Dillon was great. Got a quick appointment for an issue with my built in GE Monogram fridge freezer which wasn't keeping tings frozen. He checked it out, did some tests and all seemed fine. Did some deep vacuuming inside the guts and it was fixed right up. I was expecting a big bill as these things can run into a ton of money but was pleasantly surprised. Plus, he showed us what to do if it should happen again, a simple fix. And he installed a gauge on the cooling line to keep an eye on it. We will most definitely use him again when needed. I was referred to Dillon by Martin & Harris (a pretty solid reference!) when our 12 year old refrigerator had conked out. He got back promptly, was able to come out the same afternoon. The problems were a combination of things that required a complicated repair, but he did it and it's back on its feet hopefully for a few more years. We recently had a "fridge emergency" where the temp controls stopped working and a freezer full of salmon was threatened with spoilage. I called our local appliance store and they didn't have an available tech for days but recommended Sheppard's Repair Service. I called them and got Dillon, who had me video what was going on. From that, he ordered what he expected was the needed part, which unfortunately needed to be special ordered. It arrived the next day and Dillon came out in the late afternoon on a Friday to install it and it was indeed the issue and our refrigerator is completely back to normal. Dillon is the best! We had a broken wine room cooling unit (old Breezaire) and after calling many AC and Refrigeration people, we kept hearing that no one works on them. Until we found Dillon and he saved the day! I sent a Yelp quote request and within 20 minutes he responded with his phone number saying he had some ideas. We chatted and he said it was likely a refrigerant leak and he could come take a look. With the hot weather we were very worried about the wine and were shocked that he was able to squeeze us in later that morning, which was so appreciated. After numerous refrigerator repairs and 16+ years of looking, Dillon is my new "go to" refrigerator repair person, and you should make him yours too. Sadly, a very rare breed. He returns calls, called to inform me he was about 10-15 minutes behind scheduled arrival. No 2-4 hour time window spent waiting around for someone who may never even show, and he is extremely kind and personable to boot. He explained exactly what he was looking at, and how he was going to proceed. Actually, ideally I would only like to open this referral to first 50 people who read and use him after reading this review. I am sure with all of the additional referrals he would get he might get so busy that I might have trouble getting him to come back should I ever need him again for my other 2 refrigerators. I have a GE Monogram Beverage Center refrigerator that looks brand new still, despite being well over 10+ years old, but stopped keeping my drinks cold, **sigh**. I had another highly rated Yelp Appliance Repair person who came out to look at it, and diagnosed needing a new compressor. Unfortunately, he also said that he wouldn't be able to fix it, and additionally told me that it didn't make sense to fix, since the cost to repair versus buying a new wouldn't "pencil out". He left me thinking I should throw out my $2000+ appliance that still looks brand new, but stopped cooling, and get a new one. Glad I didn't heed his advice as it seemed really wasteful and sadly, his diagnosis ($95) was wrong, and wish I could get a refund. On the contrary, I am extremely thrilled that I was able to find Dillon. Yes, I had to pay another diagnosis fee, but at least he was able to correctly diagnosis and fix my unit, and at a significantly lower price than a compressor replacement, not to mention what an identical replacement would've cost. Equally important, I should mention that over the phone Dillon had assured me that if it was indeed the compressor that needed replacement, that he could in fact replace it. "But that's not all folks," not only did he offer the ability to replace the compressor, but also offered another option to help make the "fix vs. replace" dilemma easier if this really was the problem. Being one of those families that purchased all brand/line matching appliances, keeping things that way can cost a significant amount because of obsolescence, which requires replacing many appliances unnecessarily just so everything matches, or buying an exact replacement despite it being a brand/line of appliance that I you are not certain you would really buy again if given the choice. Neither sounds great, so repairing a item that really does still look new at a reasonable price is really ideal. Simply put, Dillon is A "GREAT VAL U" All-Star in my book, he really came through and I couldn't be happier. Having an appliance that still matches, and was able to be repaired for the 1/5th the cost I was previously quoted by a different repair person for replacing a compressor, that was actually working fine, was not only a huge bonus, but also a blessing. Hopefully it will at least stay operable until some of our other "matching" appliances conk-out, at which point I can re-evaluate which appliance brand/line we will move forward with. However, if it doesn't I know I can count on Dillon to give me a honest evaluation of what's wrong and how to best proceed. Thanks again Dillon!! read more

Dillan was remarkable in every way. Cheerful, careful of my floor he pulled out my dead 8 year old refrigerator with the intention of fixing it on the very day i called! A holiday.... President's Day! He trouble-shot in a logical way, making sure it had power and took out the computer board. Normally you would have to wait a week while your food spoiled, but to my delight he said he thought he really had one of these at his parts storage place. Off he went and was soon back and voila! I contacted Dillon on Sunday afternoon after installing a capacitor-relay to the compressor on my 10 year old Kitchenmaid as per instructed by Youtube University. He replyed very quickly that it was probably the compressor itself as I had checked for the more obvious problems. As I had just spent $100 on parts, He said it wasn't worth the cost to replace. I asked him how soon he could come to confirm, he arrived Monday morning 9:00 between other service calls. He rechecked then diagnosed low refrigerant. He quickley installed a tap, added refrigerant and got it working all for the cost of a service call $160! Unfortunately he informed that it wouldn't last, though 2 days later still going strong. He gave us recommended brands for replacement. All stores are having sales, all have at least 2 week wait for delivery. Thanks to Dillon we can hopefully weather the wait.
