Dr. B is so chatty, fun and cool. Oh yea he is good at straightening out your teeth too. He'd reply to emails quicker than I'd expect which showed great sincerity in this snobby fast paced world. I was here during Covid so at times he was the only one at the office; I just had a baby so he would be like "hey I see your kid is in the car, let me come out." Wow like who is nice these days! He is a Gem! Office: is fancy but Dr. B is great. Staff: a little scattered brain, but reach out to NicoleP and she'll always get things straightened up. I had a good experience here. The staff were polite and the doctor was focused throughout the visit. They looked through my past info and didn't rush when going over what I've been feeling lately. I felt like they took a realistic approach and offered suggestions that made sense. Not overly talkative but clear enough in what they said. My open bite corrected without jaw surgery!!!! I went to 5 orthodontists for opinions. 3 of them were referrals from friends and 2 of them were searched on YELP. 4 orthodontists said I need to straighten my teeth first (3 said to use braces and 1 said Invisalign), and all 4 said I need to have a jaw surgery right after to correct my open bite. I was really bummed that I need to have a jaw surgery but had accepted the reality and my neighbor recommended me to go see Dr. Boschken. Went to see Dr. Boschken, and at this point I didn't expect any different consultation than the other 4 Orthodontists that I had seen. Dr. Boschken did a 3D scan, showed me the computerized before and after photo and said "we will do Invisalign!". I then said "jaw surgery afterward?". He was shocked and said "NO". This will be fixed with Invisalign. I was in a complete shocked and disbelief! I went to 4 reputable orthodontist, and they all said I need jaw surgery and no way around it. Let's do it! Worst come to worst, if it doesn't work, I will need jaw surgery, at least Dr. Boschken gave me hope that I didn't need one. My first run of 35 weeks of Invisalign trays. At 9 weeks, my jaw came down!!! Again disbelief. I am now at tray 28, so far so good! I always thought all dentist and orthodontist that offer Invisalign are all the same because they just send the scan to Invisalign for them to create the trays to align. Now... I know that it is not. Dr. Boschken writes his own prescription to Invisalign to get what he wants for the result. Now my question is, WHY couldn't the other orthodontist keep up with the technology??!?? I am so pleased with my results so far and I am only half way done! This is just my personal experience. I hope I get to help others that doesn't need to go through unnecessary surgery. My child is undergoing treatment at this office. We mostly deal with this particular assistant. Dr. Boschken is more in an advisory role, checking the work and determining next steps, which I suppose is a common practice in this profession. Most people appear to be friendly here except our assistant. She tends to dismiss my questions, visibly annoyed when I asked questions. I found myself subconsciously try to avoid talking to her, which is unfair since we pay thousands of dollars for this treatment and I'm genuinely concerned about my child's wellbeing. I feel it's my right as the guardian of my minor child to get my questions answered to feel comfortable about the treatment and have a correct outlook of what to expect down the road. I don't want to complain to the office as she's the one we have to work with the rest of the treatment. read more

My initial thought when I walked in was "Wow.. I thought my ortho office was nice... but this place is absolutely stunning!" I work down the street and needed to trim my wire because it's been poking me for two weeks already. My ortho is way up in the North Bay and with my work schedule, I just couldn't take off. I called Los Altos Orthodontics to see if they can trim the wire for me, and literally cried of joy when they said "yes" (I was in so much pain). The receptionist was so nice, and squeezed me in a next day appointment. Upon walking in, I was immediately greeted and the staff seem super welcoming. Not sure if she was a tech or the actual ortho, forgot her name but she was soooo nice! She took a look at my teeth, trimmed the wire, and even checked if there were any other wires that needed to be trimmed (appreciate that so much!!) Thank you Los Altos Orthodontics for accommodating my emergency! WOW! This office blew me away. I was also so impressed by the credentials this orthodontist has. He was educated at an Ivy League University for both dentistry and orthodontics, and has been doing Invisalign since it was created. As a VIP Diamond Plus Provider that is as good as it gets. Evelyn greeted me at the office when I went to visit and she showed me around - she was so nice, so grade A for customer service! For the anxious kiddos, this is somewhere you want to take them to make their smiles beautiful! There is also a sitting area for the parents to be near their children when they are undergoing treatment. I'm sure as a child or adult, you are in extremely good hands getting your treatment done by Dr. Boschken. You are definitely lucky if you get to have your smile transformed by him. I get referred to Dr Ross from Stanford Sleep Center. While Dr Ross is listed at Los Altos Orthos as but he is actually not practicing there anymore and that was not clear to me when I made my appointment. When I emailed and ask would I be seeing Dr Ross, I didn't get a reply and since it is a free evaluation, I think it wouldn't hurt if it turns out to be with Dr Boschken instead. I showed up on time but was waiting for 20 min. Then I was brought in to a room where 3 other kids were getting their teeth cleaned and sit for another 5min It is definitely a ortho center for kids - not a good sign when I'm seeking oral appliance for sleep apnea. Then I met Dr Boschken. He showed me the one and only appliance he uses on all his patients, bulky ones with wire that's dated from 20 years ago. There are at least 20 more on the market that uses other materials and less bully. He said he didn't bother to try. I asked him about tongue retaining device, he said he had never heard of it. He was also in a rush to get out of the room and get his assistant in to tell me about pricing. With the 30min wait, not up to date with what's on the market for sleep apnea dental appliances as comparison, and the rush to finish my consultation. I'm not picking dr Boschken to make my dental appliance. read more

The staff at Los Altos Orthodontics is the friendliest and nicest you will find. Really nice people (they were hired by Dr. Ross who ran the place previously..) But Dr. Boschken is a different story... He was always rushed. Didn't seem to be up to speed on the case. His top priority was to finish the case, not necessarily to get it right. Several times during the treatment he made incorrect diagnosis and recommended the wrong treatment plan. Finally, he announced the case complete when we clearly saw it was not. His explanation was "this is how her mouth is..." At that point we gave up on him and went for a second opinion. Sure enough the other orthodontists saw the issues right away and we had to start again. Dr. Boschken disappointed us and we recommend to our friends to avoid him and look for an orthodontist who is in it to make it right... read more

My most recent check up was definitely much better. Dr.Boschken and his staff took the time to show me the clin-check with the updated notes regarding my concern. I now feel more confident that whatever concerns I have had are being addressed. He also spent more time than usual to ask questions regarding the progression of the case. I would like to start off with saying, this has been the smoothest 2.5 years of adult braces. Going in I was very apprehensive, but what really made it smooth was the front office staff. All of the people in the reception were always accommodating with my work schedule, arranging it around my busy times. A special mention to Evelyn. My two teenagers just moved from braces to retainers as part of the treatment process by Dr. Boschken. We are all pleased with the results. I drove from Campbell to Los Altos to go to this practice based on the recommendation from a sleep doctor, to widen one child's jaw/upper mouth due to sleep apnea. Dr. Boschken addressed that issue for us and my child has been sleeping better - still need to do the f/u sleep test but child reports being more rested and behavior is improved. Dr. Boschken and his staff are great - everyone is friendly, there is a great coffee machine for patients/parents, and I am amazed at how Ricki remembers every clients name and something about them. When I had some concerns during treatment, Dr. Boschken took the time to meet with me to listen and discuss. He kept the braces on one child's teeth longer than anticipated, but explained why and said he wanted her teeth to be perfect. They are.
