I decided to stop by and parked my car between the narrow gas pumps. I walked in and the first thing that caught my attention was how clean, organized, and well stocked the store was. They had a variety of snacks, drinks, bottles of wine, alcohol, and other items. I went to the gummy section and there was was so much variety. I found these hard to find and popular Trollie Peachie O's! I browsed the drinks and went for a peach tea. I headed to the self-serve drinks area and to my surprise the ICEE machine was running so I ran to grab a cup of the Blue Raspberry ICEE (literately jumping for joy inside and preparing for the brain freeze to hit)! Most places are serving you the drinks they offer (coffee, frozen drinks, soda, etc) and are not self-serve due to COVID-19. I filled my cup and looked for the cap which I could not find. I walked up to the register and the cashier provided me with the cap to my ICEE. The cashier was friendly and welcoming during my visit. Tip: Make sure your cap is on tight before you grab your drink. My cap blew off but my ICEE was safe! This is a legit gas station stop. A hidden gem! The type of gas station you want to stop at during a road trip. Apart from a great selection of snacks and drinks the gas is priced well for the area.

Couldn 't use the the card reader at the pumped - out of service. Went it and discovered I couldn't pay by either cash or credit card. Leaving what? Payment by gummy bears? The interior shop shelves were largely bare and the clerk was pissed off and pissy. Hopefully all this is a sign that the business will soon turn over to new owners. In the meantime - find another place to buy your gasoline! It's expensive enough without the grumpy attitude and extreme hassle here.

So at 790 El Camino Real, we find a modern Shell station, complete with foodmart and car wash. Based upon the past reviews, it looks like everyone should avoid the car wash. Nice spacious islands and well lit. Very spacious because no one was there at the time. Prices are a bit higher than average. But the station is near two major roads out of town.....Hwy 85 and Hwy 237. There's also a medical facility across the street. Tip: if you want your vehicle to look nice for a long time, never use a mechanical car wash.
