I read some online reviews and decided to give this a try. Frankly, it was okay at best. In my opinion, one thing most establishments have in common as it relates to service in Helsinki is that they really just don't care. A few times, my travel buddy and I questioned why these establishments deserve our patronage. Prior to visiting, we'd called to see if they accepted walk-ins and we were told to come down and that the kitchen closed at 930pm on Saturday. We were okay with that and showed up early enough. Upon arrival, we met the rudest hostess that I've encountered at a restaurant. She was flat out unapologetic and dismissive. She said they were fully booked and that we had been misinformed and couldn't be accommodated. On our way out we asked a different employeee if the terrace had any availability and she said we could look around and that it was on a first come first served basis, we were shocked that the rude hostess hadn't mentioned this. Luckily we found seats. Our area was covered by a waitress that honestly was overworked. Not only was she our waiter, she also acted as the main bartender for standing orders, had to fill other waiters' drink orders, she was also the busgirl. The 2 stars are actually for her. We felt sorry for her as we could tell it isn't just humanly possible to provide regular service in that condition let alone expect anything above and beyond from her. Poor girl indeed. With all that said, she was still very pleasant. There were other waitresses whom we flagged down to see if they could assist us and they just told us it wasn't their coverage area and kept it moving. This was a first for us as we've dined globally and never encountered this lack of team effort.
The food - It was just meh. We'd read some online reviews that talked the restaurant up but frankly we were underwhelmed. We ordered the burger and pork neck as our mains. There wasn't really anything spectacular about either dish. The flat bread that came with the pork neck was fresh and really good and so was the accompanying coleslaw, it was unique. The BBQ pork seemed reheated or microwaved, it wasn't fresh nor great. We were really disappointed because of the hype that convinced us to check it out in the first place. For what it's worth, the restaurant attracts a decent crowd and it seems like a cool place to hang out for a few drinks, other than that I'd skip it. read more
