I had a great experience with Dr. Sheik Orthodontist. Everyone is informative and accommodating regarding scheduling and working with the Oral surgeon that will take care of my implant. Back in 2010, an Orthodontist did my braces and straightened my teeth. Unfortunately, I have a sweet tooth, and I lost many teeth, so an Oral surgeon needs to get involved and put in an implant to fill the space of my teeth. So I planned to take care of my teeth and bring my smile back. What I like about this orthodontic office is that they prioritize my needs regarding my teeth, and they made me comfortable by thoroughly explaining my treatment plan and roadmapping my future journey. The schedule coordinators are well-mannered about assisting their costumers. The Doctors were accommodating because they were able to communicate with my oral surgeon on how will they take great care and bring back my great smile. The treatment coordinator, Suzie, and Marylou explained my monthly payment thoroughly. Their Ortho Assistants are very gentle and amazingly explain how important about Oral hygiene during ortho treatment, so shout out to the beautiful ladies, Michelle, Megan, and Erica. Thank you so much for taking good care of me. I can't wait to get my treatment done. In addition to the office, they have great drinks, such as coffee, tea, etc. They also have Netflix shows for the kids and they have updated magazines. There are new front desk staff who are efficient at scheduling and have excellent rapport with patients and families. They have also opened up additional slots for appointments and we have had no issues getting follow up scheduled. Like many adults during the pandemic, I finally pulled the trigger on orthodontics to fix some crowding in my lower teeth. It's easy to commit to Invisalign when you're wearing a mask all day. A friend referred me to Dr Shiva and I'm so happy I chose her practice. Her bedside manner sets a high bar for oral care. She's kind, warm and experienced. She really listens to your concerns and is clearly passionate about the care she provides. She customized my Invisalign express treatment plan to give me the best results possible and I couldn't be happier with my new smile. Do not be fooled by Dr. Sheik's sweet personality. We were told our child needed Invisalign urgently and we expressed significant concern to Dr. Sheik that she would be unable to keep the trays, in. Our child went to one visit to get the trays and was unable to keep them in. After 3 weeks we called to seek a refund and Dr. Sheik refused to give more than 35% back. I realize there are up front lab costs but to pressure a patient into receiving treatment and within the first month seeking a refund with no follow-up visits was importable. We realize this office is all about money. They do not have the patient at the center of what they do. Do not go to this practice, there are much better options in Mountain View with respectable and honest practitioners. read more

We came here based on the good reviews. Two stars for the nice staff but the treatment itself was a fail in both mine and my kid's (and a different orthodontist's) opinion. After a butterfly expander, oral surgery, and braces, her smile turned out crooked and taking off the braces prematurely left a tooth completely out of place. They said that it was due to complexity of the treatment and that phase 1 went longer than normal. But 1) I paid extra for the out of place tooth, and 2) I don't recall being told that there's a time limit on treatment. Basically, the job was only 90% done and then they tell me that she'll just have to do a phase 2, which is basically a whole lot of additional $$ down the drain. No thanks, moving on. This place is like an assembly line. I suggest that you look elsewhere for orthodontic care that's personal and where making money isn't their priority. Just because we live in Silicon Valley doesn't mean families should be taken advantage of. read more

