Indian weddings can be over the top with makeup/jewelry/glam and I wanted to look like an elevated version of myself but remain recognizable. When I initially spoke with Shweta, I expressed my concerns and she immediately made me feel comfortable and understood what I was going for. Shweta was lovely to be around during my wedding weekend in October 2025. She helped me keep calm, and we chatted through the early morning and the many hours in the makeup chair. Even when there were issues with weather impacting our ceremony, she helped me keep positive and her presence was extremely calming and reassuring! Shweta made me look and feel so beautiful-I cannot even describe how amazing the looks were. She really nailed every single one and I was so glad I worked with her because I still felt like myself. She was able to come up with distinct looks for each of the 3 events and all of them were perfect. She also was kind enough to do a look for a young cousin who is into hair and makeup and I think that made her weekend too :) I was very comfortable with Shweta and felt supported by her throughout the process. I highly recommend working with her, you won't regret it!

She is an incredible makeup artist and truly made me feel beautiful for all the events. Her past experience of doing makeup on models showed with her knowledge and skill in her craft! I mostly wanted lightweight dewy and glowy looks for my wedding events, and for the wedding I was looking for a makeup artist who could do a South Indian bridal look that didn't use heavy makeup, like I see a lot of in the Bay Area. She nailed every look! I spent so many hours with her, and she's very easy to talk to and makes you instantly comfortable. I highly recommend her, you won't be disappointed!!

I sent her some inspiration photos ahead of time, but largely let her do what she thought would look best for my events. Having this flexibility allowed her creativity to flow and as a result I had 3 uniquely different looks for all of my events. She also style my hair extensions as my natural hair is quite short and she blended them so that my natural hair length didn't peak through. Also, Ranjana is just a gem of a human being. She is so easy to talk to and makes the time in her chair go by so fast. Would love to book her again for any future events!

I told her I didn't have much experience with makeup and I don't do much with my hair. I left the expertise to her and told her she could do as she pleases as she would know what's best for me. I just told her I didn't want to look so traditional for my bridal look. I wanted it to be fun looking. My trial was amazing. Ranjana took the time to explain what she was doing and constantly asked my opinion on how I wanted to look. I went to my trial explaining to her she would pretty much have free reign over my bridal look. Even though she knew this, she always asked how I liked how she did something on my makeup or hair. For my wedding day photos, she helped me get dressed, and made me feel at ease on my big day. She takes the time to know her clients and truly wants them to shine in their own style of beauty. She is very COVID aware, having me bring my own mascara, eyeliner, lipstick, and foundation sponge. She kept everything very clean and kept her face mask and gloves on at all times. I was comfortable knowing how seriously she kept things clean in her studio. Truly an amazing artist! I would recommend her to any bride that's looking for someone who knows what they're doing. 10/10 Thank you again, Ranjana! You made these memories so much more beautiful! She met in person in advance to make sure my needs for upcoming events were met, checked in via texts leading up to events, she also has a great checklist of reminders to do before the big day (like even airing out dresses that are from abroad! Thank you, just little things too that are importantly that you might forget). I had zero confidence in getting the right flowers for my hair and Geet got them the day before and fridged them to have ready for me the next day. I was so grateful for this. Also while doing my hair, she would briefly massage my head and shoulders - it's like she knows exactly what you need! OMG. I didn't know such treatment was possible, the putting of make up and doing hair felt like a calming, soothing treatment. I am so grateful. Also most importantly, she secured my wedding gurdwara dress in a way so that I had NO issue bowing for the ceremony on the ground (she made me show her too to be sure). Everything functioned PERFECT. She knows what looks good too bc I'm not used to wearing make up and needed help on suggestions. Lastly, I didn't for a moment feel an ounce of impatience with all the hard work she had to do. Some people are just really good at what they do and I'm in awe of Geet! Thank you so much

