About 6-8 months after, I felt my gums hadn't looked as I wanted them to and just wasn't overall too happy with the result. So I called back and made an appt. I thought maybe my gums were growing back maybe since my teeth had looked different from the pictures I took right when I got the procedure (once it healed). To note, this was over $5,000 and I still felt guilty saying I wanted it touched up. Dr. Shapiro was nice but she told me they looked fine and charged me $50 for the appointment. I cried the whole way home. 2 years later, I'm looking into getting the procedure again with a different doc which will be another $5,000. While my experience was great the first time, I felt swept to the side when I wanted to go back even though this procedure took me forever to financially recover from. But I felt since it was my smile it mattered and I wanted to love it. Just for others who may be saving for this, make sure you advocate for yourself.

But, what I didn't realize was that they book the X-ray Examination and the cleaning SEPARATE. I had to come in for 2 days! Since I was on winter break, it was not a big deal. However, if you are in the working world, it is not okay. I saw Dr. Vo. Dr. Vo's background is extremely impressive, especially considering she is so young! First impressions, I was not impressed. Everyone has an off day, so I gave her the benefit of the doubt. The second time I came in, it was much better! She's not very talkative (which is fine, because I hate when they ask you questions and you got stuff all up in your mouth). I had my cleaning done that day, but was able to squeeze in a follow up appointment for a filling as well. For my first appointment, they gave me a water bottle as a welcoming gift. Pretty good marketing strategy, I'm impressed. I will be returning for my second cleaning of the year!

Had the tooth been properly evaluated before starting the procedure, this could have been avoided and my daughter would not have had to endure an unnecessary injection. After numbing her, the dentist repeatedly pulled at the tooth but was unable to remove it. My daughter is now in significant pain following the appointment. Watching her go through that experience was extremely upsetting. Based on what I witnessed, I have serious concerns about the judgment and care provided. I do not feel comfortable returning to this office, and I intend to explore my options, including speaking with a medical malpractice attorney.

I had a wonderful first impression with Dr. Un. I was looking for a new dentist, because my previous dentist had sold her practice, and I didn't have a good vibe from the new dentist. He suddenly recommended a lot of work that seemed unusual, since I'm so good with keeping up with my dental cleanings and any work that needs to be done. After research and asking local friends, I made an appointment with Dr. Siao and Dr. Un's office. Dr. Un looked at my mouth and the x-rays from my previous dentist and gave me a recommendation that I felt much more comfortable with. I told her I was already aware of that. She then asked what kind of insurance I have, and I said I only have Medicaid--but again, I reassured her that I understand they don't accept it and that I am willing to pay out of pocket. To my surprise, she said she still couldn't accept me because I have Medicaid. I felt completely discriminated against. She even told me it would be too expensive for me. I responded, "Is it because I have Medicaid, and you assume I can't afford it? Do you not believe I'm capable of paying?" What a terrible first impression.
