We love Shenker! My son has been attending the school for over a year starting at 7 months old. I was so nervous to drop him off as a baby, but Ms Debora is such an amazing caregiver. The class was organized, communicative, and I felt so at ease knowing my baby was in their hands. Now he is in the Ducklings with Ms Alyssa and I can't say enough positive things about her and her teaching style. My son has learned so much going to this school even though he has only just turned two, he is counting past 10, reading letters, coming home with new learnings every day. I have never known kinder, hardworking, knowledgeable, gentle and caring individuals in my life than the staff in butterflies infant class. They truly care for the babies like they are their own! Our son went to the school for two years and he just graduated from pre-K. The school is amazing from day one. The administrative staff is super friendly and supportive. The teachers have been great for both years. Shout out to Ms Chloe, Ms Jerrie, Ms MaryAnn, and Ms Merideth. Thank you so much for your love and your care and your kindness towards our son and other kids. My son has learnt so much and the teachers have been keeping us updated on a daily basis of his progress as well as informed us of any situation or incident with him. Student reports were very comprehensive which really helped us understand every aspect that our son was growing or falling behind. We loved the program over there. The kids had the opportunity to learn not only academic subjects but also had a chance to participate in social, musical, and other areas. We loved the graduation event. Some schools do not offer graduation ceremony which can be disappointing for the children. It's good to see the children see themselves rewarded for their work and be proud of their accomplishments and dreams for their future when they see the value in their work. Thank you for the little graduation gift bag. So many good memories concealed in the bag to cherish. Getting rewarded is a good encouragement for little children. The teachers have also kept us updated on a daily basis of school events and class events with consistent communication. The administrative staff also reached out to us when something reported by a teacher. We are so glad we sent our son to the school. By the way the campus has great facilities that are well equipped and the environment is very clean and safe for the children. I have never dealt with anyone with 0 professionalism and lack of class like Ms. Beth Millers, Head of Shenker Academy. She very rudely answered my phone call with her, did not let me speak and hung up on my face. If the nature of the call is not to her liking, she is rude, and extremely unprofessional and the Temple should most definitely not want a person like her as the face of their school much less with the title of "Head of school" . I hope the Temple sees this as a serious matter, if she treats people she does not know this way, imagine her staff. read more

I have been eyeing this school for the last three years and sad to say that this school seems to discriminate against children with medical and religious exemptions. I was welcomed to do a tour since there are openings for summer to start this May. This is what they initially told me. They obtained all information until they asked for our updated vaccinations, once I stated having medical exemption legally within the state of Nevada, they completely changed their attitude, and told me they are fully booked for the summer and fall, and that they don't know when they'll call me when they're open again. I was told that I was given the wrong information in the beginning regarding the openings for summer and fall, and that they're completely booked. Since I shared my personal experience on Yelp, employees from this school went out of their way to release my private information to parents and volunteers from this school to speak wrongly about me online at the place where I work based on what I shared regarding the miscommunication and misinformation I experienced via phone in the mist of being put on hold multiple times, then later being disconnected. As I stated previously I have been eyeing this school because I heard nothing but the best in summerlin location. I am sure the owner of Shenker is accepting of receiving feedback regarding his staff, and does not stand behind the harassment and unprofessional conduct I received over the phone and online. read more

I had two kids at that school. After few months we withdrew them from that place. There were a lot of issues especially with the Kinder class. The office has no idea what's going on in each classroom. They put kids in a "box" how they supposed to behave , there is no point of flexibility. Our son has some issue but we were called to the office for trivial matters not only for those big ones. And they were really good in a big words how they will help us but really you are there alone. Kinder main teacher was really good and tried to help my son to adjust to that place but with all the program and no place for flexibility it didn't work out. If you have curious, strategic thinker and sporty kids it's not place for them. It's too academic, kids suppose to learn by play not by stricte structure . The kids learned a lot there but their mental health and ours as parents suffered. read more

