Fairly small, informal but elegant, ostensibly French but barely, place with very friendly service and great food. We booked it on Quandoo and were not disappointed. Of note.
It's got a French name and they serve snails, steak tartare, entrecote, and tarte tatin, but it's not particularly French. That said, the food is great, so it may not matter but check the menu, don't just buy in on the name. (BTW, I noticed this in general in Helsinki French restaurants; almost none had anything resembling a traditional French menu.)
You can dine here a la carte -- where the menu is pretty narrow so check it before coming -- or order a 3- or 4-course menu. Unlike some restaurants, the whole table doesn't have to go one way or the other. My wife went a la carte with the snails and entrecote. I went for the 4-course with steak tartare, asparagus soup, whitefish, and a dessert.
The food was consistent very good with the artichoke soup, the steak, and the whitefish in the very, very good category.
Overall, I'd come again any time. Nice selection of wines by the glass. Located in a nice and bustling area. read more
