The Sunset at Spencer Chevron /Terrible's…read more This is a small and cramped Chevron and Terrible's convenience store. It only has two fuel islands holding eight pumps. It is also off a major highway in the center of the valley where there is a long distance gap between gas stations. If you are driving westbound on Sunset Road, this is the last chance to fuel up for 3.3 miles until you reach the Chevron /Terrible's on Sunset and Valley View. If you are driving eastbound, it is over a mile to the Arco and 7-Eleven/ Sinclair at Sunset and Pecos. The ramifications of the cramped space and distance between fuel stations is that this station can be uncomfortably crowded. Because this gas station is convenient to me and not really by choice, I have stopped here a few times. And let me tell you that it is busy. The last time I was there, I had to wait for a while for an available pump. While waiting, I did get slightly concerned that a car can brush my car because it is so cramped and busy. Additionally parking is also tight. With the limited space there is a want for a car wash. Adding to the cramped situation is that it is a choir to return to westbound Sunset Road. To exit onto Spencer Street where a traffic signal controls traffic at Sunset Road, you have to turn right and then turn around. Being that I am writing this on March 31, 2022; the gas is $$$. The Terrible's convenience store is not the most attractive to put it nicely. But they come through when I want a beer and a snack for later. The day after writing my original review, I am adding this paragraph in as a review edit based on today's experience. With my rent due by the fourth, I stopped here on Friday, April 1 around 3:30 pm to purchase a Moneygram Money Order. The clerk tells me that they do not do money orders after 2 o' clock because that is when the Manager leaves. Apparently they have this asenine policy where in a 24 hour city, you cannot buy a money order after 2 o' clock because the boss is off. I would like to write that this is an April Fools joke. Unfortunately it isn't. Here is a second edit which is this paragraph. Today I returned around 10:30 to pick up a money order. The clerk working this morning alleged that the money orders were down. By the way, the money orders were down around a month ago when I attempted to buy one. Being that this is the closest gas station to me, I brought $15 worth of gas. Just like a month ago pump #6 only has 91 octane gas. This is definitely not my favorite Chevron/ Terrible's. However, with a limited number of gas stations in my neighborhood, there is the inevitable likelihood of return trips. This is one of the times where it is all about location, location, and location.

Due to working a lot of hours lately I have been off the Yelp review grid for close to two weeks…read more To get back onto the grid, this review will metaphorically refuel my writing skills. So, I will take a short cut by reviewing the Green Valley Parkway at Sunset Road Terribles/Chevron. Speaking of grid, this business is off the Henderson street grid just south of where the city merges with the unincorporated town of Whitney. Speaking of shortcuts, it is common to see motorists blow through the parking lot to avoid waiting at the traffic light above Green Valley at Sunset. This is the closest gas station and convenience store to where I have lived the last twelve years. As a result I have stopped here many times over to fuel up the five cars in twelve years that I have leased. The Chevron gas here is neither the least or most expensive. I believe the prices are the same as the Terrible's Chevron a block to the west at Sunset and Annie Oakley. What I like about fueling up here besides the convenience is that there is plenty of room to maneuver the vehicle and it is easy to get in and out of. For example if I am on Green Valley Parkway northbound headed toward Patrick Street, I can turn left onto Sunset Road with a protected green arrow then return to Green Valley via a traffic signal from the adjacent shopping center. This Terribles/Chevron is more than fueling up my car. It is fueling up my nighttime beverage of choice which is a bullet beer. Again, this is the most convenient convenience store near my house. The beer prices are competitive. Here are two examples using my beer of choice. 1. A 32 ounce Miller High Life beer is $2. This is 50 cents less than Walmart. 2. They sell two 24 ounce Bud Ice beers for $2.50. At Walmart a 24 ounce Bud Ice is & 1.75. Being that this is close to my residence, I sometimes stop here to use the ATM. With the ATM being inside, I am confident that nobody has skimmed it or waiting to rob me. The charges to use the machine are the norm. My two complaints about this Terrible's/ Chevron is that there is often one cashier. This causes a line. Waiting in line defeats convenience. My second complaint is that they frequently run out of the 24 ounce Bud Ice. This may not be the best Terrible's/ Chevron around, but it is my Terrible's /Chevron. For over twelve years it has served as the closest fuel station and convenience store to my residence. With that said, I shall return to the Green Valley at Sunset Terribles/Chevron. And to writing reviews :-)

What brought me to write this review, was from my review experience with Arco (across the street-…read moredate 4-6-26). I was on my way home from helping my dad on a rental, and gut feeling told me to go to Chevron/Terrible's for the fountain drink, but I was already 2 lanes over, and thought I'll just go to Arco. Well guess what, long story short I should have just followed my gut feeling. Arco doors were both locked, lights off, no sign on the door, Nada! So I got in my car and went back across the street to Chevron. Now I love Chevron, gas is a little higher, yes, BUT I always have had Excellent experience coming in be every clerk, and I was greeted by a man at the register and a woman who was stocking, greeted me with a smile. Store was clean, I wasn't expecting to get a snack but I did, along with my drink. So please if Corporate see this please acknowledge the I think it was a Philippeno woman and a white gentleman about 5'6 with light brown hair on 4/6/2026 around 6-6:45 pm, because staff here have always been friendly (actually at every Terrible's I have been to Gas station/corner store). Esright now with this economy please appreciate your team members for there work. I have gone to other stations and a Store clerk came and checked on me because I guess I looked like I wasn't okay (which is was, is was just on the phone), but your team always goes above and beyond for their customers. Thank you so much.
