Nothing in customer service surprises me anymore, as the quality of employees has gone down the drain but this was a first... I gave Kimberly a $100 bill to fill up my car. She took the bill and attempted to insert it into her safe (electronic insert device kind of like a soda machine). The device wouldn't accept the bill for some 'unknown reason'. Kimberly handed back the bill and stated 'If the safe won't take it, I can't take it'. I was refused service and had to leave since I didn't have my credit cards on me. This is the last time I'm ever stopping at this place to get gas. PS - I have never been refused service on a legal tender. Is this even legal? read more

This review is for the Shell gas station on the corner of Greenback and Auburn Blvd in Citrus Heights. The station has a large number of gas pumps with a large lot making for easy access. Due to the turn lanes at the intersection, you may have to make a U-Turn to access the station. Besides the normal regular, plus, and premium unleaded gasoline, this is one of the few stations in California that now sells hydrogen. Their new hydrogen dispensers have opened and support the latest zero emission cars in the region. I did not see any pumps selling diesel though. There is a small convenience store on site, but I do not think they have much besides soda and tobacco. This station does have a car wash. Prices are a bit premium, but they have various discounts and rewards. Overall the station is clean and convenient, and at the cutting edge of technology with hydrogen! read more

This particular Gas Station is located in Citrus Heights at the corner of Greenback & Auburn. There's 4 gas stations at this intersection and I prefer Shell or Chevron over AmPm or 7Eleven. I like this gas station because it has many pumps and it's not crowded. You're in and out in no time. Price wise it's 10-15 cents above AmPm and about 10 cents cheaper than Chevron. They also have a car wash, vacuum and air station. I recommend this gas station because it's clean and good location. I'll rate them at 5 stars! read more

Middle-aged dark haired woman working at this gas station today Aug 31, 2019 at 420 pm was gone for 20 minutes but had posted a sign that said "be back in 10 minutes". By the time she returned from her "10 minute" break several customers had gathered outside (a couple people gave up and left). Upon re-opening her demeanor was irritable, she scowled, did not greet anyone or apologize for the delay, nor did she bother to open the doors just gave an abrupt arm wave and yelled "it's open!" I asked for assistance with a pump, she said she could NOT help and again was very rude. Overall her mannerisms were so unpleasant that on principle alone we would not have stayed except we had a hydrogen-car and this is only station in the area with that type of fuel so we HAD to give our business here. Had it not been for the hydrogen requirement, I would have gone some where else. Life is too short to deal with unnecessarily disagreeable and clearly miserable people! Side note: I wonder if this is female employee is Jacky - the same woman that another yelp reviewer said was so rude he will no longer give this place his business? I wish I had gotten her name. I am so displeased with the woman working the night shift tonight. She sees there are people at the pump and I cant make over $70. Pump any faster that it comes naturally. She knows the two gentlemen men who pressure wash the grounds are starting to put cones out to block the exits and entrance so she should have made sure whoever was at the pump was done and not needed anything like a receipt and air. She left signs on both doors that it was still open just knock and I did repeatedly and nothing I even called and it just rang. I have used Shell for 25 yrs and even have 2 of the cards and my V.A. client has been a loyal customer for over 50 years he is in his late 70's and it's hard enough getting off a long shift and having this happen. Theirs homeless people all around the carwash area and they ask you for money or just anything that can be spared and its uncomfortable pass 10pm at this station but it's the closest to Coyle Ave. I know if someone watches the camera if it works they will see me repeatedly knocking and asking if the gentlemen have seen her again and nothing. If she dosen't care about the customers it's better she works somewhere else and have the people who do care work. read more

