I was shocked when I went over the surgery. The first question is asked is what kind of implant are you going to use. The answer was a Titanium one. Gee, I know more about the oil being put in my car. It quickly became apparent to me that this University was not the place. I happened to visit Tampa and was talking to friends there and someone recommended 'stem therapy'. I am not into quick fixes or magic solution, but once I looked into found it to be a $5K procedure. This in comparison to 10x and many weeks of recovery. I decided to take a chance and talked to 3 different centers. Owner, Dr. Robert Dean, is a wonderful, charismatic gentleman, and we have a great relationship, however I have been trying for a week, to hear back from him as to why my knee pain has not improved at all, when the rest of my shoulder treatment will be done and how this will be handled since I am back in NY until December. I need to have them complete the shoulder procedure that I paid in full for. Dr. Dean had told me that best results for the stem cells to work would take 4-6 months but last week, one of his staff told me it's more like 12 months. She was having a rough night and the hospital tried for hours to get a hold of the "on call doctor" Dr. Phillip Atigre. They called his house and his cell phone several times to no avail. They even escalated the issue to hospital management who also tried to reach him. One of the nurses ended up having to put in a prescription since Dr. Atigre would not respond to anyone. Well, I finally reach him the next day and I ask him what happened the night before and his response was to tell me to never call his office again....terrible
