Lots of pumps, pay at the pump, all the expected niceties; windshield scrubbie, paper towels, garbage cans. Nice clean restrooms, but at 1:30 in the morning, I'm not horribly fussy. :D Friendly staff. Gas prices are good, but the Esso seems to undercut them by 1/2 a cent. Which is good, because apart from the liquor store and the saloon, it's about all there is! But really, what more could you need? It's got a real traditional old west feel to it, but manages to do so in a way that isn't overly cheesy. It's just a bit of authentic western charm to spruce of the experience. This place has all the typical items you'd expect to find at a gas station convenient store, but really embraces it's small town-ness with some local goods, decorations and even local baked cookies. It's a nice stop off on a summer's cruise and a great place to grab an ice cream cone while you take a walk around in the sunshine.
Come here for.... the ice-cream!!…read more Normally in a small town you pass the general store and if I see 'ice-cream' listed as one of the selling points on a sign, I assume that they have a freezer with packaged ice-creams in it. Luckily, when visiting the Fallen Timber Meadery someone had mentioned this as a great stop for ice-cream. This is a big store and so you can also get packaged ice-creams if you so choose (and some local gifts like infused olive oils etc from memory) but by the counter there is a freezer of buckets of ice cream! There was probably about eight flavours and I highly recommend the raspberry cheesecake. Big chunks of raspberry and mighty delicious with generous scoops in either a cone or cup. One scoop was $4.50 and two scoops was $6.25 (ish). The sea salt caramel was also super tasty. Highly recommended for dessert after a brunch/lunch at the saloon a few doors down and either pre or post meadery.

These guys are not typical towing company! They actually…read morehave some compassion and empathy! Yes you read me correct ,a towing company that can and will work with you to get your vehicle back , and not against you so that they can profit off of your misfortune, like far to many other towing companies out there. The guy that came to get my SUV was nice and I could tell he did truly feel bad for my situation, but had a job to do all the same .We joked about My Ford Escape having to be boosted every time I wanted to start the thing ! It was a welcome attitude and smile after what I had just deal with ! Knowing it would be atleast a week until I got paid and could even consider getting my SUV out of towing jail . So when I did call the office to see how much I would have to pay to get my only running vehicle out of impound , there were tears rolling down my face . I have had this situation before and no fault of mine but it still cost me in the end and I lost a good car because of it ! But Darcy and the driver ( sorry forgot his name) worked with me so I was able to affordability get my SUV back ! This would not have been the case with at least one other local towing company out of Didsbury !! Yes I understand this is a business and they are not running charity, and I do know (was married to the fleet mechanic of one of the largest towing company in BC back in the day) first hand that the job these guys do is most times a dirty one ! Tell me honestly more often than not, your not happy to have to call a tow truck as it always means something has gone wrong and that means $$$ Or the other end where the police are involved and they have it impounded from anywhere 24 hrs to 30days ! The drivers put their lives on the line almost daily with most calls, and never know what will be at the other end of the call out when they get to them ! Anyway you look at it, A) It's a dirty job someone has to do B) Try being respect before you start swearing , sometimes it makes things go much smoother for yourself and the company . Thank you again for your understanding and good service!

Good and Bad. The good is that we have our '85 Chevy motorhome back 'mostly' working; however,…read morewhen you take a vehicle in with a couple of things thought critical and one can not be repaired, you are hit with a bit of frustration. The bad - the excessive cost of repairs, the incomplete jobs and the delay in getting our vehicle back and unable to test it all out with a weekend for a mountain getaway. Winter/Spring camping is not new us but the '85 Chevy was. We budgeted a couple of thousand for possible repairs which included a speedometer not working and the heater only blowing cold air. The heater turned out to be the worst case scenario with the heating core being toast. The speedometer was diagnosed at a cost of $70 as something Hildebrand could not repair. The vehicle was delivered to Hildebrand on a Thursday. The next day they provided the first estimate of just over $2000 for repairs I approved. It was to be ready the following Wednesday. From Monday through Wednesday, I had daily calls with additional repairs recommended. I approved the operationally critical ones and the end bill tallied up. On the Wednesday call, they indicated they were still awaiting the heater core which may be received that aft and may allow completion later that aft. I provided instructions for follow-up. After I indicated displeasure with the service and excessive pricing, further update calls ceased. I made several calls to receive the status. The delay of competed service ended up late Friday aft. , 8 days after our initial delivery of the van. We felt hostage to the business during the time they had it apart and were waiting for something every day. Soon after picking our motorhome up for the drive home, I noted the dash signal light indicators to not be working. They had prior to the repairs being ordered. The front and rear exterior turn light signals were okay. At least there was heat on a cooler Alberta spring day. ... No time to take the motorhome back to get dash lights fixed. The shop was set to close and I was concerned they may need much more time to take the dash apart again and I wished to have a longer road trip to test out any other ailments. Besides - living at a rural location, does not make it convenient to 'just' pop in for some adjustment on some negligent work done. Also, it is a motorhome - not entirely economical on gas for this drive back to the shop. Overall - Not good. ... A two star rating ... something I thought I would never rate a business as.