As my child finishes his last year at Shenker, I thought it was only appropriate to leave a review. Moving to Vegas has been challenging in so many areas. Whether it has to do with education or healthcare (both of which were significantly better in Orange County). I enrolled my child at Shenker after talking to all the parents I would meet at the park in my neighborhood who would sing the school's praises. I am happy to say, Shenker lived up to my expectations. My child does not speak English as his primary language, and I was worried about how that would affect him. Also if I might add, I would get unsolicited comments from other educators concerning my refusal to speak English to my child at home. I am an educator ( I have a Masters in education and another Masters in school counseling) and I knew he would pick up English just as I did. Upon meeting with Dr. Sharon, he agreed with my approach concerning my son learning two languages, and put me at ease. My son has greatly improved academically and socially at Shenker. He is so happy to go to school, and everyone in the front office knows his name, as they do with ALL the students that attend their school. Dr. Sharon has truly been a joy to work with, and I see how much he cares for his staff and for his students at school. He knows every student's name and he works with every family to accommodate their needs. I honestly believe this school's success comes from the top down. SHADY BUSINESS!! NEVER GET ON THEIR WAITLIST. THEIR WAITLIST SIGN UP SHEET HAS FINE PRINTS THAT WILL CHARGE YOU $500 EARLY TERMINATION FEE, $1,355 30 DAY NOTICE FEE. NOW THE COLLECTION AGENCY IS PURSUING US WHEN WE JUST THOUGHT WE SIGNED UP FOR A DAYCARE WAITLIST WITH NO DATE GUARANTEED. They now claim that we signed an enrollment contract. But we never knew we signed the enrollment contract during our brief first visit. Who in the right mind would sign an enrollment contract in Mar 2023 when the next opening MAY be in May 2024 (no date guaranteed)??? Then one day they decided to put us down for a date that we never agreed to and started counting 30 days. A normal decent business would call and make sure we agree to the date especially it's been more than 9 months since we signed up for the waitlist and we never heard from them. No business would blind side their customers let alone new parents with a lot of financial needs this way. JUST TRUST ME AND NEVER EVER SIGN ANY THING WITH THEM. WHAT YOU THINK MAY BE A SIMPLE WAITLIST MAY BE A "LEGALLY BINDING" ENROLLMENT CONTRACT WITH A HEFTY PENALTY. We toured the place in Mar 2023. They said there may be an opening in May 2024 and will get back to us if there are openings. They told us to sign a paper to get on their waitlist. We did so like we did with other daycares. They never warned us that we'd be charged if we decide not to take a spot that they give us. Thought it was just a waitlist. They never reminded us of the fine prints or warn us that we'd get penalized if we decide not to take the spot when they call. The facilities looked old. Also it did not have cameras for parents to watch their kids. We only got on their waitlist just to hear back if there are openings in case we haven't found another option. Then we decided to move where Shenker academy was too far from. We forgot about the waitlist until Jan 2024. We get an email with the invoice of $1,855 threatening that unless we pay on the day of they'd send it to collection and ruin our credit. Our kid never set foot in the place. They did not render any service. We never enrolled. We just simply got on their waitlist as they instructed us to do. And using that they are trying to get us to pay them $1,855 at the knife point. It's misleading and frankly a terrible business practice that no other facilities do. read more

First of all, let me say how I love that everyone knows my kids' names and ALWAYS says hi to them when we arrive and leave. We feel part of a family of sorts at Shenker. My daughter began last summer at Shenker in Pre-K with Little Explorers. Her teacher, Ms. Jenny, was so good to her and helped her grow more than I thought she could! Both academically and emotionally. You could tell she loves her students, and my daughter loved going to school every day! She was so sad on her last day of Pre-K because she said she was going to miss Ms. Jenny so much! I love that relationships are important at Shenker. My 2 year old son started in late November after we unexpectedly lost our sitter we had had for years. Dr. Sharon was so accommodating and we were so blessed we were able to get him in! It was a real struggle for my son because he was not used to it and would cry daily, but his teachers in Barnyard Pals were AMAZING with him and truly loved him! AND my daughter's teachers would go check on him often to make sure he was ok. It really put my heart at ease knowing this! He ended up LOVING it and he grew SO much! Plus, they pretty much potty trained him, so that was an added bonus! They both still attend for the summer and will be there for the 3s and Kinder! The Head of School was managing schools in Texas and in Tennessee, and he runs this school as an elite private school!!! The curriculum is advanced, my children do 1st and 2nd grade math, reading and writing are two grade level advanced, and their creative art, programs, and tech classes are more of a Texas private school type and less of a Vegas type. No wonder why this school attracts law enforcement, physicians, educators, judges, politicians, business owners like me, and anyone that fits the philosophy of the school. I have businesses in New York, California, Utah, and let me tell you, this is not to be found anywhere! And the tuition is really affordable. read more

