My name is Daniel. S. Pertaining to this review the "S" stands for "saving at the gas pump." When you pump gas at the Pecos Mart branded Sinclair, you save as much as 16 cents at the pump.
Regardless that I have driven by the Pecos Mart for years, there had been very few fill ups at its Sinclair. Recently during an Era of inflated gas prices and shortages, this Sinclair has been beneficial. Prior to this summer, I had been a regular at the Sunset at Green Valley and Sunset at Annie Oakley Chevron Terrible Herbst stations. However, they had been out of their 87 and 89 octane fuel and close to running out of their premium grade.
As it turns out, the price per gallon at Sinclair has been 16 cents less expensive than the nearby Chevrons. For example where the price is $3.99 here, it will be $4.15 at Chevron. When you take into consideration that when Chevron runs out of the 87 and 89 octane gas, the price difference is more substantial. Speaking of substantial, Sinclair has a substantial history that dates back to 1916. It is a history that gives me confidence that I am feeding my car healthy fuel.
Instead of handrawn "out of order" signs taped on gas pumps greeting me, here it is an adorable green dinosaur. I am big on mascots and imagination. In my opinion Dino the Dinosaur (not the Flintstones) is the cutest gasoline mascot. Many share the same opinion because I read on the Sinclair website that he is the most huggable mascot. The backstory of Dino is that fuel comes from the dinosaurs beneath the earth, and hence the dinosaur mascot. His image is embraced on the graffiti free fuel pumps and exterior of Pecos Mart and the car wash. However, Dino's image is not portrayed inside the Pecos Mart. Unlike the Boulder City location that is more Dino themed, there is no Dino Mart.
Pecos Mart is a unique convenience store given the fact that it is not a chain. It is so independent that they serve items in a plain plastic bag instead of one with a logo like Terrible Herbst, Green Valley Grocery, or Pit Stop. It is a clean store that sells all of the convenience store staples. They serve Boyd Coffee and additionally feature the Philly Cheesesteak restaurant. Prices are competitive. Especially for beer.
This review summarized why I bestow Pecos Mart/ Sinclair with four stars. In a time of fuel supply uncertainty and rising gas prices, they have provided my vehicle with reputable discounted gasoline in a cheerful environment starring an adorable green dinosaur. Subsequently the convenience store is a convenient spot to pick up inexpensive beer and sometimes a sub from the Philly Cheesesteak restaurant. read more
