From being accommodating with tee times to having tools to retighten your driver, they rock. They also have a driving range with real grass (not mats) and a good putting green area to practice on. I think the course is fairly priced for it being beautiful and having nice accommodations (good carts, nice bathrooms in the clubhouse) and generally great people. I highly recommend playing a round here if you are in the Lewiston-Auburn area.

Tomahawk is the more challenging course and newer course at the site, opened for play in 2002 and designed by Dan Maples (http://www.northmyrtlebeachgolf.com/course-architects/dan-maples.html). Arrowhead is mostly straight runs at the flag with some hazards and hills, but it's still fun and challenging for most players. This has been the staple of the course since they opened in 1965. I've played several courses in the area and this is as good as it gets in Central Maine.

It's not a long course, and I prefer to walk my bag. There are some fun challenges (water and marsh) and it makes for a good round. This is possibly the most affordable place to play a round in the area. Plenty of parking across the street. I did find it to be more relaxed here vs. other courses. And I actually loved it! No one is breathing down your neck to keep you on pace, but a group of 4 saw me behind them and waved me through. I recommended playing a round at Apple Valley! And if you have time, grabbing a drink at Hoppers and watching other players finish the ninth hole!

The facility is for disc golf, but don't be fooled- they serve the BEST smoked brisket in Maine- and I can say that because I'm from Texas, and have made it a point to visit nearly every "bbq" place in Maine. Seriously, the places in Portland don't come close to this- not even in cooking process. All together we had three brisket sandwiches and fries, and an order of chicken tenders and fries- all of the food went down quickly, and everyone loved it. The owners are kind and pleasant people- the husband is a Navy veteran too! I absolutely will return here and I highly recommend you visit too!

It works on a slightly different hook-in system, but doing it this way invites you to be present in what you are doing, and also adds another level of safety when you and buddy are looking out for each other. There are multiple levels of the ropes course, each more challenging than the other. The ground level is made for kids under 12 and it's a great intro to the latching system and "learning the ropes", so to speak. The very top level is black diamond level difficulty... I've seen a few kids brought to tears up there, and I imagine some adults have cried too. But there are a few levels in between that are a good balance of fun and challenging, while also very safe. Another great upside of buying the full ticket is the zip lines. So much fun! There are a few that you can access from the main course and a few that are nestled in the woods. I was terrified of zip lining before visiting and now I feel good about it. A lot of that is how skilled and thoughtful the whole staff is. They make you feel safe and also encourage you to face your fears and have a great time! Shout out to Bethel for running the whole show and creating a memorable experience for both kids and adults alike. They are only open for the summer and it's a good idea to make a reservation online, just in case it's a particularly busy day. Can't wait to return next year!

Crowded, teenagers waiting on you at the window, a tiny little burger and the nastiest fries I've ever had made for a completely ruined supper time. We won't be back. We actually ate some of it, then went to Arby's to finish filling up our stomachs.

The camping is nice here too with good facilities, but the road noise is evident, especially at night when other things quiet down. Lastly, the park is dog friendly, which is so appreciated! Our dogs have enjoyed it each time they come, whether it be for camping or just stopping in to swim. I'm not sure if dogs are allowed in the water or not, but our dogs prefer to lounge in the sun or shade of the picnic table anyway.

The park is immaculately well kept, with many picnic tables and grills available. There is plenty of space to lay out a blanket for sunning or picnicking, and lots of green space for outdoors games. There are clean bath/changing rooms close to the designated swimming area. There is also a lifeguard on duty. Entry fees are reasonable ($7 per adult for non residents) and plenty of parking, including handicapped parking. No trash bins--take out what you bring in. A wonderful place to spend the day!