Since I use to live out here in the boonies when I was still renting a home reminiscent of a pretty white suburbia complete with cruise nights on Friday and Saturday nights and helicopters echoing throughout the night with their searchlights on. Hey, I had a Rottie to protect me. This Shell station was my choice of gas purchases because it was on my way to work in order to hit the 80 heading to Sacramento. Or on my way to Lake Tahoe. Facilities are clean, with detached bathrooms if necessary for the occasional traveler and a car wash that did a mediocre job, but perfect to wash off leaves, soot, and dirt. I asked for cash back and the clerk handed me a $5 bill instead of $10 (can only have a $10 limit on cash back here) so after I alerted him to it, I spoke to the manager, who said they would check the till overnight. I received a call the very next morning and they gave me my other $5. I'd go here than the ghetto 7-Eleven across the street. Blech. read more

If I could leave a one star I would, so I am waiting in line I'm trying to get a energy drink and been waiting there for about 10 minutes and then I don't know why the line is moving and then they say oh the registers not working after that I realized that I had my card in the pump and my card is pumping so much gas and pumping for about 10 minutes when I only way to put 20 in and I walk out to my car with a drink and then they accuse me of stealing telling me a who raise me , talking bad on my mom and yelling at me freaking out when I said I'm not stealing I handed it back and then she wants to continue going and telling me that who raise me I'm a thief and she I'm kicked out of the store while I'm legit going to take out the pump so I don't get more gass then I need. I left because she lost my service because she wanted to tell me that I'm a thief when I'm telling her I'm wanting to stop gas from going over. She continues to call me a thief calls me a loser tells me that my mother is trash and my mother didn't raise me right and it honestly I don't care if I'm kicked out because I will never be going back to this location I hope that this lady is fired and I will be returning back after my shift at work to complain read more

Very poor customer service. Went here just to get our car washed around 8:00pm. First off, $7 for a basic car wash is a rip-off. Secondly, the machine took the money, but did not register that we had put it in. The car machine and the car wash didn't work after several attempts to enter the code and pushing the change return. It didn't return any of the coins or cash I deposited either. Went to ask the cashier to activate it, she said it showed inside the building that the car wash was running, but it obviously wasn't. She was a new employee, didn't know what to do, didn't have the code to make the car wash operate. Of course, we had no receipt because the machine was malfunctioning and doesn't even issue them! I asked for my $7 back, or at least a "car wash ticket" but she refused. She attempted to call her manager, who did not answer her call. The girl said she'd leave a note for the manager and I could check back the next day. Called the next day & spoke to the manager, who said there was no note, to call back when the girl came into work. Called back later, manager was gone, girl said they hadn't talked about it. How hard is it to follow through and issue a ticket for a silly car wash? At least the new girl was apologetic, but I won't be going back to that station for gas or a wash again. read more

I've been coming to this gas station because it's very convenient. I haven't seem to encounter any problem/issue especially at 5am. One incident where I think I was looking for milk & I don't believe they have one or something. Not a big deal. However, last Thursday, Sept. 16th, I had the WORST experience in this location. I've pulled up to my usual pump #5. The pump stopped at like $0.14. I've debated on pressing the call button. I figured I can just move to another pump & get my gas. As I drove forward, the pump infront has "out of service" sign, drove around, the pump on the other side ALSO have an "out of service" sign (pump #s 7 & 8). So, I end up going to pump # 6 which was the other side of the pump where it stopped at $0.14. I took chances on this pump & OH MY GOD! The freaking pump was SO slow! I pressed the call button this time but nobody assisted me. Finally, I gave up, stopped the pump at $0.78. I moved for the 3rd time at pump # 11. Now, when I put in my card, it had a message "see cashier". Are you for real? Ugh! I went inside & told them what's going on about pump #s 5 & 6 being screwed up but all I got was "Oh, OK!" I prepaid my gas for pump # 11, walked out of the store, pumped my gas and just PISSED! I've worked at a gas station before. When a customer complains about a pump, we attend to it right away & usually there's just air in the hose. Oh and what really made it worse for me to be upset, there were 3 of them working with ONLY me to deal with at 5am!!! Hello?!
