Gas. It does your car's engine good…read more When I drove through Lompoc, this gas station always seemed to be among the most inexpensive ones. Bonus info: Lompoc is a bit in the middle of nowhere, yet right at the old Highway 1. If you have time to spare and don't want to go up 101 - bleh! - or 5 - yawn! - from Los Angeles to the Bay Area, take the 1 and see a potentially new face of California. Oh, and the ocean, too. Just pray that the good people in front of you use the turnout stops along the road through Big Sur.

Don't know, don't care, none of my business. (second, and last, time) are at the top of his list of priorities. However, priorities should have a little bit of a switch while on the clock. Call me an old school buzzkill with a long tenure of customer service, but while at work, topping that priority list should be that person on the other side of your counter, aka, your customer. Your customer=Job Security. To some people, these things matter. Both events played out the same way: I'm there waiting at the counter for him to temporarily cease his social interactions and perform the meaningless task of doing his job. When I finally get the privilege of him taking my money and turning on the gas pump, those ninety seconds were divided with his continued focus and chatting among his socially personal distractions. Luckily for me, this location isn't within my normal routes and there's a perfectly good Valero on H street, also not in my normal routes. But I'll willingly endure H Street's many stoplights and unfounded traffic if I need to. That Valero seems to employ people who know where customer service priorities should be, and who will actually spend that ninety seconds to take my money and turn on the gas pump without making me feel like an imposition.

This is the closest gas station to my home. I would give this gas station 0 stars if I could…read more First, the prices are always MUCH higher here than any station in any nearby city such as Lompoc or Santa Maria. Then, the station is supposed to take my Vons gas reward points but doesn't. Also the card read never works for me. Finally and more importantly the customer service is horrendous. There is only one man who works there, and he is unbelievably rude. The last straw for me was this past Tuesday when I stopped for a few dollars of gas so I could go to town and fill up my car at a station that doesn't rob you blind. My last experience at this station (and I mean last because I will never return because I'd prefer to get towed to town rather than return), I arrived and of course the card reader didn't work. I went inside to pay and at the register I asked "Mr. Rude" I'd the card readers weren't working. He rolled his eyes and mumbled something, so I said "excuse me" asked him to repeat. He mumbled again, and once again I asked him to repeat. He rolled his eyes and just stared at me angrily. That's when I told him he needed to to improve his customer service and left. As I was leaving he was mumbling and cursing at me. Women, do not give your money to this chauvinistic, rude man. He is awful and threatening.

Now, the owner has a thick accent, which is perfectly fine. However, the man didn't understand him. The owner shouted at him several times, very rudely, and the man finally understood. He paid, and was obviously embarrassed and angry at his treatment. As the man was walking out, the owner said, "if you come to America learn english". I reminded the owner that he's also an immigrant, and maybe the man couldn't understand his accent. He ignored me. I will never, ever go back.