I had Michelle as my makeup artist for my wedding last month (May 2026) and I absolutely loved how…read moremy makeup turned out! I felt so beautiful and confident and it truly allowed me to enjoy my wedding day to the fullest. Most importantly, I still felt like "me" while I was all glammed up and that truly made all the difference. She also did my mom and my mother-in-law's makeup and they both looked beautiful! Before I found Michelle, I did one bridal makeup trial with someone else that went... horribly. It was my first time having my makeup professional done and I was shocked at how bad it was for the cost. After that experience I almost gave up hope and considered doing my own makeup on my wedding day. Several months later, I decided to look into makeup artists again and found Michelle on instagram (@michellevalentine_beauty) and I am so happy I did. Through my process of trialing two different makeup artists, I can fully recognize how talented Michelle is at what she does. Makeup, especially bridal makeup, is extremely difficult. Everyone has such unique facial features and different personal preferences on how they like different parts of their makeup done. You also want the makeup to be heavy enough to show up in photos and last the whole day, but not look crazy and cakey in person. Michelle was able to strike the perfect balance of all of these things, and was very receptive to all of my feedback on what I wanted, no matter how minor the detail was. Apart from the makeup, Michelle is a very kind and genuine person who is easy to talk to. The makeup takes ~2-3 hours so having a makeup artist you get along with is definitely a bonus. She also did a color analysis for me during my trial which was super thorough and insightful, and even covered what fabrics would look good on me. In terms of cost, Michelle's prices were comparable to the first MUA I trialed and based on my research, she is on the more affordable side for the Bay Area. In terms of scheduling, my wedding was on a Friday during busy season (May) and I booked her 5 months in advance (in December). For the trial, her weekends were booked solid so I had to do it on a weekday, so definitely try to book far in advance for a weekend spot. The trial is so important though so I would not recommend skipping it! Michelle also offers hair services but I had already booked my hairstylist a few months before I found her so I did not end up getting my hair done by her, however she has demonstrated ability in different hairstyles if you look at her instagram! In summary, Michelle is an extremely talented and kind makeup artist that will ensure you look and feel your best on your wedding day! Rest assured you'll be in good hands :)

I scheduled a hair and makeup trial with her a bit before my wedding, which took place in her lovely home studio. Michelle was patient and receptive to my vision, taking time to get my makeup exactly how I liked it and experimenting with different lash looks. When it came time for my wedding, I made a last minute change on how I wanted to do my hair. Michelle was flexible and had left buffer time in the schedule so that we didn't need to be rushed. She gave me advice on what hairstyle might suit my face better. I absolutely loved how my hair and makeup turned out - it photographed beautifully and stayed put the whole night. Michelle has a talent for creating natural looks that complement your natural tones. Her assistants, Ti and Dan Tam, were also amazing and helped my bridesmaids, mom, and husband's mother get their hair and makeup done. It was many of their first time getting makeup/hair done professionally, and Michelle and her team helped make everyone feel comfortable. Thank you so much Michelle!

She's done my hair and make up on countless occasions, her work is very clean and the best part is she listens! I told her what I like, don't like and she's always done her best to accommodate. I worked with Anamika for hundreds of photo shoots, and she has always been very professional- punctual, amazing make up / hair, and always so excited to work. Just like most business owners, she's doing everything on her own so from experience I know it can get hard to constantly reply back to people etc. but I can stand behind the fact that she'll never let you down, and she'll be the sweetest person you'd work with. While Anamika delivers beautiful makeup, this two star review is due to (1) poor communication…read morethroughout the weeks before the wedding, (2) lack of flexibility with natural hair, (3) being late on the wedding morning and not bringing tools for the reception look. 1. Communication - I don't live in the Bay Area so I reached out to Anamika a couple months before the wedding to plan a trip around the time she would be free for a trial. She didn't respond for two weeks, and only finally responded when our wedding planner stepped in. I had booked with her 10 months before the wedding at which time the communication was fine - after giving the deposit (50% of service so 1000$) she was unresponsive. 2. I have very curly hair that takes quite some time to straiten and usually is frizzy when straitened. I explained this to Anamika when booking and she said it was fine as long as I tried my best and it was clear that I had gone through all of my hair with a strait iron before she arrived. At the trial she looked at my hair and asked me if I had read the contract, that she required very straight hair. I explained that this is the best that I could do. I would be fine to just go for a natural style or something else that would take less time if this didn't work for her. I showed her my hair in natural curls and said that we could just arrange the hair without heat styling - whatever is easiest. In the end I felt shamed for my natural hair and she put such little effort into it during the trial. At one point, I even asked her if - given that she was uncomfortable with my hair, we could cancel the contract, but she refused. I actually got 2 Brazillian blowouts before the wedding to make my hair fair enough and purchased an additional set of extensions at another length to be easier to blend. 3. On the wedding morning Anamika was about 20 minutes late to start with hair and makeup. We actually ran behind schedule for my sari draping, and the sari draper had to make other accommodations as she would be late for her next appointment if she waited for me. For the reception look, I had e-mailed her saying I wanted to do crimped hair and she replied that as long as my hair was strait it would be fine. My hair was strait (helped along by the two chemical Brazilian treatments) but she simply said she didn't bring her crimping tools and proceeded to do a typical blowout look with extensions.

Everything stayed in place beautifully, even through a long wedding day filled with photos, dancing, and plenty of moving around. I was especially happy with how well my curls held up. My hair is naturally very straight and tends to lose its curl quickly, so I was really happy to see that my curls stayed intact throughout the entire wedding day.
