Quite a shady location.. I usually come to this location to get quick $10 car washes. Having a black car, man it attracts a lot of dust. - Liquor store itself is dim and small. Staff always seem to look out of it, I don't blame them.. - Car Wash : the machine outside usually breaks down so you have to step foot into the store to grab a ticket for the car wash. This particular location is actually a little shady. It is right across the street from a busy shopping center (The Plant), so it is conveniently located, but probably not the safest in comparison. If your low fuel indicator light comes on, I'd try my best to go elsewhere. The only reason I still come here is because son's basketball league takes place right around the corner. This criticism has solely to do with customer service yet not in sales. I walked past this station last night in the wee hours. Next door between Burger King and the shoe store a water pipe had bursted and was shooting up water 20 feet in the air. A few cars were driving by but I didn't see any authorities. I walked up to the Shell as it was right next door and at the open window to ask the employee to call the police, at least....I didn't know who else to call in the middle of the night. I showed him my phone and that it was on 0% charge (otherwise I would have not asked him and I wouldn't even feel the need to write this now as I would have sorted it out). He asked me three times where this was happening....I said....Right next door at the Burger King; there's water spewing everywhere. He thought, I'm sure, that I was just some crazy lady. I said listen 'all I'm asking IF YOU COULD BE A GOOD STEWARD and call the authorities on this matter. And he absolutely refused. Screw this employee. Pouring rain. My debit card wasnt being read. So I had to go inside. The gentleman in front of me was having the same issue as me. I guess the system was down. So the register clerk had to go out with the customer to check out the pump station. I figured they would be out there a while. There was a couple who paid for gas and the employee put it on wrong pump and would not refund her. Another customer pumped their gas. I walked out without buying anything! I would rather run out of gas than support a company who does this to people. The workers should be ashamed of themselves. This area is not so good so the employees better be careful treating people like this. This could have ended differently and could have put everyone in danger. We bought the ultimate was and after the soap was rinsed off the whole thing just turned off. No lights nothing and in the end we drove out with a wet half way washed car. NO DRYING. This is !@#$ difficult to reach. It's on a busy corner of Monterey and Tully Roads, across from The Plant Shopping Center. Had I seen it early enough, on my way to The Plant, I'd have pulled into it. As I hesitated, the lane beside me was quickly filled and I had no way over there. After shopping, I returned, but it still wasn't easy. The price of the diesel fuel was $3.099, which is quite good when you consider some are charging over $3.50 now, and the majority are charging around $3.25. Naturally, the receipt paper had run out, so I went into the store to get the receipt. I looked for a soda, but they wanted $1.99 for a 20 ounce soda, and didn't have most others marked. When I asked for the receipt, I included the pump number, so then, she asked for the price. I didn't exactly remember, but wouldn't it be the latest on the pump? Thank goodness for this Shell, for without it, I would have no gas and would have been stuck on the road. This is a nice shell, large area, you're not squished up against other cars that are passing by and the filling stations are far apart enough that you can definitely sit in the same lane as a huge truck and still not have to drag your pump over. The worst customer service I bought a $9 car wash. Car wash just gave my car just water and the green light showed in from to exit. No soap, no brushing and no drying at all. Went inside and told the whole story. They didn't believed me at all. They told me bring my receipt. I had to go through the garage to find my wet receipt. The highlight of my experience at the pump was the lowest price in the area for Top Tier premium V-Power gasoline. Tried to pay at the pump and got an error message. ...had to go inside to authorize and get a final receipt...not so good. One of the 2 squeegees in my area was missing the soapy foam portion to wash windows...the other squeegee was too big for the container...making a soapy squeegee a challenge. It's a gas station. As far as they go this one isn't too bad. It is well-lit and clean with an okay car wash. Unfortunately Shell installed those blaring television boxes at the pumps which blast annoying commercials at you when you are still half asleep in the morning or after a long and hard day. The car wash is all right but a bit expensive for what you get. You will need to go inside and ask for the code to operate the air and water. read more

They're kinda unreliable for gas believe it or not. There have been many occasions where I have come here to fill up and they tell me that they do no accept card because the system is down. I'd understand once or twice but it happens pretty frequently. This location waters down their soap in the car wash so much, that you can't even tell that any soap was used. It looked like nothing but water was sprayed on my car. I never really feel the need to check in at or review gas stations, but too many consistently negative experiences here have really compelled me to speak up. It's so weird because as someone native to this area in many respects, I have no problem with the other three corners of the intersection where this Shell sits. Oak Hill? Quiet. The Plant? Has it's own issues but those are mostly related to the people who drive and park there (including myself on a tense day). The furniture store that always looks closed? Who's it really hurting? Then we have Shell - where the dark clouds settle. I consider myself lucky to be able to count the number of times I've been approached in an unwelcome manner at other gas stations on only one hand; at this Shell, though, there has lit-er-al-ly never been a visit where I haven't been solicited for spare change, asked if I needed my windshield wiped, or just straight up yelled at. Always closed on the inside but yet the employees and security guard are inside the store. This has happened multiple times. This is a terrible business, mostly because the girls at the register seem to be unaware of what excellent customer service means. They remind me of that commercial with the waitress who wipes the inside of a piece of bread off on a patron's table upon his reminder that he didn't want mayonnaise on his sandwich. I come to this gas station 3-4 times a week. I pumped gas , I buy water, lottery tickets, coffee n every time I go to use the restroom it's blocked. "It's either out of order" or "the clerks tell me they don't know where the keys are. " I'm a professional who occasionally need to use the restroom when I am there spending money. The clerk do not allow customers to use the restrooms . Why is that ? They have a taqueria in a gas station and no restroom ? This is total unacceptable . Today I attempted to spend my life's savings on a tank of gasoline at this local Shell station. When the pump refused to take my bank card as a credit card, where it had two weeks ago when it refused to accept it as a debit card, I went inside. I am a legally handicapped person with legally displayed license plates on my vehicle. I have great difficulty walking and wear leg braces, and walk with a cane when needed. There were three cashiers behind the counter, one of them (who I later found out is named Tony) said to me "We don't help the handicapped, there is a sign over there." OK, so now I am pissed off and say "Can I buy gas?" and tossed my card on the counter, she asked for an amount I said I wanted a fill up, she said, "No I need an amount." So , I asked for 75.00 (woulda been much more if I could use the card). I picked up my card, went to the car, tried to pump gas and it would not work. I pushed the help me button, after several minutes the same girl came on the speaker and told me "If you were respectful you could have gas." I told he I didn't need to be respectful as a condition to be assisted, since handicap assistance is the law. I called Shell Corp, who says this station is an independant and therefore they have no say in what they do, but they would take my complaint. What recourse do I have, other than buying gas elsewhere? And since when does a sign allow a gas station to disobey the law? read more

Cars parked in every direction to pump gas so it makes for difficulty pulling in or out. People coming up and haggling you for some change.
