At the onset, it's just another mountain town gas station, but that soon goes away as you enter the store. It is impeccably clean and inviting. They have a selection of items you'd expect. What comes next is that trip to the restroom. They are all gender neutral and AMAZING! They are clean and they smell nice. The toilets are next level. Complete with heated seats and bidets, you might just sit there longer than normal. There will ALWAYS be a stop at the Co-Op in Banff when I visit!

Soooooo tasty, not greasy, perfectly seasoned. My only beef with this place, and it is a fixable one, is the rye toast we ordered was SWIMMING in butter/margarine. I ACTUALLY, no really, I ACTUALLY rung out my toast and it dripped with butter. So, next time I am going to order butter on the side, because the marble rye toast was vary tasty under all the butter.

It's got a real traditional old west feel to it, but manages to do so in a way that isn't overly cheesy. It's just a bit of authentic western charm to spruce of the experience. This place has all the typical items you'd expect to find at a gas station convenient store, but really embraces it's small town-ness with some local goods, decorations and even local baked cookies. Luckily, when visiting the Fallen Timber Meadery someone had mentioned this as a great stop for ice-cream. This is a big store and so you can also get packaged ice-creams if you so choose (and some local gifts like infused olive oils etc from memory) but by the counter there is a freezer of buckets of ice cream! There was probably about eight flavours and I highly recommend the raspberry cheesecake. Big chunks of raspberry and mighty delicious with generous scoops in either a cone or cup. One scoop was $4.50 and two scoops was $6.25 (ish). The sea salt caramel was also super tasty. Highly recommended for dessert after a brunch/lunch at the saloon a few doors down and either pre or post meadery.

However, this morning I went there, arriving at 2:05 AM to pick up a couple of things before I went home to bed. I live very close by, so it was a convenient stop. What was decidedly inconvenient, however, was the fact that the gentleman that was "Working" was nowhere to be found. I knocked on the glass with my cell phone, after waiting for five minutes. Over the next 10 minutes I proceeded to kick and wrap on the windows, though not hard enough to cause any damage. The sound would have been quite loud inside the building. After 15 minutes had passed, the worker came out and apologized because he said he was in the cooler. Firstly, my headlights were shining right into the cooler and he was not in there. Secondly, he would have heard me and seen me had he been in the cooler. So, I can only conclude that he was taking a nap. I get it. I need sleep too. The difference is, that I sleep on my own time. While I was there waiting, another young lady came by and expressed that this has happened to her before. She left without waiting for the store to open. If you are the proprietor of this location, I would suggest that it would be in your best interest to seek a different employee he does not feel entitled to sleep during his shift.

I was splitting the purchase between 2 bank cards, so the first 100$ was approved no prob, however the remainder was declined because of I had reached my daily spending limit in that card. I asked if he would suspend the transaction while I called my bank. He agreed and gave me two receipts to show that it was cancelled and explained that we would start over again. So when I went back In yet again the second transaction was declined, now I was confused because I had just had my spending limit increased!!?? So I called my bank while standing at the counter and the agent & I were trying to figure out what the problem was. After a few minutes I asked if he would put the second half through again, because the agent and I thought we figured it out and it would go through. BUT IT WAS NOT ALLOWED!!!!! The shell station cashier out of the blue had decided the for "security reasons" I could no longer make my purchase with two cards!!!! He proceeded to give me two receipts that showed there were no charges on any transactions. This all happened while I was on the phone with the bank aswell!! So I walked out still on the phone and left with no pre paid visa, thinking that the guy was an asshole!! Well I got home and unpacked, started to make dinner and my husband came out from the office and said there are two 100$ purchases the shell we just came from. That's when I really started to see red!!!! So not only is the guy an asshole but he also a thief!!! UNREAL!!! My brother was in charge of store training at the corporate level in Husky and I gotta say that this is not considered acceptable treatment of a customer!!!! I will never give them my business again! There is now an investigation of the event and we are still out 200$ for a pre paid visa we didn't even get!!!! BRUTAL!!!!!
