A couple of moments of goodness, the guys did push my side mirrors in prior to entering the wash and they offered me a complimentary towel, and actually tossed two my way, they are like lint free paper towels. A thoughtless customer was BLARING her car stereo which all the vacuums would not drown out. It was sooooooooo annoying. You would think the company would put up signs stating 'do not blare your music morons!' like the goo goo does on south parkway. The vacuums are no where near the quality of the drive thru car wash near the "new" Wal Mart on 72 west near County line. And the place was generally run down. The staff at the other place by wal mart are way friendly, offering to help in any way, for example they will offer to run your mats thru the cleaner, free of charge. If you love listening to other peoples taste in music at way over the normal Marshal amp at a Metallica concert volume, enjoy paying for add-ons that you don't know what you're getting and using vacuums that increase the time you are exposed to extremely loud music of other people's selection because you have to re-vacuum the same spot a million times, you've got your new place. It's two stories, and well curated, with very well-organized displays. Ulysses Grant White founded this store as the U.G. White Hardware and Implement Company in 1917 - Wow! That's been a minute! Displays boast a variety of candies and sweets; fresh coffee; a small selection of items from 1818 Farms (sister's favorite lip gloss, beautiful kitchen towels, botanical wax sachets); jams, salsas, relishes, and fruit butters; candles; Lodge cast iron cookware; Case knives; old fashioned children's toys; clothing (socks, SPF hats, shirts); mugs and more! Unknown to me at the time time, the store staff was overheard talking about them saying things like ... you don't wear a mask because you're smart." They were also treated so poorly being stared at like they were subhumans. I wish I had known it at that time or I would have left without making my purchase. I noticed the typically friendly staff wasn't making eye contact or being friendly with me as they had done in the past. Even the kid at the register was being combative when I corrected him that the price on the bag was cheaper than what it rang up as. I calmly and politely explained to him that it's illegal to charge someone a higher price than what it's marked, and when he argued with me I told him that they should fix it immediately because they could get sued for that. A manager lady came over and fixed it (an older lady with white hair.) By that time my son and partner had already left the store because they were shunned and made to feel uncomfortable. This was Saturday, August 19th in the early afternoon. I'm leaving this review because I genuinely hope that the owner of the store reads it and cares enough about their business to reprimand these employees and the white-haired lady who was obviously in charge. Because money is money and you shouldn't treat customers that way. Literally perpetuating negative stereotypes about ignorant Southerners, and embarrassing yourselves. So if you don't economically survive, I won't be surprised, because maybe other people have been treated this way too and they won't be coming back either. Life is too short for bigots to thrive, and it's unchristian of you to do so.

Our experience at Sides was a good one this last spring! My husband nearly totaled his SUV, and…read morethankfully he wasn't seriously injured! Geico came to our home to do the estimate and I got on the phone to find a body shop that could complete the repairs in a reasonable amount of time. Many folks are repairing their vehicles instead of buying new ones when they are wrecked, and all the body shops are backed up. Seriously backed up! Sides made the most sense to us and within a couple of weeks we had a drop off appointment. The staff are friendly, cordial, honest and thorough. We knew going in there was a shortage of parts for Mazda [our SUV] and I think Subaru. Plus, Geico had to go to the body shop to perform at least 2 supplemental estimates updating the original estimate. This is because additional damage is often found during repairs, for example, the front seat needed replacing. Time was not a critical issue for us, as we bought a replacement vehicle in the interim. Sides took about 8-10 weeks to complete the job, which they told us up front. They quickly updated me at every follow up phone call and they offer a text messaging status service which is not really accurate or dependable. Do call them, they will talk to you and help you on the phone. We were pleased with all the work including the paint job, when we picked the car up and I've enjoyed my "new" [new to me, it is a 2016 model] car ever since. I highly recommend Sides! You can double check me, but I'm pretty sure there are 2 Sides shops in Athens.
