Instead a seed was planted here and cultivated and up sprung a gas station/convenience store. A common sight along this corridor that connects Pittsburgh to the rest of western Pennsylvania. Speedway has steadily been increasing their presence in the area and usually within distance to create competition with a nearby gas station chain. There is no difference in this area. New Alexandria has been kind of an oasis while driving Route 22 with it's one gas station that was open 24/7. With the addition of this station you now have a choice. Speedway is similar to the competition up the road in several ways. Open 24/7, offers food, and has a wide selection of items that you can grab and go. However this spot has a couple variations. First they offer diesel for the bigger vehicles on the roadways, so the lot is larger. Another is that they offer a sit down area to eat your food. Speaking of the food. Some of the items are heavy on the stomach and others are sparse on the toppings. Quick in the sense that once you order, by the time you pay your items are ready for pick up. One thing I do not like about this place is the fact that you do not seem to get great gas mileage from the fuel. Once I filled up here and went on my way, I basically needed to fuel up the next day. In my travels what would be a complete circuit for me, I used a half a tank of gas. Not great when I usually use much less than that. In the future, I will go elsewhere for fuel for my car, but I may end up stopping in for a quick item of fuel for myself.

Fountain drinks are priced fairly even through all of the inflation hikes, food is pretty good as convenience store food goes, you can even sit down and drink a beer out two if you'd like. (Which I haven't but thought it kinda cool that you can do that in Pa Now). Gas prices are comparable to others in the vicinity... And they have rewards where you can save $ on gas as well.

They took over the old movie theater, and now the place is HUGE!! They even kept one of the theaters intact so they can have presentations, and show motorcycle live-streams and movies . . . COOL! My reason for coming here today was two-fold. 1) To buy a new helmet (which I found, one I liked, and in my size, that wasn't too expensive), and 2) to test ride a new Triumph Scrambler 400 XC during their Demo Days. I had fun riding the bike, and I even received a free gift, a little Triumph tool kit. Lyndsay in parts was excellent, and she even gave me a Veteran Discount when purchasing my new helmet. They had sooooooo many motorcycles, ATVs, and watercraft to see. Wowza . . . this place is a destination and was worth driving in from an hour away . . . Cheers!!!

Surprisingly this Sam's location is quite possibly the best one in the Pittsburgh area. When I say that, what I mean is that each time I have visited this location they have everything in stock when compared to other locations. Each visit I have been able to find the staples (or maybe they are the new staples) like toilet paper, facial tissues, water. Yes, it is located near the dreaded blackhole that is known as Pittsburgh Mills, but don't let that stop you from visiting. All of the businesses outside are thriving as compared to the mall. Sam's is kind of tucked back from other businesses, basically it sits next to Walmart at the end of the road. Parking lot feels a bit smaller than others, but it seems to work seeing how quickly people are in and out of here so quickly. Staff were pleasant and helpful when dealt with. The whole store was clean and stocked.

Now that you have Giant Eagle taking over, it's all the GetGo brand. Access to this particular location is a breeze if you are heading westbound on 22; however, heading east on 22, it is almost impossible to cross the highway to enter their property. So do be careful, or just go the extra feet up to the light and do a U-turn. I would say this is an easy in and out store, but with them just taking over the building and not remodeling or tearing down and building anew, it is set up a little differently.

Recently this place changed ownership. Once called Mack's Mini Mart, One Stop came in and claimed…read morethis spot and re-branded it. They have changed a few things about this spot, some for the better, some for the worse. The one huge improvement they have made is the fact that you can now pay at the pump. Prior to the changeover you had to guess-timate how much gas your car would take. Under shoot that amount and you don't get a full tank. Over shoot that amount and you had to walk back in for a refund of the difference. I was so happy to see this change as it reduced the amount of time I had to spend getting gas. Another change is that they have an expanded menu of made to order food. I cannot speak of the food as I have never had a chance to partake in any of it. I only know of this because of the bright-as-the-sun new sign they have out front. It nearly blinds you with the announcement of the deals for the day. Huge, huge negative here, the gas. I'm not sure where they get their gas from, but it is not the best out there. For me, travelling is a big part of my day, and I usually depend on a good gasoline. You think that you are getting a good deal here as it is usually the cheapest gas around for a while. Always a few cents cheaper than the Sunoco up the street, and nearly ten cents cheaper than any other gas station around. But, to me, this is a facade. I filled my gas tank up and headed on my way. Usually when I do this I can make my round trip to work and back on a little over an eighth of a tank of gas. However the day I stopped here, it took a half of tank of gas for the same travel. There were no side trips, no detours, just the same route I take daily for work. I doubt I will stop here again unless I am made aware of a change is gasoline supplier. If I am going to throw money away, I can find better places to do so rather than a gas station.