My son has been at Shenker for about three months as an infant and we have had an incredible experience, and can't wait to be part of the Shenker family for years to come! The staff are fantastic, friendly, responsive, and organized. The teachers go above and beyond and truly love the kids, thanks to them my son is happy, healthy, rested, fed, playful, and learning so well thanks to the Butterflies room. I can't say enough about the Butterflies room instructors and all they do for the children. They worked hard with my son, who was resisting napping, and now he is a fantastic napper. They also are just the nicest, most thoughtful people and all of them are saints! Also, I am always impressed with Dr. Sharon who legitimately seems to know every single child's name and personal details about them, showing that he truly cares and takes the time to know the kids. Shenker is also always keeping the kids (and parents) engaged with fun activities throughout the year, crafts, etc. and I have to say that when compared with my other friends at different schools, Shenker just far and away seems to be doing so much to make the kids' lives better and enrich them as humans. I have had my almost 3 year old son enrolled at Shenker for almost a year. I could not say enough good things about this school so if you are looking for a school that will transform your child and enable them to blossom and grow and learn and play and love, this is your only choice. I moved to Vegas from LA and let me tell you there is no school like Shenker anywhere in LA no matter what the cost. My son was enrolled in the 18 mo program first at 2 1/2 days a week (all I could stand being away from him). He spoke maybe 10 words when he started at 2 years 3 mo old and now, 9 mo later, he not only speaks in full sentences but they are well thought out and consciously spoken. He has made friends, dealt with the separation anxiety by way of his amazing teachers in now 2 different classes (he started summer in the 2's), and is now getting assistance with potty training. On that note, his teacher took me aside a few weeks ago and let me know the reasons she thought my son was ready for PT and she was spot on. Shenker is a very special place. The classrooms are well thought out, the staff there to ensure parents and children alike are well taken care of (sometimes the mommies cry more than the kids!), the curriculum and layout of their days are so wonderful, not too structured but not too "let the kids decide everything" kind of a place. I looked at the usual schools here in Vegas i.e. TBS, challenger, etc. Shenker is by far and way the best, at least for our needs. We are so happy here. read more

Highly recommend! My 4 year old daughter has been attending the Wonder Kids class with 2 Amazing teachers, Ms Kijai & Ms Darielle. They are a blessing. So easy to talk to. They accommodate my child in any way she needs, and fulfill all my requests. I'm so thankful for these ladies. Communication is fantastic. I'm very impressed with the progress in only a few short months. The things my daughter comes home telling me blows my mind! I am more than confident she will breeze through Kindergarten. I learned about Shenker Academy through extensive online research! I finally came across Shenker Academy through Yelp and was pleased to read all the positive reviews from parents, so I decided to check out the school. My daughter grandparents (on both sides) expressed their concern that she is too young to attend school. "Why pay for school, when you have both sets of grandparents that can watch her?" I didn't listen, I went with my gut and I can honestly say I made the best decision. Even both sets of grandparents are impressed with her improvement. Now, I rarely write reviews on any business, but Shenker deserves a raving review. My daughter started attending Shenker for the 2018/2019 calendar year and she absolutely loves it! We have our moments when she doesn't want me to leave her (morning drop-off), but aside from that she is excited to be with other children her age, learning, playing and experiencing new things. Ms. Kayla and the other teachers treat my daughter with such care and genuinely cares for her. I trust my daughter is in good hands with Shenker staff. I had to remove my daughter from Merryhill because she cried and asked to stay home every morning. Luckily my daughter is accepted by Shenker because they just opened another PreK class. I am very happy about sending my daughter to Shenker. I only speak my native language at home so my daughter knew only a few words in English, and her English improved a LOT just in a few months (she only learned "no more" from Merryhill for 2 months btw). She loves going to school now and has fun every day. All teachers and staff are welcoming and ready to listen and help. We had 2 kids who went to Shenkar from 18 months thru the 4 year old program- we loved it and wish we could stay there forever. Dr. Knafo is amazing- very hands on and in touch with whats going on with the curriculum and classes. He has great advice for early childhood learning and keeps the school up to date and competitive. My kids loved thier teachers and thier friends. It was an amazing environment to grow up in and we cant that Dr. Knafo and all the teachers and support staff enough. This is great daycare and kinder- they will grow one day, my child loved going to kindergarten here. Mrs. Davis and Ms. Jobel were my daughters teachers. And they will be in my daughters heart forever as will all the wonderful friends she made going to school here!! Shenker was our second preschool that we tried and we are so happy that we made the change! While the school is attached to the Temple Sinai, all religions and backgrounds are welcomed. My wife and I are catholic and our son is half Korean, and it is great to be able to have him in a environment that is so diverse and celebrates all cultures. Our son started when he was 4 months old and has been attending for 10 months now. Everyone there is so nice and really does care about your child and getting to know your whole family. The teachers there approach each child as a unique individual and are flexible to ensure the best quality care. While there is structure like daily language sessions (alternating between 4 languages), weekly art projects, and water play in the summers, they work around your requests for feeding, sleep schedules, etc. The most amazing part is the communication. They utilize an app and post realtime updates on diaper changes, how your child ate/drank their milk, sleep, and allow you to respond via text or call to discuss. They also use photo circle to post daily pics of the children in your child's class. We get 3+ pictures daily and the ladies do such a great job of capturing moments that you never feel like you are missing out. During the pandemic they made special provisions to accommodate my family as we were essential workers. They adopted many health and safety practices in advance of state mandates and the principle works closely with the local government and CCSD to ensure they provide the best solutions for the safety of your child. The number of children per classroom was limited, they hired two full time staff to constantly be sanitizing and cleaning (in addition to night time and weekend deep cleans by an external service), they adopted masks for their staff before it was mandated, and even purchased special equipment to sanitize playground equipment multiple times daily. While the school incurred all this additional cost, they never changed their rates and even offered specials for families impacted. read more

