The jewelry was advertised as 14k, and I purchased two pieces along with my piercings, spending close to $250 total. About a week later, I noticed the bar of my piercing was silver and not gold. I messaged the business on Instagram because I was confused, and they apologized for not being clear and stated the gold bar was a custom order. I understand that I could have asked more questions, and if it's standard in the piercing industry for only certain parts of a piece to be gold, then I can own that. However, I also feel that if you market yourself as selling 14k gold pieces, you should be VERY clear about exactly what you're getting. Nowhere was it explained to me that I would be receiving titanium jewelry with only the stop being gold. I assumed I was purchasing an actual gold piece. The piercing experience itself wasn't bad, and I do appreciate that they apologized, but there was no attempt to correct the misunderstanding or offer any kind of solution--not even something like a discount toward ordering the actual gold piece I thought I was getting. It just really sucks spending that much money because you specifically want gold jewelry and then finding out afterward that what you purchased wasn't what you thought it was.
