sure to check on our food once she saw we'd been waiting for a bit. The breakfast burrito was a little bland but still rather filling, my husband chose the Irish oatmeal and said it was a good choice. Location: Easy to find (unless waze takes you around the back of the hotel, which is full of potholes...) with decent food choices close by and stores in the close vicinity. Parking: There's plenty of it in front of the hotel. No need to fight for the front row! Pulling up to the hotel is for pick up and drop off only, don't leave your vehicle there - buses pass through. Service: My only qualm was our first night we had no hot water. The following morning immediately after we had breakfast I let the front desk know. I was asked "did you let it run for a bit?" They took my room number and said nothing else. I left for the day and came back down to the front desk later that evening and told the same person that I still had no hot water. I was told one of the boilers had broken and that they were moving me to another immediately. I'm grateful, but wish we'd been moved a little earlier. Regardless, a small issue rectified before our departure. A solid 4/5. Would definitely stay again.

    Breakfast - just perfect.

Comfortable beds, clean rooms and great breakfast. Plenty of parking and pretty close to freeway and additional shopping, restaurants, etc. Friendly staff make it a 5-star experience.

The rooms are cramped, walls are paper thin, and worst of all DIRTY. Upon checking in I found my sheets were covered in hair. The same can be said of the pillow cases and shower curtain. It was clear that nothing in this room had ever been cleaned. Upon showering the smell emanating from the shower curtain grew. It stank of cigarettes and curry; a putrid combo. The room also faintly smelled of cigarettes from other patrons smoking on the balcony all night. Needless to say, I will never return. Poor form, not very sporting. TL;DR Noisy, Stinky, Dirty. AVOID!!

Absolutely Disgusting and Unacceptable Stay This was one of…read morethe most disgusting hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. The condition of the room was shocking and completely unacceptable for paying guests. The mattresses were flat, misshapen, and heavily stained with deep yellow discoloration that looked unsanitary and unsafe to sleep on. To make matters worse, the mattresses were actually smaller than the cheap metal cot-style bed frames they sat on. Because of this, you could clearly see the dirt, debris, and built-up filth accumulated around the mattress and frame -- something no guest should ever have to see. The room itself was bare and uncomfortable, with no lamps, no end tables, and no decor -- just a plain white room under harsh fluorescent lighting that made the space feel more like a prison cell than a hotel. The bathroom was equally disturbing, with stained tile that appeared poorly cleaned and neglected. There were also cigarette burns on the TV stand, reinforcing the overall impression that maintenance and cleanliness are not a priority here. This was not simply an older or budget hotel -- the room was filthy and far below basic standards of cleanliness and comfort.

DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!! Let me start by saying child endangerment, negligence, dirty rooms, and…read moreheartlessness. This location failed from the ground up, from housekeeping, to front desk management not attempting to contact us while we were onsite, to no follow up from upper management within 24 hours of the incident. I do not recommend anyone staying here. It is unhygienic and unsafe, especially if you have children. This situation has left me with no faith In this brand. My less than one year old found broken glass in the room and put it in her mouth. We immediately took it out before she was hurt. When we went to look for more it turned out to be a broken crack pipe sitting in the corner of the room (picture included). When I brought the pipe to the desk I was not rude but was rightly upset (I know it's not the front desks fault) the staff proceeded to tell me they knew that the previous occupants had been doing drugs in the room, and had to clean more than a few pipes out of said room. Now there are a couple of issues with this. 1) This room was less than 100 feet from the front desk, you knew what was going on and didn't call the cops? 2) This means no one ran a vacuum or even walked around the room to double check that it was a safe and clean environment for the next guest prior to check in? 3) How clean can their regular rooms be? If they didn't vacuum I highly doubt they wiped anything down. Those kinds of drugs leave a residue that can be absorbed by the skin putting anyone in that room in danger of exposure like my two small children who crawl, touch everything, and put their hands in their mouths. Then the run around started. I requested to speak to a general manager or higher and was told he wasn't in and hard to get a hold of during the weekends. Then I was told more than 4 times by multiple employees that they had spoken to Greg multiple times, he just refused to speak to me (that's a great way to represent the company you work for). I also requested to speak to the management of housekeeping and received the same answers... absolutely disrespectful. My child was exposed to drugs and if we didn't catch her as quickly as we did her life could have been put In danger and nobody cared. When I called all of the corporate numbers, I couldn't get through to anyone and was left on hold for at least an hour and that's another corporate failure.

There was a loud fan noise in the bathroom. But with the door shut it didn't bother me. A/c heat worked well and can be turned off completely. A con is that you cannot open the window for fresh air. No fridge or microwave. Tucked in a wooden area.

A true, traditional, historic B and B can't be beat, and that is what Timber Post is! She dealt with my questions very helpfully over the phone before arriving, and then the moment I arrived. Vivian has every little beautiful or welcoming detail covered, and the place is immaculately clean. There are intriguing antiques and pictures everywhere to add to the ambiance. The breakfast is sumptuous, but despite all that work, she was kind enough to make me something I preferred. I stayed two nights, at the start and end of my road trip, in two different parts of her lodgings. Both were lovely. It's quiet, for a light sleeper like me, and also important for a woman traveling alone, I felt safe. Vivian even has done the genealogy on the Inn from its early years, and discovered she's descended from the some of the original owners! She said how the community there has been so kind to her. Now that's real sense of place. I highly recommend Timber Post for a true New England Bed and Breakfast experience, in rural Hollis. A delight.

Note: I deleted and reposted this, bc her response illegally posted some personally identifiable information. The response also showed the inability to internalize feedback, and misguided perspective on that feedback. Example: We SHOWED her the booking.com website where it clearly stated private bathroom in multiple places. I've added the photo to show that it said private bathroom, and yet she's insisting that it does not show this. This is how delusional she is.