I feel so incredibly blessed we found this school. My son went to their 3 year old program last year, my daughter is currently in their 3 year old program for this school year, and was in the 2 year old program last year, and my youngest starts at Shenker for this summer on the 2 year old program. They are also signed up for the Chinese class twice per week and love learning new Chinese words and songs every week. Kids learn at age-appropriate levels at Shenker and love going to school. I've seen consistency with their teachers. Low turnover was important for us and we found that at Shenker. My husband and I have also made friends with the other parents. The entire Shenker community is THE BEST. Only word of advice is to get on the waitlist early! They let us put our son on the Kindergarten waitlist early (in December for August start) since we're already a Shenker family we get priority. However, he is still waitlisted. I am in no way shape or form surprised this school has received 5 star reviews. The security of the school is top notch. The education program my daughter has been on is unbelievable. From the women who run the front desk, to the teachers, all the way up to the director have been nothing but excellent to my daughter and family. We love Shenker Academy so much! Our twin boys have been in the infant butterflies room for over a year now. The lead teacher Ms Deb is amazing and all of the assistant teachers are as well. I sent my boys to this preschool the last 2 1/2 years and I am so happy and impressed with this place! This preschool is the perfect balance between fun and academic. The teachers are all so nice and well-trained to prepare your kids for kindergarten. The school campus and classrooms are clean and well-kept. I can't say enough good things about this preschool. Usually reviews are very subjective and reflects a lot of emotions which are not facts so it's not fair for the business. I'll try to make mine as straightforward as possible by stating only facts. - At the first day it was promised each kid has his own bad. NOT TRUE! My kid shared his bad with one more kid. - My kid slept in a 'rocker' for about 5 weeks before he got a crib. (We are not using that rocker at home for over 4 month as he grew out of it since then). - They are saying they have an "open door" policy so you can drop in when ever you want - 5 minuets after I stop by to do a 'surprise visit', I received a call from the management sayin: "The teacher felt threatened and I made the rest of babies stressed..." By the way, their answer to why my kid didn't got a crib was: "when you signed up we gave you a booklet and in it, there is a section saying to bring sheets", so I asked for 5 weeks you didn't thought to tell me that again?!?! That was your best BS of excuse?! Instead of saying "we are sorry, we don't have enough beds and this is the case, you are trying to cover it up by blaming the parents?!?! OK so the last part is a bit more subjective but I had to... I would have loved it if 'Shenker Academy' will address this review with some relevant answers and not just cliches like: "...Much dedication..." or "...dedicated staff". read more

My son started the Summer Camp, and after 7 days at school he is making great progress. We work with him a great deal on colors, shapes, letters, numbers, and music. However, he needed to build confidence self feeding, walking, socially, and develop better ways to communicate frustration. His vocabulary is already improving greatly as is his confidence. He is just shy of 13 months and began walking confidently last night, he reads a couple words, knows many letter and numbers, and is using his hands to better communicate he needs and wants. We are also seeing an improvement in solo creative/free play. If they can get him to stop eating his palm grip crayons and put them to paper I will think they are miracle workers! read more

I have 2 kids who both attend Shenker Academy and they both LOVE it!!! My daughter had gone to previous schools prior to attending Shenker and we just weren't satisfy with the care that she was receiving. That all changed when she started Shenker. The administration and teachers there have been absolutely amazing with both kids. They both have a lot of fun at school and have learned so much. I would recommend Shenker to any parent looking for a wonderful Preschool for their child. read more