My daughter needed an expander to maybe avoid having braces. Timing on behalf of Dr. Sheik (and Dr. Yee from the dentistry side of the building), was perfect to put the expander on. Our daughter's expander experience was about as good as you could get (for having an expander). Not having one at all, would have be the only better experience our daughter would have said. But, Dr. Sheik was so skillful, careful and caring! Our daughter loved seeing her and didn't mind her visits one bit. We did have to see Dr. Chima just once on an off day, but she was just as nice, skillful and pleasant as Dr. Sheik! Our experience with this team was truly amazing. We couldn't recommend them more! These two doctors are orthodontic geniuses! We have three children who have all had or are currently undergoing orthodontic treatment and we could not be happier with the services provided to them by Dr. Sheik, Dr. Chima and their staff. The two doctors are extremely professional but have a sweet disposition that makes the patients and their parents feel welcome and comfortable. The assistants that help them are all really nice and take time to actually get to know the kids. On more than one occasion I've seen former patients stop by just to say hello, now that's a testament to someone who has had a good "braces" experience! We took our eldest son to another local orthodontist for a first opinion. After an extremely cursory consultation (like 10 minutes max) he told us that our son needed teeth pulled and a headgear. We were not comfortable with the idea of pulling healthy teeth and anyone who has a teenager will know that getting them to wear a headgear is next to impossible! So based on the recommendation of our pediatrician (who also brings her kids to Drs. Sheik and Chima) we came here for a second opinion. The consultation was almost an hour but I appreciated the fact that they actually did a thorough job. They told us that our son could be treated without pulling teeth and could have a "grasshopper" instead of headgear. We signed up for treatment on the spot and have never regretted doing so! He now has retainers and his smile is often complimented which has greatly improved his self confidence. Since an overbite runs in our family and all our kids have small mouths, the other two needed braces as well. All of them actually like going to see their orthodontists so much that our daughter actually says she wants to be an orthodontist herself! These two women have done a great job with our kids teeth and we could not possibly be any happier with this office. read more

Dr. Sheik and Dr. Chima were basically the worst thing that could have happened to my teeth. I was in third grade when they wanted me to get braces, courtesy of the former person who was getting ready to retire around the time I was getting braces. I was done with treatment in about a year and a half, but Dr. Shiek told me that I needed a butterfly expander plus headgear AFTER I had braces. With the expander, my straight teeth were no longer pretty and straight. I had a large gap in between my front teeth due to the expander. I am now 18 years old, and I have to have an orthodontist treatment again that is now out of pocket since I wasted insurance on a failed attempt at braces. The experience was not bad, every appointment was greeted with welcoming smiles, but the treatment plan was a bust and I am now quite literally, paying the consequences. read more

Went to Dr. Sheik for free consultation yesterday for my 14 year old son and I was very impressed with the professionalism from the office. We arrived the office on time. In few minutes, Suzzie took us in to take pictures and x-rays of my son's teeth. She was extremely patient and she explained everything in detail. This week I get my braces off in Dr. Chima's office (orthodontist portion of Pediatric Dentistry). It has been an overall great experience. The entire staff is very nice, especially Dr. Chima. She encourages me to take care of my braces, by allowing me to earn points to trade for prizes. She's not upset with me if I don't remember to wear my rubber bands, but helps me to try harder for the future. I wanted to get my braces off in time for school. With extra care, she helped me to accomplish this. I am happy to get my braces off, but will miss not coming in to see Dr. Chima. Lauren (age 12) Dr. Shiva, and the entire office staff, have made our braces journey a very enjoyable one. Appointments were easy to make, ran on time, and clear expectations were set with my daughter about what she needed to do. She felt like they treated her as an adult and she would call them directly if she had a problem (if a bracket broke or a wire started scraping her mouth). They would always make room for her the same day. Dr. Shiva has a very easygoing, friendly personality. There was never any hassle if the rubber bands weren't worn enough and my daughter never felt drama about having to go to her appointments. She actually looked forward to wearing the shirt they gave her (so she could earn points) and to seeing how far her teeth were progressing. Our son was referred to this orthodontics office from the shared office residents, Dr. Cynthia Yee's office. My son was referred for an expander, because he didn't have enough space in his mouth for his permanent teeth to grow in. We had wonderful treatment and kind service from this office and Dr. Sheik was great with my son and I. She made sure that the expander was doing its job, and we were consistent about turning it to make that space happen. My son already had the expander removed mid-last year, and his mouth now has space for his teeth - so much better. My husband has teeth where they are in front of the other, so we have saved our son from this fate :) Thanks to Dr. Sheik! Both my kids go to Sheik and Chima Orthodontics! One of them is just finishing his two year treatment with braces and the other has had a butterfly and head gear for 5 months or so. We have been very happy with both doctors and the rest of the staff there. Besides being great orthodontists, everyone is friendly and they are very flexible when the kids have to come in for a last minute appointment. We also switched the kids from our old dentist to the dentists in this office because the dentists and orthodontists coordinate well together. In addition to me being happy, the kids are comfortable going for their appointments. It is obviously kid friendly with tv monitors for each child along with prizes and incentives for brushing/cleaning well. I have already recommended them to others! read more
