Last I checked convenience stores were supposed to be convenient. Scenario: on a walk, very hot. There are three ice teas dispensers, all empty. I asked if there was going to be any more ice tea made and was met with a cocky reply from an employee who had plenty of time to shoot the shit with a customer in front of me while I stood there panting from the heat. Apparently, the person on last nights shift did not make it. It was 2:30 pm now. One might suspect on a hot, sunny day customers might have simply sold it out but I guess it's best to point fingers at the night shift crew despite the fact that it's practically a day later at this point. How do I know this? Because the two people behind the counter decided to throw their absent teammate under the bus rather than taking any personal responsibility for replenishing. Said Customer was giving me apologizing eyes & mouthed 'I'm so sorry.' No worries. I waited patiently and instead of offering to actually make the iced tea, I was treated to a full on lecture on how the cup I filled with water since I had no choice of beverage at that point which I offered to pay for, had a 'story' behind it. Truly I just wanted fluid at this point, but by all means, regale me. I was thinking it would probably be a bit of a reduced rate since there was no iced tea, but nope they charged me full rate for a cup of tap water?!? I frequent this convenience store daily. The team is usually friendly, prompt and kind. However with this lazy 'mansplainer' on the register, I will not be returning anytime soon. I appreciate greatly how he took the time to discuss the basic economics of plasticware rather that freaking MAKING the iced tea? Resisting the urge instead to say .. hmm, how about stepping out from behind the counter and doing your job, as you could've made the iced tea by now if you refrained from extolling the considerable and extensive knowledge you are heck bent on sharing with a panting, sweating, human who just clearly wants an iced tea & actually served your customers? I decided to leave a review indicative of the experience here. Moral of the story, if you want to learn about football teams in Vegas, economics of plastic cups, credit card chips, and other pieces of knowledge that have absolutely no relevance to anything you come into a convenience store for, this is the place! If however, you're wanting an ice tea, I would suggest you go down the street to AJ's where you're greeted with a smile, 10 different varieties of tea and the nicest team in town. read more

I've been going to this gas station for more than 10 years and I can confidently say this place feels like home. Always calm and quiet area, not to mention the Superpumper attendees are the most kind and genuine people (never cease to make me smile- or get a laugh out of me)!! Early mornings and evenings here are very quiet, with most of the customers being local residents. I've seen a lot of high-end cars (Porsche, Mercedes, Rolls-Royce) here during those hours. From mid morning to mid-afternoon, the crowd is mostly day laborers. Try to avoid this place when kids from a nearby school are in there. I'm a big fan of the staff; very friendly and helpful. This gas station has gigantic lanes, which is weird because it 's located in the heart of a North Scottsdale residential area. There's not a lot of semi-truck traffic here, but it looks like it could easily accommodate them. The price of gas is slightly higher than other gas stations in the area. There's a convenience store located on premises. Since it's sunk down a little below street level, I oftentimes forget it's here....so I rarely frequent this place. I'm normally not a big Shell fan and would take a QuikTrip any day, but this is the closet gas station to our home and work. Whenever we need gas it isn't when we are near the QuikTrip or any other cheaper priced gas station, it's always when we are right by this Shell. Luckily it's rather convenient to get in and out of, but the prices are always more expensive than the other gas stations around. I guess paying an arm and a leg ain't too bad, right? Otherwise, it's not too shabby. However, I must comment on their air filling stations. One time my husband had to fill up our tires and there was only one employee working. The employee got the air to go and halfway through the air stopped. My husband went back inside and had to get them to turn it on again. Well, it didn't turn on. He went back in and they turned it on. Well, it didn't turn on - again. So he waited until the people next to him finished and he had to use their working air pump. Not sure what happened necessarily, but definitely be aware of the air machine! read more

Shell is the one brand that I continue to come back to regularly. This location is convenient to the Library and the stores over on FLW. I find that I've started to price shop and Shell is still one of the places the does well. If you live in the NoSoo area the only competitor is Circle K. read more

This gas station was clean and efficiently run. The employees were kind and the snack selection was good. There were some cool chips that I like. They're "Tostitos Salsa Verde: ¡Prepáralos a tu Gusto!" I would definitely recommend this gas station if you need gas. read more

Shell stations in Scottsdale, ESPECIALLY this one, are plain and simple, a complete rip-off. I assume they are all the same franchise owner. Thanks, but no thanks. I'd rather run out of gas and have to call AAA to gimme a gallon than buy from this place. read more

The price of gas at this Shell location is on average .25 cents higher than anywhere else in the valley, .30 cents more than nearby Costco. I believe there are two reasons behind it, one ostensibly more plausible than the other. 1.) Its proximity to DC Ranch where there are few gas stations and lots of Bentley's, Range Rovers, and Benz's routinely driving past. This caused the owners to take note, hold out their greedy palm and demand Scottsdale's elite 'give back'. 2.) When Googling "Why are gas prices so high?" you're redirected to Wikipedia...to the term Doggie Style where unfortunately it states 'the origin of the term is unknown'. This is because the people at Wiki don't drive cars that runs on fossil fuel. If they did, there would be a blurb somewhere in the definition about oil companies, gas stations, and their direct relationship to both the term doggy style and the American public. I only go here for Hostess Pink Snowballs, since it's the only convenience store in the area. Nice job Shell for taking advantage in a difficult economy! read more

I came in to buy a 6-pack of beer and was wearing a Black Lives Matter t-shirt. When I tried to make my purchase, I berated by the attendant about the election results. He insisted "they got caught cheating" over and over again. I just kept repeating, "Whatever you say, friend." Which prompted him to keep coming at me about it, started slamming beers around. Inappropriate and unprofessional. I didn't catch his name, but he was a bald, white man. Probably mid-50s. This was a super unpleasant experience. I won't be back here. read more

I've been really disappointed with the Shell stations in Scottsdale. This is the location near my home and I would say 60% of the time, the majority of the pumps are out of order - sometimes with bags over them, sometimes they just give you an error. A different shell a couple miles away has the same issues and its automatic car wash did not work. read more

Nice and clean, but way overpriced (along with all of the SuperPumper Shell stations in the area. Go to Fry's or Valero on 90th St north of Via Linda or to Costco on Hayden for normal gas prices that are $0.15 to $0.40 cheaper depending on what's going on with gas prices at the time.
