We were able to decide what to order before we made it to the counter. This is a popular place. What looked like a long line moved quickly. The cashier was friendly and knowledgeable. We ordered a few breakfast sandwiches and a few beverages! Our directions were to stand aside for our beverages and then we could wait elsewhere, even outside on the patio for our food order. We were given a pager. The logistics of their system worked quite smoothly. Our chai tea latte and iced vanilla latte with cinnamon were on point! And our breakfast sandwiches (egg and cheese on sourdough & ham, egg, and cheese on a croissant) were freshly prepared and delicious! Yum! The menu is diverse and there's a dog-friendly patio where tables have umbrellas. This is a special place and you should definitely stop by when in Harper's Ferry.

The coffee is excellent, and they even serve ice cream. The vibe is lively, with free Wi-Fi, a small gift shop, and a patio with sturdy seating and great views. No knock on other spots, but I happily walk past ALL of them to come here. Highly recommend!

I'm not usually a huge ice cream person, but it felt like the perfect way to honor her. The shop itself was bright, clean, and welcoming, with several people already enjoying their treats. We grabbed a high table by the front window, which made for some great people-watching while we indulged. The menu immediately caught my eye. The range of flavors wasn't just broad--it was creative, unique, and full of options you don't see every day. That foodie spark kicked in, and I knew I had to go with a flight so I could taste a few. (Brilliant idea, by the way--four little cups of different flavors!) Our picks were: Grilled Lime Burnt Honey Crunchy PB Jelly Espresso Mascarpone Lemon Biscotti Brown Butter Pecan & Praline Each scoop came with a color-changing spoon (such a fun touch), and every flavor was creamy, consistent in texture, and absolutely delicious. My favorites were a tie between the Espresso Mascarpone (though I think it could stand strong without the lemon biscotti) and the Brown Butter Pecan & Praline. The Grilled Lime Burnt Honey was bright and unique, and the Crunchy PB Jelly was tasty but leaned a bit sweet for me. Overall, this was some of the best ice cream I've had--flavorful, high-quality, and true to its name. Add in the kind, helpful staff and the clean, cozy atmosphere, and it made for a really special stop. I left not just with a happy palate, but also with a new tradition: every year on August 22, I'll seek out a new ice cream spot in honor of my grandma. Amy & Alex's was the perfect place to start.

But the book store/cafe side is such a gem. The custom drinks are pretty good, though the drip coffee was barely warm and a little weak. The book selection isn't huge, but it's just right for perusing and they have lots of mystery book packs you could buy and relax with while you sip. I love how spacious it is, how cozy and comfy the seating area is, and they have magnetic checkers, tic-tac-toe, and Scrabble boards you can play at separate tables. They also have a sizable play area for kids separate from the main seating area with puzzles, toys, and more. Great for stopping in with the whole family for a warm up and relaxation on a cold winter day. The bathrooms were very clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly.

This was perfect since I was visiting little kids and their mom. Nest & Nook is a gift shop of home items on one side, and on the other side they have a counter where you can order a coffee or a cookie. This is also where you'll find some wooden blocks, trucks, and books to keep the littlest readers entertained while the grownups chat! This place is so beautifully styled. All with natural, earth tones. They also have books for sale for kids and grownups. As far as coffee, they have a variety of coffee and tea drinks. I got their special coffee The Phoenix. This is a vanilla latte with foam. I was a bit let down by this coffee drink. It was super watered down, and there wasn't any foam. It came in a tall orange glass, which was lovely. I hope with time they can perfect the recipe of their specialty coffee drinks. We also got a locally made oatmeal cookie to share. This was soft, delicious, moist, fresh and bursting with raisins and flavor. The kids had a great time playing, that they didn't want to leave. And the adults had some uninterrupted time to chat. I would love to stop by Nest & Nook the next time I'm in town.
