ABSOLUTE SCAM & ILLEGAL BILLING -- REPORTING TO AUTHORITIES ​Do not spend a single dollar at this location unless you want your money stolen and your safety threatened by aggressive staff. ​While waiting in line, I watched the cashier refuse to honor a clear $2 discount for the customer in front of me. When it was my turn, he tried the exact same scam on me. I have been a loyal Shell Rewards member for years. I scanned my official Shell app for my standard fuel discount, and the cashier deliberately kept pressing "ABORT" on the register screen to cancel the discount while attempting to charge me full price. When I showed him my phone with my account and name clearly displayed, he refused to honor it and kept hitting abort so the store could pocket the difference. ​This isn't just bad customer service--it is flat-out illegal under California state law: ​Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 12024.2 (Price Verification Law): It is illegal to charge an amount greater than the advertised, displayed, or promotional price at the time of sale. ​Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 17200 (Unfair Competition Law): Engaging in deceptive, fraudulent, and unlawful business practices to cheat consumers out of valid promotions. ​Cal. Civ. Code § 1770 (Consumer Legal Remedies Act): Deceptive practices, including misrepresenting discounts and pricing at the point of sale. ​When I caught him in the act, I demanded my money back and walked out. Instead of stopping there, this employee followed me outside into the parking lot to physically intimidate me after I called out his fraud (Cal. Civ. Code § 51.7 - Right to be free from intimidation and threats). ​This cashier is an outright thief operating a systematic scam at the register. Stealing discounts from customers in broad daylight and following them outside is a massive liability. It's been a long time was in the area needed a few things stopped in here. Terrible customer service. This is the Shell on Broadway in Sonoma. They also run a repair shop, same business there was nobody in the store. But the young girl with glasses at the register was more interested in continuing her stupid conversation about Taco Bell and guacamole then helping ring me up so I can be on my way. I was in a hurry. I had to cut her off and she still kept her stupid conversation going with the other employee that work there. I'm not coming back here again. read more

I've never in a million years thought I would have a reason to write a review About gas station. Well today I got treated horribly by the "manager" who tried to tell me the reason the pump was not working was because I had put the nozzle back on the pump after I started pumping, which somehow indicated to the pump the transaction was over, but in fact I had not even begun pumping gas because it wouldn't let me, as clearly there was someone else's transaction still showing on the display ($10.82). I explained I hadn't pumped any gas and he kept arguing with me telling me stop talking and let him explain how the pumps work. ... at which point I said can you just help me get my gas. He then asked me to come back inside with him and discovered there was no transaction in the register. The cash register attendant had not properly done the transaction or there was a technical glitch and it cancelled out, not sure which and don't care. He said to me at that point, while I was standing at the front of the line of two Other people who had walked in behind me, "you'll have to go to the back of the line mama", "if you want to pay again for your gas". Um... at this point I said "are you f-ing kidding me?". Then he proceeded to tell me leave and that I could not get gas there. On any other I would have been irate but this just made me cry! I told Him he could call the police if he wanted me to leave. I knew I had no gas I like floated down Broadway on fumes and had been running behind all day and this stop for gas was seriously close to me running out. So I had to leave? Wt? Anyway, my car literally died twice with the next five mins. But I did make It around the corner to the 76 station! I hope this arrogant person finds a way to relieve his stress and stops condescending customers. read more

The first time ... after using a card to purchase gas, within minutes I received a notification from my bank stating a second purchase was declined due to an inaccurate password. I wrote it off as random, since I have been a loyal customer since 1970 and had never experienced this. A month or so later, it happened again. Ummmm ... that's not random. Three times I attempted to contact the manager to no avail. Even left my phone number and requested a call back from the manager that was never received. When it happened the third time I called the police to let them know what was transpiring. Not only did that fall on deaf ears, I was told the police get their gas from this location all the time and have never had this happen to them. Well, I imagine since it had "never happened to them" that translated into "it must not have happened to me". It happened. I don't do business there anymore. It's one of the major brands of gasoline so you have the corresponding high gas prices. It is actually the cheapest gas in the town of Sonoma. The window cleaning stations are always full of cleaner and the squeegees are in great condition. There's a small mini store on site. You feel safe and sound at this location even at night. read more
