Sam, the new PGA golf pro, is helpful and friendly. The food and beverage service, provided by the Long Reach Kitchen and Catering company is excellent. Their staff is also friendly and helpful, the menu is varied, and their drink menu is fun. All and all, a great local golf course. The PGA may never play at the Bath Golf Club but it is a fun place. It works on a slightly different hook-in system, but doing it this way invites you to be present in what you are doing, and also adds another level of safety when you and buddy are looking out for each other. There are multiple levels of the ropes course, each more challenging than the other. The ground level is made for kids under 12 and it's a great intro to the latching system and "learning the ropes", so to speak. The very top level is black diamond level difficulty... I've seen a few kids brought to tears up there, and I imagine some adults have cried too. But there are a few levels in between that are a good balance of fun and challenging, while also very safe. Another great upside of buying the full ticket is the zip lines. So much fun! There are a few that you can access from the main course and a few that are nestled in the woods. I was terrified of zip lining before visiting and now I feel good about it. A lot of that is how skilled and thoughtful the whole staff is. They make you feel safe and also encourage you to face your fears and have a great time! Shout out to Bethel for running the whole show and creating a memorable experience for both kids and adults alike. They are only open for the summer and it's a good idea to make a reservation online, just in case it's a particularly busy day. Can't wait to return next year!

I've been going to this course for a few years now - but this year has been rather horrid for a…read moremultitude of reasons. - pace of play has dramatically slowed. Too many groups on the course at a time, and a lot of these groups have little etiquette / are slow and unskilled. Pace of play recommendation is 4 hours, but prepare for 6. As a result, 3 times this season I have paid for 18 only to play 9 to 11 holes and give up due to the horrible pace of play and skill set ahead of me. - unskilled groups (t-shirt golfers) I think the dress code enforcement has been decreased / isn't applied anymore. Therefore, you end up getting a ton of "scrubs" / "T-shirt golfers" out there, slowing everything down. I blame both of these issues as a result of dramatically increasing the number of memberships being handed out. Further, since Prospect Hill in Auburn closed, I would assume the newbie golfer type decided to colonize Fairlawn :( I recommend Fox Ridge in Auburn - it is marginally more expensive but you do not find yourself in the same predicament (long waits, etc.). ---------------------------------------------- HOWEVER - I WOULD BE WRONG TO NOT TALK ABOUT WHAT THEY DO RIGHT! Great staff - always polite and have personality. Not afraid to chat with you. I love feeling welcomed when I arrive. Good food! Generally great course conditions - the fairways are generally pretty good unless it's been a wet week or overly hot. In those cases, you may experience mud or yellowed, dry fairways. Of course, you can take relief under the rules of golf for "abnormal course conditions". These issues are at every course - simply because of where we live. Fairlawn is great, but I think the issues outlined above are preventing me from making this my "home" course. I could be persuaded otherwise, but I doubt that management can put the "cat back in the bag" so to speak.

This business isn't housed in the flashy of buildings or a destination town, but that doesn't matter. What matters are the creative worlds you step into once the door behind you is closed. You'll forget where you are and you'll forget who you really are (am I bank robber? am I zombie apocalypse survivor?). The only thing that matters? Getting. Out. Annnnnd, even if you don't, there will still be a friendly smile escorting you out of your failed game and offering you some candy! As with every escape room I IMPLORE YOU to do this with friends. Escape Rooms usually only suck when you get thrown into doing them with people you don't really know (and can't yell at, push over, and literally fall down on top of, and still be cool with when the game's over). The rooms are well themed and have some unexpected surprises - including one that I haven't seen anywhere else. I'm looking forward to returning here in the future to try out his other rooms.
